We met at the Studley Castle Hotel as a group of 8 friends (4 couples) after an almost 2 year hiatus due to the pandemic. We, belatedly, celebrated a 70th birthday and we did so in style! The hotel is in a beautiful location and is fronted by an imposing and impressive building. The Studley rooms were very comfortable, some had walk-in showers, some over the bath, so if this is an issue it is worth checking which you have been allocated. The real attraction of this hotel are the staff who, without exception, were friendly, engaging and very helpful. Despite the fact that, like much of the hospitality trade recently, they have had to recruit and train staff very quickly they carried out their roles really well! Service in the bar and restaurant was always very good and we wanted to record a particular shout out to Lauren, who after a very short while remembered the drinks order, our names and our room numbers! and to Brease who was a very new addition to the team but was engaging and helpful and, most of all, had a wonderful sense of humour! All the food we were served was good both at dinner and breakfast. The reintroduction of a buffet breakfast was most welcome! We all particularly enjoyed the entertainment. Whilst it was disappointing that Mud 2 were cancelled at the 11th hour due to illness it didn't stop us enjoying the live music they put on at what was very short notice. There is a very pleasant stroll along the Arden way to Studley and we can recommend a pint or 2 at the Little Lark. A great afternoon spent talking over old times. Well done to the Warner team....A great stay!!

Hotel's Favourite
Booked a Warner Leisure Break to see Russell Watson which was superb. However, so were the supporting acts. Gareth Oliver the ventriloquist was so funny, and the house band was really good. We wanted a relaxing weekend so we spent time in the pool, and had massages.. lovely. Food and drink were all great and plentiful. The room was lovely with aircon which helped have a good nights sleep. (Although the bed was a little hard). All of the staff are so friendly and helpful. We reserved a table for a meal and kept it for the whole of the break which was a great idea. Lovely walks, the hotel is so clean and safe for the situation that we find ourselves in with Covid. The hotel is really impressive looking with activities running throughout the day & evening. This can also go into the night if you wish. Really impressed with both the Hotel & the idea of the Warner Break as this was our first one with Warner. Don't think it will be our last.

Before I start my review, I must inform you that I gave Bourne leisure every opportunity to set matters straight. I sent a complaints review, of which automated message tells me some will be in touch with 28 days. I feel this is not good enough, but was unable to e mail direct as there is no address printed. My first impression of booking on line was fairly simple. Our break was for 2 on the 4th to the 6th August. My son asked if he could join us, I was unable to book a room on line. I thought I could book direct. This was the most TRAUMATIC phone call I could experience. I spoke to a man named Alex. He tried to change the booking to 4, but told me that it would be a suite, costing in excess of £200 per couple. So he he suggested that He cancel all the booking and restart afresh. This is went along with. He told me that my original booking would cancel and my refund would be within 28 days. Unacceptable in my opinion. As he sounded confident that he could book 2 rooms at the original cost of£518 each, I let him go ahead. When he finalised the booking he realised he had made a mistake and that he was unable to give me the original back, and that I would have to have 2 rooms costing over £1400. This was unacceptable, he also said that he could not re-instate my original room. He assured me that he would speak to head office to set the matter straight. As promised he rang the next day, to say that there was nothing he could do so that if we still wanted to come it would be at the inflated price. I was cross I told him to cancel booking , he did so with NO apology. My husband range head office, where we spoke to a kind lady who sorted everything out. On a positive note the castle is a stunning place. The dining experience is awful. The first night my husband wanted lamb shank, only to be told this was off and had been replace with GAMMON, not great with roast all the trimmings, poor substitute. The second night my husband asked for the steak to be rare. Once again this was nasty, it was well done and very tough. Only 1 out of 4 of us had dessert as the selection was reduced. After about 3 weeks I received an e mail, NOT regarding my complaint but to say my bill had not been finalised. Yet on check I paid what was on my bill. I was asked to ring, of which I did, the phone constantly rings with no answer. So I replied to the email explaining that I have all my credit card bills stating my payments. Still NO REPLY. Absolute JOKERS Rooms D40 and 42

We booked the 1st to 3rd September because of the Rod Stewart concert to coincide with our 57th wedding anniversary. We were so disappointed to learn at 5.30 when we arrived that the show would not be taking place, surely we should have been informed earlier of this situation, we would not have driven all the way to Studley Castle. Surely a company the size of Warner’s would have the decency to make guests aware of this situation earlier. We would have preferred to book another date. We were not very excited about the menu in the restaurant. After saying that the staff were very helpful. We will certainly not be visiting one of your venues in the future.
