A short weekend break in the Gers. Beautiful setting, so peaceful & quiet, glorious sunshine, a choice of original bedrooms each telling a story of their own, couldn't ask for more... Warmly welcomed by Carsten & Klaus, available whatever the request we were made to feel at home. Excellant address, highly recommended, don't miss out.

We stayed for 2 nights in this very nice and charming guesthouse. The only regret we have is that we didn't have more time to spend in this place! Bedrooms are very spacey and are delightfully quaint. Bathrooms are very well equipped and nicely supplied with amenities. Every night a bottle of water is brought to the room. The breakfast... A short weekend break to attend a friend's 60th birthday celebrations in the village - stayed in this lovely Bed & Breakfast - a typical, traditional ancient stone-built French house, modernised and comfortable, but retaining the charm and character of the original houses. The host, Carsten, is a very attentive one. I had little time at the house and left... More

Two fabulous days in a beautiful and historic location. On arrival we we're given a warm welcome, afternoon tea on the terrace overlooking stunning views. Carsten could not have done more to make our visit special, he is the most brilliant host. Breakfasts were exceptional with huge attention to detail. When we knocked on the door of La Porte Fortifiee, a head popped out the second floor window and said, "Ah Halina and Neil, welcome." Seconds later, our host Carsten, opened the door to a hotel like no other. Charming, exquisitely decorated sitting rooms, a tranquil garden out back overlooking the French countryside of Gers - all of this for... More

A home away from home in this quaint and beautiful little village in the Gers. The hotel owners, Carsen & Klaus played wonderful hosts offering an air of a home away from home. The rooms were beautifully decorated, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was a feast every morning and the beauty of it all is that you could request what time... More

My partner and I debated about staying here, with me usually preferring the anonymity of hotels when travelling but the reviews were so good for this B&B that we decided to stay - and now we're debating as to who should take credit for finding it!! There are some who offer accommodation to make money and nothing else and accordingly,... More

We spent three nights here in the autumn of 2013. The house and garden are beautiful and we were very well looked after. Carsten is very hospitable, and spent lots of time making sure we were comfortable, and Klaus is an excellent cook. Thoroughly recommended.

“It's in a very quiet spot, at the end of the road with little - if any - noise. WiFi was very strong in my room (the Africa Room overlooking the street (it's a cul de sac, very, very quiet. cars can't pass. You can park in front of the town hall - about 30 metres away, for free. Or IF it gets 'busy' (unlikely!) then there are places on the street.”
