Can’t put into words that do this place enough justice…. It was an amazing experience from start to finish. Our trip started with the executive transport pick up which we arranged through the hotel. Air conditioned, with ice cold face flannels and water waiting in the car for when we got in. The arrival at the hotel saw us greeted by a staff member who gave us a welcome drink, another ice cold flannel and a corsage for me to wear. After being shown to our room our luggage was delivered shortly after by the hotel porters. The air conditioned room was even better than the photos we saw online. We stayed in the D-buk family suite which was incredibly spacious. There was a walk in closet with ample storage for clothes and luggage. It also housed the room safe for your valuables. In the entrance way there was a tea/coffee making area with a mini fridge and mini bar. Complete with a kettle, l’Or coffee machine, selection of mugs and glasses. The free tea/coffee/milk was topped up at least once a day. There was a separate toilet and shower and two wash basins. The complementary toiletries smelled divine too. The bed was huge and extremely comfy. The hotel app allowed you to access a pillow menu to ‘order’ from a choice of different pillows if you didn’t find the feather pillows to your liking. In the room there was a free standing and huge bath… excellent for relaxing in after a long flight. The maid service was amazing… with beds made, room cleaned and supplies restocked twice a day. The maid also came every evening to light an anti mosquito incense ring on the patio. Outside of the room it was like a magical village instead of a hotel complex. The grounds were well maintained (we watched staff collect coconuts from the trees whilst pruning the trees at the same time). There was a selection of places to eat and drink… each producing great quality, fresh food. The staff were professional and polite at all times. The three pools were immaculate and all serviced by the bars/cafes mentioned above…. Meaning you could get food and drinks when needed. There was an endless supply of lemon infused iced water available free of charge by each pool too. When talking about food… I have to mention the highly acclaimed Black Ginger restaurant. (Definitely book ahead) The experience starts with a raft ride (more a floating platform) from the hotel side to the restaurant. Once inside the staff were attentive and polite. The food was delicious and the chef even came out to introduce herself to every diner. We chose from the a la carte menu, having a starter, mains and the most amazing Indigo ice cream each. With a bottle of sparkling water and a bottle of wine we paid approximately £90 all together…Comparable in style and quality to a high end UK restaurant… it was amazing value. The hotel also had a selection of free activities that could be booked such as volleyball, archery and water sports. A kids club was available too. The onsite spa had a variety of services available to help you relax eg massage, IV therapies etc.. in clean and relaxing surroundings. Those wanting to venture outside of the hotel grounds for a swim could collect a towel at the gate to use on the beach (which was literally across the road) There was a huge choice of mini marts, restaurants, street food vendors and bars etc within walking distance. On the day we left we had an evening flight so we were a little worried about having to hang about in the heat after check out… we shouldn’t have though… we checked out our room at 12 noon. Had a swim and soaked up some sun for a bit longer… had a final meal (with cocktails during happy hour) and accessed the gym complex to shower and change ahead of our departure. Then once again we travelled in an air conditioned car to the airport. As I said, words can’t adequately describe how fantastic this hotel was, or how amazing our holiday was… it truly was the best, most relaxing and most memorable holiday we have ever had.

Hotel's Favourite
Like pretty much everyone who reviews this hotel, we cannot recommend it enough. I wondered if it was 'too good to be true', but it really is that good! From the moment you arrive, you feel like you are in an oasis of calm and luxury and are treated as if you are the most important person there. The resort is absolutely enormous! It took us a couple of days to even find the third pool - it wasn't a problem as all of the pools are incredible and you will find one to suit your mood (we changed location of pool on a daily basis......just because we could LOL!) One of the adult pools has a swim up bar which is just gorgeous - Tor is the barman there and is quite the character - he is amazing and will look after you royally. Ian and Dang are on duty round the other pools and will also look after your every need, and when you go for lunch at the restaurant, Ball will be on duty to make you feel special. The food is amazing - Soo at Breakfast will cater for your every need and with such a huge (and delicious) selection of foods you could spend all day there and will be spoilt for choice. The rooms are gorgeous - really comfy beds and a really good replenishment system of drinking water in your room each day - even the housekeeping staff are really friendly - the staff work ethic throughout the hotel is the best we have ever experienced in over 20 years of travelling to Thailand. The hotel itself is so well designed, it will take your breath away. Whoever dealt with the little touches as a nod to the history of being a tin mine deserves a medal - wherever you look or turn, there is a style statement which adds to the whole experience without being over the top. We bought lots of things from the hotel shop as we loved the whole design. My husband had a few health issues whilst we were there which were dealt with swiftly and professionally by the in house First Aid team, something we really appreciated as it is scary being ill when on holiday in a foreign country. Nothing was too much to ask. Nai Yang itself is also really lovely - the beach is just outside the hotel where you can find all sorts of food, massages from the ladies in the yellow tops on the beach (who are SUCH fun - give them a go - they've been without any earnings during all of Covid so are delighted to welcome you) and sunset bars to die for - the view is amazing when you watch the sun dissolve into the sea - just magical. As everyone has said, this really is a top class hotel with service and attitudes from the staff making this a truly memorable experience - we will be back as soon as we possibly can!

Dear Guest, Wow, what a headline! Your review is too good to be true :-) but after sharing with the team, they all agree that it is true. You made Khun Tor, Khun Ian, Khun Soo, Khun Dang and Khun Ball very proud today and this give them all further encouragement to continue to exceed guests expectations. It is them who make our guests feel at "home away from home" and deliver the genuine Thai hospitality the country is known for. I am glad to hear that you managed to find the third pool in only a couple of days, it took me more than 3 days when I started working at The Slate...LOL The Slate was designed by world-famous architect Bill Bensley. It combines industrial elements with traditional Thai décor and cutting edge art, set against a lush and opulent tropical paradise. I am thrilled to hear that you have enjoyed the style and the little touches. I am glad to know that our team were able to assist your husband and they all wish him well. We can't wait to welcome you back for another memorable stay, and please feel free to contact me directly and I will be more than happy in looking personally after your arrangements. With warm regards, Claude Claude Sauter General Manager / The Slate claude@theslatephuket.com

Stunning Rooms and Hotel Grounds. Spotless pools and amazing sunset at the beach. Breakfast and evening Dining at the Tin Mine Restaurant was outstanding. Loved the unique overall design and style of the resort. Loads of fresh fruit, food stalls and beach restaurants right on the beach. Half day diving from See Bees on the hotel grounds was excellent and great value. Gym facilities were first class with very high quality equipment and a great environment. Staff were a delight and would 100% recommend.

Where to begin? In a word, The Slate is magnificent! Our first time in Thailand and what a place to pick! Our stay was so fabulous that we have booked again for the same time next year. Our family had the privilege to stay in the 2-bed villa and WOW! Our own private oasis. Beautiful rooms, comfortable beds, and a lovely pool, which was the size of what you might find in a boutique hotel. Everything was so perfect that we hardly wanted to leave the villa! The food too was exquisite (Tin Mine, The Rivet, Black Ginger) but what added an extra layer to the excellence were the wonderful staff, who would always greet you with a smile and go the extra mile if you needed anything. I cannot end the review without mentioning the wonderful Nim, who was outstanding! We only hope that she is still there when we return next year! Thank you The Slate - memories are made of this!

I was recommended to stay at The Slate by a friend who said "you definitely will not regret it" and so right on that statement. From the time I set foot onto the premise, the reception decor is already putting me on vacation mode. The lotus flower theme is throughout the hotel from the welcome corsage to Black Ginger plate decor.... The staff are very warm and attentive where they make you feel connected and looked after by them. I love the Stockroom, each piece of item there is so unique. From the clothes, to the cutleries, to jewelry, vases, clutches, they carry a different style. Having the Stockroom above Tin Mine is like having colorful butterflies on top of the mine! I love the 3 different pools, each for each unique purpose (kids/families, quiet, mingling with drinks). The rooms are very beautifully designed and the mirros are well places to create a different perspective of the space. Definitely love The Slate and will visit again.

We picked this hotel based on the reviews we read and also the design seemed intriguing and a little bit different . Plus the airport is only 15 minutes away. We were not disappointed and very sorry to leave and looking forward to returning soon. We had a very comfortable and spacious room with lots of outdoor space and were well looked after by housekeeping. The grounds are spacious and beautifully maintained and all the staff acknowledge you as you pass by. There are 3 pools including an adults only one. However we prefer the beach rather than sitting by a pool and a huge beach is just across the road. Although it is a public beach it is very clean and loungers are available at a very reasonable rate. The sunsets are amazing and around 6.30 people congregate just to watch. We only had one meal apart from breakfast at the hotel as it is much cheaper to eat at the beach restaurants of which there are plenty. The meal we did have at the hotel was at Black Ginger and it was an amazing experience. To get there you have to cross over the water in a very comfortable boat. The decor is beautiful , the food was wonderful and the service was excellent. I think this is a very well managed hotel and the staff are all very helpful and seem happy in their work. Hopefully it won't be too long before we return.

The level of detail and care demonstrated by the staff at The Slate is truly unique. For the past decade, I have consistently chosen this haven for my getaways, and each visit is always uniquely different. The Slate's environment is not only exceptional but also ever-changing, offering a unique experience with every stay. Be it a refreshed menu or venue enhancements (like the upgraded spa), The Slate never ceases to amaze. This adaptability ensures that every visit remains fresh and exciting, continually surpassing expectations. This particular trip stood out, even though it was a brief one-night stay. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we experienced the best of hospitality. From providing delectable snacks during our afternoon tea in the room to surprising us with champagne accompanied by a beautifully penned message upon our return from dinner, their attention to detail was extraordinary. Such meticulous service and personal touches are rare, setting The Slate apart from other luxury establishments I've encountered in my extensive travels around the world. It's this unparalleled experience that cements The Slate not just as a destination, but as a journey of discovery and luxury, time and time again. I'll be back again very soon. NUMI & WILLIAM D Thank you so much for the lovely stay

paradise on a quiet beach. the hotel has three different pools where everyone can find their favorite. many many restaurants and bars. breakfast outdoors and is very comprehensive. the area is large and the rooms are very different. own villas are also available. the beach is easily accessible from the hotel. there you can find more restaurants, massage places, bars, a grocery store and a really good pharmacy. some of the rooms are quite old and need renovation. I have big cracks in the bathroom windows, so all kinds of bugs were inside. so if you are afraid of bugs, this jungle-like hotel is not for you. my air conditioning also stopped working. The phone in the room did not have any instructions on how to call help. so I had to walk there. And nobody was sorry. it was fixed for the night, but it was blowing full 19 degree air all night. i.e. the temperature or power could not be adjusted. was still broken. when I left, I said this, and still no one was sorry about it. this is why I didn't give full marks. I recommend the hotel to everyone. a plus is that it is approx. 10 minutes drive from the airport.
