I’m posting this review in English because my French isn’t good enough :-) We booked a 10 night stay at Blue Mountain lodge, this was our second visit (1st time was in December of 2017). I talked about returning many times during the last couple of years so was a bit worried at first my expectations would be too high. I’m glad to report it was everything I remembered and hoped for! The lodges are situated on a hill overlooking the dense nature parc and the sea. The bed is comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped if you want to cook yourself (no real oven, there’s a microwave), the bathroom is roomy and everything is just utterly lovely and charming. When it’s raining you can comfortably relax on the daybed while enjoying the view and the sound of the downpour. When the sun is shining you’re greeted by little colibri birds flitting about. We had a pet mabouya who came out at night and left us little presents in the morning, lol. It’s nature, it feeds the soul! At night after the sun has offered a spectacular light show, you get to sit in the dark, have a Ti Punch, perhaps nibble on some chocolate from the Maison du cacao and listen to the frogs. Bliss!! Laurence has provided a detailed binder with details on everything there is to do and enjoy near and a bit further, but if you have questions she’ll definitely be able to provide an answer. We asked to have breakfast delivered every morning, which I very much recommend. You’ll get bread and a pastry, jam, yoghurt, fresh local fruit and a choice of coffee, tea or chocolate milk. Every thing you need to start your day. The beaches are 15/20 minutes away. At Malendure you get to see the turtles if you’re lucky (had one swim underneath our kayak on the way to Pigeon island) . It’s a quirky black sand beach with lots of little food stands. Definetely try bokit with smoked chicken, have a Nutella pancake with coconut and the everpresent sorbet coco! At night you can have dinner at a couple of small restaurants at Bouillante if you want, or grab a pizza and enjoy it in your lodge. That’s how wonderful memories are made! At Poine Noire there’s a bakery, a supermarket, a place that grills chicken and ribs and the like. Not a whole lot to do, but enough to get you by. In the other direction you’ll find Deshaies (where BBC’s Death inParadise is filmed and where you’ll find some restaurants) and the big golden beaches of Grand Anse and Anse de la Perle. We’ve been home for 10 days now and already thinking about coming back...too bad we only have a limited number of days off from work!

After a great week at Beausejour Guest House we arrived home and felt like we left a small part of our hearts there. In the night we would go to sleep with the beautiful sounds of the forest and wake up to the singing of birds and a cool breeze. Every day we would watch a different sunset, like a painting on a canvas. The lodge we rented was Blue Mountain, and we were NOT disappointed. The lodge was equipped with everything you need day by day for a good stay (refrigerator, microwave, etc.) and it was very clean...and we had a jacuzzi!! The food was also very tasty (especially the home made bread). There are a lot of things to do everyday so you will not get bored and we recommend that you plan your trips before arriving. The real surprise was the owners! They were very friendly and dependable and acted more as your friendly neighbor rather than hosts: always available, always helpful and always with a smile! The information booklet that they gave us on arrival proved really helpful. (Thanks again, Laurence and David!) If you're still thinking if this is a right place for you, then you can put away those thoughts and book a stay at Beausejour Guesthouse in Guadeloupe.

WOW! Great view, peaceful surroundings and waking to the sound of birds chirping in the morning all make for a wonderful stay, but the real charm here is the owners. Being American and speaking no french I was a little concerned on how we would communicate, but google translator made that a non issue. Prompt replies to my initial inquires and a friendly, welcoming greeting from Laurence upon arrival put us at ease immediately! The airline had lost my luggage and David offered to pick it up at the airport when it arrived ( he works near there) to save us a trip back to Pointe au Pitre. This is way above what would normally be expected of a host. The lodge Tarrazu is well equipped with everything you could possibly need, a welcome salad for the first night and supplies for an initial breakfast - there are two supermarkets to supply you after that in nearby Boulliante. A cool breeze will lull you to sleep at night (with no need for AC) in a very comfortable four poster bed. Stunning! We look forward to a return to Guadeloupe in the future and will definitely book this lodge again

Superb spot located in Pointe-Noire on top of a hill close to the 'Saut d'Acomat'. Very welcoming charming hosts. All necessities were available in our Tarrazu lodge. The view was breathtaking, which could also be seen directly from our bed, especially at sunset! Such a serene place to relax with beautiful surrounding and also ideal for bird spotting. Breakfast was varied each day of our stay and served on our terrace. You could order dinner (fine dining local dishes) in advance, which was also a delight. Parking is possible just outside your lodge. One advantage of driving so high up a hill is that it's not a busy area so you're likely not to get disturbed. Definitely will return again!

We spent a week at Beausejour Guest House and absolutely loved it. The lodge (Arabica) was very convenient and well equipped. It was great having the kitchen and sitting area on the veranda with the wonderful views. And we spend good times relaxing in the comfortable hammock. The location is very quiet with birds singing and pretty little humming birds flying by. The bed was comfortable and so was the shower. The only downside of our stay was that there were very many mosquitoes (october) which apparently is quite rare. Nevertheless it was great being there. And the nearby waterful was absolutely great for a swim and a picnic. The owners are very friendly too. I warmly recommend this accommodation and would gladly stay there again.
