We had a lovely 2 week stay here, the Hotel is lovely very clean and tidy with the most beautiful grounds. The breakfast was awesome with a good selection of food ( far more choice than the lunch/dinner so I personally would not recommend paying for half board. Happy hour cocktails at the bar were lovely between 4 and 6pm (Thanks Bee) I loved the fact that yhd hotel has a policy of no towels on sunbeds before 10! ( there are signs warning people) A staff member removes towels and books etc and takes them to Reception. This allows a fairer system rather than people putting a towel down at 7 then not appearing until mid afternoon. A few people were angry but I found it quite amusing and hopefully it teaches people not to be so selfish. There is a brilliant night market behind the hotel which is a 15/20 minute walk that's worth a visit too. I would recommend this Hotel fully.

It was my maiden international tour and we, a group of two couples with young kids travelled Phuket last year.
After rigorous research, we zeroed upon Thavorn Palm Beach Resort at Karon Beach. A decision, that shall keep a young memory for us, forever. Since we were 4 adults and 2 kids, we chose their room tittled as "2 bedroom family suit with terrace." It was basically a lavish apartment without a kitchen. The setup comprised a large living room with two bedrooms. Both bedrooms had separate ensuit washrooms. Key features:-
1. Two couples can stay with partial privacy owing to separate washrooms. 2. One of the bedrooms and the living room setup has separate balconies overviewing the garden. 3. The rooms are sparking clean. Though the property is old, it's thoroughly well maintained. 4. The pool is wonderful. Generally, a pool doesn't lure me when the sea is around, but this time, it could attact me.. spent a few hours at the pool with my family and friends. 5. The breakfast spread is to die for, the wide option will definitely puzzle you from where to start with. 6. Karon Beach is just across the road... Will take a couple of minutes stroll to reach the beach from your room.

Highly recommended resort in Phuket. If you want a traditional Thai resort experience and are tired of branded hotels that have the same vibe literally everywhere, PLEASE TRY THIS RESORT. My friends and I wanted to try some authentic thai resort experience and decided to stay at Thavorn Palm Resort.
PRO: 1. Location: It is located right in front of Karon Beach and you're able to catch the sunset almost everyday unless it's raining. 2. Rooms: The rooms were newly renovated so it was very comfortable. Definitely fits a 4.5 star resort. The beds are big, room is spacious and it comes with a balcony where you can dry your clothes after a swim. The bathroom is all marbled and can definitely tell that this hotel really are trying to make the guests comfortable. 3. Garden/ Pool facility: This hotel is apparently over 40 years old so what you get that you are unable to get in a branded hotel is the history and the garden that comes with it. All the trees and flowers are carefully crafted and they are such a pleasure to walk in in the morning. It feels like you've stepped into a whole different resort once you're at the garden. Pool is fun!! There's a big water slide which is a great place to let kids and adults alike, enjoy some splashed water. 4. Food/. F&B: This resort has a great desert cafe and a restaurant with aged steak, authentic thai food and italian. Their pizza oven is high end (i know this because my family owns a italian restaurant) and they did not go cheap on the steak as well. The food is very very tasty and yes, it might be pricer than street food in phuket but if you want to just relax and enjoy a comfortable atmosphere with clean food, Ciao is definitely a place to go. I recommend Rib Eye Steak, Truffle Pasta, Four cheese pizza and the Pad Thai.
6.Petting Zoo: I've never seen a silky chicken before lol but they are so gentle and sweet. This resort has baby pigs you can feed, birds, rabbits, 75 year old Tortoise and chickens. It's definitely a one-of-a-kind experience that you cannot get anywhere. The kids loved it and the interactive experience is what makes this place memorable.
CON: Mosquitos. But what can they do, we are in Southeast Asia. But they provide mosquito sprays in every room and every staff has one on them so just ask if you need it!

Cons Rooms not ready for early arrival. We arrived at 10am and waited until the 3 pm check in time They will charge you premium for everything. - Floaties for kids at pool should be free or cheaper Food/alcohol Kids cut feet on broken pool tiles They off credit if you turn down room cleaning. I had two room for multiple days and when I went to get free ice cream was told I can only use one credit at a time. What??? They made me pay even though I had so much credit for not using room cleaning for days.
Also: Painting for kids is $15 Petting zoo at two time slots. Kids love it but I felt bad for how some of the animals were treated.

Hotel was excellent, room is renovated and very clean, so lovely decoration room. Have 4 swimming pools. My room was garden access, I could see the pool and slider from my room and it was very easy to access. I enjoyed drinking beers at pool side a lot. I saw promotion that if you pay 500thb/ day can get unlimited drink at pool bar, but only could buy the promotion at reception, so I could not join it since I was swimming.
In hotel I found so many old antique stuffs, they are so beautiful, especially some wall was made by stone and has beautiful carving. Breakfast was very testy, many kind of foods. I also went to see Animals around 2pm, met lovely rabbit , alpaca, goat and turtles. I would like to come to stay here again. Thank you very much!

We booked 4 nights via booking.com this October and left after our first night due to many problems and awful customer service.
Firstly upon arriving to check in at 3pm we were told by front desk staff (a lady) that someone was still in our room and it was being cleaned so we would need to wait. After speaking to Adel, he told us this was not the case but the room was not ready and made us wait in the VIP area for 35 minutes for our room. We were tired and just wanted to go straight to our room and rest but didn’t put up much fuss.
After finally getting to our room, it was shabby and old fashioned. It looks nothing like the pictures on booking.com. This is the general feel of Thavorn. Walking around the hotel and grounds, it is in serious need of refurbishment and upgrading. It is not charming just shabby.
The shower in our room went from scalding to Luke warm and cold without touching any buttons or adjusting the temperature which we showed to staff who did nothing about it.
The pool areas look old and the cabanas are dirty. Most worryingly, children coming down the slides were warning other children about spikes sticking out of the slides and hurting them when they were going down. Funnily enough the slides were shut after this and workers were sanding them down. I would not let children on these slides. Serious health and safety concerns.
Breakfast was good, lots of choices and fresh omelette station with ample tea / coffee and delicious fresh waffles. This was the only positive of Thavorn.
After complaining to Adel at the front desk that we would like to leave and be refunded the 3 nights that we were not going to stay, he said this would not be possible and didn’t even offer an upgrade to a nicer room or anything. Staff on front desk have no authority and take orders from the manager. We were told the manager would come and visit us in the morning. She did not bother to come and we were told she was too busy managing the other site that Thavorn has. Finally Adel informed us after speaking to his manager on the phone that we would be refunded 2 nights only. So we would lose our money for one night but for us it was not an option to stay here.
All in all, we would never return and strongly recommend you look at other hotels in Karon beach before making the same mistake we did. There are better places for the same price. We moved to the Hilton and had a fantastic experience at Karon beach after the awful start at Thavorn.

We only choose this hotel since we are with 2 kids & the kids fun amenities where promising:
So let’s start with the positive aspects here:
3 pools to enjoy. Kids club, small but ok. Quality of FOOD very good as anywhere in phuket. Room size good. Location on the Karon beach side. 4 Water slides, (the fastest one in the middle bad condition and fixed few times so quite hurting when sliding down, many complains here).
Negative:
Room condition really bad, not very clean, plugs & light switches behind the bed head still have to be used to switch lights on are very dirty :-(.
Rooms itself very old, furniture broken, tiles cracked, silicon rubbers in the bathrooms have fungus & are missing partly.
Blue heaven pool bar very unfriendly, even encouraging the guests to go to reception to complain, terrible service here, first time in Thailand sich a bad Service received in 7 years and on top in a hotel.
All Pools had many tiles broken, dangerous for kids to get cuts anywhere possible.
Quality of food good as I said but to little choice for staying longer, many is very small.
Check in is at 3pm we got the room at 3pm & even this was a challange for them.
We booked 5 month in advance purchased resort credit but than have been limited in the way we wanted to spend it & no reimbursement here possible also. When asking for a lost room key card 250 Thai baht are charged, insane bad service here.
The lounge acces, sorry but a total failure. Fruits, coffee and water, embarrassing for a 4 star hotel, after 1pm no sandwiches and 0 refill happen till the lounge closes at evening hours, a shame, we observe this during the full wee we stayed. What is worrying the dishes from the clients get washed Dhiaffa in a sink by hand form the staff, no soap, no Sanatorien or sterilisation, very concerning hygiene standards here.
Breakfast large choice but overall quality not satisfying, pasties was really not good, if staying longer, daily the same food in and out, no menu changes.
Many down sides here more to write down but it would take to long.
Overall ! NOT TO RECOMMEND ! to o stay here.

I have been to Phuket before (Patong) so decided to visit a different area. The hotel is lovely but the beach is not great (lots of rubbish and the water was quite rough), There are enough shops and eateries around the hotel to keep you sorted for you stay, We did eat at the hotel (but it was pricey by comparison) that said if you don't get your room cleaned every day (you can put a sign on your door) they offer 150 thai baht credit to use in the restaurant which we took advantage of and I thoroughly enjoyed the arancini balls and the club sandwich (180 and 280 baht respectively).
The room itself was nice and spacious with a balcony overlooking the pool and the sea. The bed was humongous and very comfy. It even had a chaise long for relaxing, nice! The slides were great fun for adults and kids alike but with 3 pools (1 of which has a swim up bar) its easy to escape to your own piece of heaven and just chill in a cabana (which are free for all to enjoy).
Whilst we do not have kids there was a playroom onsite and the resort had gardens that you could walk through and admire the foliage and ornaments. They even put on a mist show on in the evening (although we never managed to see it, 5pm I believe). Again theh do have a gym but we prefer to get our exercise from swimming than the treadmill.

Recently stayed here for 4 nights, as a family of 4. We arrived at the hotel at 1:30pm although check in wasn’t until 3pm and we were meant to be called when our room was ready but upon seeing reception at 4pm about what was happening I was told the room was ready ages ago, a bit disappointing as it’s hard to keep young kids entertained in the waiting areas for that long. Besides that everything else was nice, we had the family interconnecting room which is two seperate rooms with a door in the middle. The resort is quite old but is definitely well maintained with lots of workers around either clearing weeds from the lovely garden or painting an ornament. The marble throughout the resort is a nice touch. The slides are fun for the kids, although very fast especially if your an adult. My wife received a graze on her elbow but the pool attendant applied a band aid, tip is to keep your arm and legs in close to your body. 😃 The swim up is awesome, JJ & Aek are very friendly and happy doing their jobs, as is Hong in the wind song restaurant area. The petting zoo that is on twice a day is a hit with all the kids and definitely not something that is available at any other resort I’ve stayed at. Karon & Patong are quite expensive these days especially after spending 10 nights in Khao Lak prior to this(cocktail bucket at resort in Khao Lak 220baht-here it was 400baht) as an example. All the food we had at the resort was tasty and the breakfast buffet was really good

There are no games room, they do have a gym with changing facilities.
Certain guests have access to the VIP lounge which is nice to have a sit down and eat the complimentary snacks and drinks.
The main pool has 3 slides at different heights, no volleyball
