In general the hotel was as expected, due to covid the restaurant was not open, but the buffet breakfast was of good standard. the standard double room was an adequate size for a short stay, with enough storage space for clothing. The bedroom and en suite bathroom were spotlessly clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. the location was excellent with parking on site which meant we did not have to use the car for and could walk to all amenities including the beach. I would have given 5 stars but one area which let the hotel down was the outside bar area, it was very untidy and dark. The terrace which was reached from steps behind had such a fantastic view overlooking summerleaze beach but overgrown with weeds. The price paid per night reflects the location only and would expect a lot more additional extras and upkeep to be of a higher standard for £150 per night.

My partner and I booked a last minute get away in Bude, I hadn’t read any reviews on An Mor so thought I’d take the gamble and was so pleasantly suprised.
The hotel was perfect, spotlessly clean, quirky and welcoming staff waiting on the door to welcome us.
Nothing was too much trouble during our stay, the room had a beautiful sea/river view and the decor was lovely.
Excellent value for money, especially with a beach location within 5 minutes walking distance, perfectly located in town for everything you need and plenty of variety of food outlets around.
Cannot wait to book and stay here again!

This hotel is fab.
We turned up late evening and checked in and Abbey was super friendly.
There is a one way system in place for Covid 19 measures, so up to the rooms via lift and down the stairs to stop congestion. There is also hand sanitiser places around. The room was lovey, nice and spacious, it had basic tea and coffee facilities that you’d get in any hotel, with a lovely biscuit. The bed was super comfortable, nice big puffy pillows, slept like a log. We were in 201, which the lift is next to but didn’t hear it.
The bar area had a nice atmosphere, with a good selection of gin.
Breakfast was included in the price and was very tasty! I had pancakes and my partner had eggs bennidict. The morning staff were very friendly and made you feel welcomed after a peaceful nights rest! I would definitely recommend and return.

This hotel has a spectacular location, in the middle of town within close walking distance of the beach, restaurants and shops. The small team working there are the moment work their socks off and do a very decent job. The problem for us was the price compared to the facilities. Post COVID we paid £150 per night which is way more than the usual price for a night at this hotel and means the review will reflect expectations set by this cost.

The rooms are clean and functional but rather small with very little in the way of supplies. One small bottle of shampoo does not last 2 people 4 nights and the tea (pg tips only) and milk also ran out. As there is no housekeeping whatsoever, we had to ask for clean towels, toilet paper and toiletries. While bed making is obviously not allowed during C19 everywhere else we stayed managed to refresh our bathroom and leave extra supplies without being asked.

The restaurant was closed as was the outside bar and surrounding area - one of the reasons we had booked this hotel.

The decor is rather dark which probably works better in winter and a lot of the woodwork in need of repainting. The lift was not working on some of the floors. The first thing to greet you at the front door is an open pot full of used fag ends - so disgusting.

If you can book this hotel at under £100 then I would say go for it but as it is at the moment I would not pay more.

This hotel has a great lobby and the breakfast that was included in the price was a good standard buffet breakfast. The location was great, just a 5 minute walk from the hotel and there was a view of the sea from our room.
Unfortunately the room was sub standard, the lock on the bathroom door was broken and fell off, the pillows were very hard and the quilt felt cheap and lumpy, the bed sheet wasn’t tucked in very week and so moved during the night. The worst part was that there was no aircon, we did stay during a heatwave but for the price paid aircon should have been as standard, the mix of the bedding and the heat made for a very unpleasant nights sleep. I must add that none of this was reported to the hotel until after our stay so they didn’t have a chance to rectify the problems during our stay and may have done so had we raised the problems. The staff were all lovely and friendly.

Firstly the pros - staff were just excellent and couldn't fault them. A great range of choice for breakfast and really good quality. Great location - near the beach and shops and restaurants. Fun, quirky bar area.

The not so good...this hotel is quite dark, dated, quite basic and for £160 a night (albeit room 207 did have a beach view - although with a broken bed!) it is extremely overpriced and the decor/facilities of the room and hotel just don't warrant that price.

I understand this hotel used to be £100 a night cheaper pre Covid...

There appears to be other hotels/b&bs in the area of a similar price that are just of a better quality, better facilities and comfort.

After lockdown in May, the b&b have posts on their social media of the covered outdoor terrace bar that is open come rain or shine. We had both at the beginning of July and it was firmly closed for the five days we were there.

We had an email only 3 days before we were to check in to tell us the restaurant would be closed (and I don't think they will be reopening it but still advertise it now on their listing.)

I know it is post Covid times but it just feels like the hotel have lowered the facilities, cranked up the prices just because they know in times where it isn't easy to go abroad they just can and we just feel a tad ripped off.

If this b&b was £80ish a night it would be absolutely fine but the price unfortunately does not match the standard.

We are frequent visitors to Bude and have stayed here previously. There have been some great improvements made since our last visit, we stayed bed and breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed the food. My 9 year old said he’d be happy to move in so he could have the pancakes and maple syrup each day! The staff were excellent too, very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. In light of the current pandemic it was also good to see how clean the place was and the effort made by the staff to follow government guidelines. A cot was provided for us for our baby and it was pristine. Something that would have helped us was that although we didn’t have daily maid service (presumably due to Covid) staying for 4 nights we still had needs in our room, such as for the bins to be emptied. Overall we had a lovely stay and have booked to return next year

We are just home after a very relaxing 3 night stay at this hotel. We had a room on the 3rd floor which overlooked the town and a side sea view, and was clean and spacious enough for the 2 of us. The room had a lovely large bathroom and shower, and the bed linen and towels were of a good quality with a super comfy bed.
All staff were extremely pleasant and helpful and attentive but not over bearing at breakfast. The breakfast was plentiful and of a good quality, with a choice which could easily be tweaked to your own liking- we found that nothing was too much trouble.

Bude is a lovely unspoilt seaside resort and is managing to deliver a decent holiday experience- whilst managing the aftermath of Covid, you just need to remember holidays are different from what they used to be.

Suggestions to improve the stay in the current climate would be to send restaurant info out early and advise booking a table ( most eateries have restricted seating due to 2m distancing) prior to your visit.
We always managed to find somewhere or something to eat but larger parties may struggle

All in all we would definitely book this hotel again if we visit Bude.

An Mor is wonderfully positioned for the beaches and town with free parking. Our room had a seaview although it was only 10% of the view. The rest looked across the river to the canal and countryside and far hills. Some front facing rooms will also look over the Adventure Hotel next door and their climbing equipment. It was extremly quiet with no traffic and we didn't hear other guests. Our bed was very comfy and our room and bathroom extremly clean. Social distancing was well maintained at breakfast. The two members of staff we met were lovely.

It lacked a little on the details. The curtains were difficult to shut as the track was too ligtweight. Everything in the room was brown which I found a bit gloomy. The entrance hall was dirty and the astroturf was tired which greets you. I heard several people say where is the entrance as there was no welcome sign and two doors. All the windows needed cleaning inside and out including the frames in the bar area. Internal doors were tired and needed decorating. Looked like the electrician had cut their hand fitting the bathroom extractor. Breakfast was average. So for these reasons we also felt it was overpriced.

All the above is easily fixed, and we wish the team a great season.

This hotel is in a fantastic location for the beach and enjoys good parking, we ordered a superior double room (room 208) which was very dated and dark, curtains hanging off in places, I feel sorry for the two lower category rooms If this is the superior room standard. Good and pleasant staff working in a very hard and difficult situation, Breakfast was good, they are doing it in slots so only one table allowed into the buffet at a time so please be patient. Bude itself is gorgeous but make sure you book your meals well in advance as there is simply not enough restaurants to cope with the present demand.
