We had an amazing stay!! The hosts take incredible care of you. They have a background in hospitality and it shows, from the way the bed is made up and the food is presented to the quality of service. Our room had a new super comfy mattress and this awesome mosquito tent over the bed. So easy to get in and definitely keeps critters out. The air con works great too. Everything was clean and comfortable. The location is great. Short bike ride to the ruins. The food is possibly the best part about this place. Huge feast for breakfast and dinner and it is all absolutely delicious. So much variety! Can’t rave enough about the meals. You must eat here!

Off the main road, this little guest house offers some peace and quiet to relax after some exhausting sightseeing in Polonnaruwa. The rooms are clean and spacious enough with attached bathroom. Some are AC, some non-AC for whatever budget you are traveling on. The rates are appropriate for what you get. You can also have food there, which is delicious. I stayed there for 3 nights and ate different dishes, all of which were yummy. Service was also very good. Lucky, the owner, can also help you if you want to rent a bike or do some tours. Prices there were also all right. The only disadvantage might be that it is not in town, but it also depends on what you are looking for. I would recommend this hotel and definitely stay there again.

Although the bathroom was dirty and the bed smelled like mold, it has nice surroundings. The food was good, but a bit pricey.

Stayed here for two nights and had a lovely stay. The owners were so welcoming and accommodating. They went above and beyond and we really appreciated the little extras ( providing free fresh papaya juice and ice cream while waiting for our room to be made up). We had dinner at the guesthouse, which was delicious and you will definitely not go hungry. It's a great location, being only a couple minutes drive from the ancient ruins. I would def recommend this place to people looking for budget accommodation.

We made a booking by way of email. We were travelling with a sri lankan couple who also booked and paid in advance (we were not asked to pay in advance). Upon arrival we were told that they do not take bookings by way of email. They repeatedly insisted that this was the case. When I produced an email from them confirming the booking, the story changed and they said that the booking was made by their brother but the message was not passed along due to a sick child. We then had to find a different hotel to stay in. Our friends asked for a refund so they could stay with us as we were travelling together. This was refused.

We also ate at here. The food was terrible and service very slow. My fruit salad was full of dirt - it appeared that it had been dropped on the ground and then picked up.

This guest house was recommended to us by a Tuk Tuk Driver that took us to the bus station in Anurdhapura (where we started our journey to Polonnaruwa). The staff were extremely friendly and tried their best (on several occassions) to sell us day trips to Minneriya & take us around their wood carving shop. They did help to organise a driver for us, to take us to Sigirya and Dambulla. The driver was a lovely man and clearly knew the area very well, but the vehicle wasn't what we were expecting based on the description from the hotel staff (no air con in sight!).

Our room at the guest house was very very basic, dark and and not too clean. The shared veranda where breaksfast and dinner were served was much nicer, we spent most of our time at the guest house here.

The guest house is in a really good location for the ancient city of Polonnaruwa (which was amazing!). The staff arranged cycle hire for us, which enabled us to see most of the city in one afternoon - it was a great way of getting around. There isn't much else nearby. We walked into the new town one evening but wouldn't really recommend this, the walk along the road was quite dangerous and there wasn't much to see once we arrived.

We ate breakfast and dinner at the guest house - the curry was lovely but we wouldn't recommend the western dishes.

The staff gave us some useful advice when we moved onto our next destination, they even gave us a backie on their motorbike to the road to catch the bus (don't expect a helmet!).

I visited Polonnaruwa for an official reason this April. I chose Summer Village resort for my stay because I was travelling alone and secured environment was the top priority in my list. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Ms Tharang took special effort to provide tasty and hygenic meals for me during my stay. Her freshwater fish curry is a must try. The room was clean so does the washrooms. Altogether my stay at this property was a pleasant and memorable one.
