Discover the Fuerteventura Origo Mare resort, in the north of the second largest island of the Canary Islands. If it had to be summed up in two words, they would be water and fire. Water, of course, for its 150 km of beaches, but also for its vast aquatic space. Fire for its volcanic landscape, the sun that shines almost all year round, the warmth of the atmosphere and the large number of activities.

Our resort is located in this protected environment, a paradise specially designed for holidays. The resort is divided into 5 zones, made up of villas with suites and studios. There are endless activities to do in and around the resort. Sports facilities include tennis and paddle tennis courts, a boules court and an 18-hole mini golf course. Windsurfing, kitesurfing, surfing and many other activities are available at the Yolo Riders surf school.

And those who prefer fresh water will have a great time at the Craterpark. This volcanic-themed aquatic area of 5000 m², of which 1000 m² are water areas, has it all: wave pool, slides, water tree and paddling pool. In addition, our heated pool reserved for adults is a haven of peace and quiet. The little ones can make friends and have fun in our clubs for children from 4 years old.

It should also be noted that, for your convenience, the resort has two restaurants, two snack bars and a bar open all day long.

There is algo a mini-market included in the village.

Parking is posible on all the resort's exterior area. Pets under 25kg are welcome under an extra charge.

I went for a week half board (food was good with a lot of choice) Nov 18th with 3 friends, we stayed in a two bed house which was about 5 mins walk from reception area. My only issue is the pavements need repairing as tiles are all broken, my friend unfortunately had to have a wheelchair while on holiday so we had to wheel her on the road which wasnt ideal. The staff were all very good and all went out of their way to help. Entertainment staff were great the tribute night was hilarious, each day they provide activities eg yoga, quiz coctail making. Hotel is out of the way but a free bus is provided to the local town you must book the day before.

This is the first time I’ve visited this hotel resort and it was a stunning place. The food here was 90% always the same which was sometimes annoying but it was still nice and delicious food so that’s good. The staff here are very friendly in my opinion. When I first arrived I had to pay €200 euros for a room deposit after the holiday was paid for which was not told to me by my booking company loveholidays at all which I think it’s not good we should have been told as I only found out from a review. Regardless of that the staff showed us to our villa on there buggy which I thought was very nice and made us feel welcomed. On like the 4th day we had got told we had to move villas as there was a leak outside the villa but that was there when we got there so we should have been moved earlier but even so we got upgraded to a better villa even though the first villa was very nice. The villas were so nice inside. I think the bedroom in the one bedroom villa should have been a double instead of 2 singles pushed together which was a little annoying but still was comfortable and great. As were was not close to the main town we had to use the bus provided which is only 2 times a day at 10:30 which picks us up at 3:30 and 11:30 which picks up at 5:30. Would have been nice if there was ones that picked up before 3:30 l. The pools here are so nice as there is kids pools and the adults only pool which we used as that was so nice and relaxing to use. We will definitely recommend to anyone coming to the island and will be back in the future.

Hi Luke, We would like to thank you for this feedback about your experience at Pierre & Vacances Fuerteventura Origo Mare. We're thrilled to know that our team’s friendly service made you feel welcomed and that you enjoyed the tranquility of the adults-only pool. It's also great to hear that you found the upgraded villa to your liking and that our resort's food offerings were delicious. We apologise, however, for any inconvenience regarding the room deposit; our aim is to ensure transparency and we're reviewing our communication processes to improve this aspect. Furthermore, the situation with the villa move due to the leak is regrettable but we're glad we could provide a satisfactory solution with an upgrade. We have noted your comments about the bus schedule and will take them into consideration as we strive to meet our guests' needs. We appreciate your recommendation and look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back for another memorable stay. Kind regards, Jill Langer, Guest Manager

Just back from a week away here. We stayed self catering.Weather was beautiful. Its like a giant housing estate. So you may be close to the hotel or you may have a bit of a walk just to keep in mind. The staff there are fantastic and very friendly. Entertainment staff are amazing, Full of energy. The crater Park was great, I can imagine it would be extremely busy during peek times. Opens from 10 to 5, people are using there before hand to save sun loungers. The lifeguards are fantastic, little strict but I'd prefer that to keep everyone safe. Kids who can't swim need life vest, cab be gotten in shop there for 9e. There is a pool bar there, bit expensive. There is a small shop on site and yes it is over priced. We hired out a car as we knew we were away from everything. 20min drive to corralejo where there are shops and restaurants. Just so your aware that you have to pay 200e deposit when you arrive and suppose to get it back when you leave, I haven't received this back yet. When you arrive also and you have your own car, leave bags in car and check in and see where you are as you can drive to the apartment.

Dear Lisa, Thank you for reviewing your recent stay at Pierre & Vacances Fuerteventura Origo Mare. We're delighted to hear that our team made a great impression with their friendliness and energy, and it's wonderful to know that you enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere created by our entertainment team. Our Crater Park is indeed a highlight for many guests, and we're glad you found it to be a great place for fun while appreciating the diligence of our lifeguards in ensuring everyone's safety. We understand that the on-site shop prices may seem higher, which is often the case with the convenience of location, and we're glad you found the car rental beneficial for exploring the local area. Regarding the deposit, our policy ensures that all accommodations are maintained to a high standard for our guests, and while the refund process is typically swift, we acknowledge that delays can occur and are always available to assist with any concerns post-departure. We look forward to welcoming you and your little ones back to our holiday village in the future for more fun at our various pools and Crater Park. Safe travels! Jill Langer, Guest Manager

Just returned from this resort, Had an amazing time. All the staff were very hard working and did a great job. We stayed in villa 482, While it could do with a lick of paint here and there it was very spacious, Comfortable and clean. The kitchen area was well equipped with modern appliances. The bathroom looked like it had been refurbished very modern good water pressure from the shower. The resort is out of the way but there is a free shuttle bus to Corralejo which is roughly half an hour or so away. You have to pay a £200 deposit on arrival but this is released at midnight on your departure day. We traveled with Jet2 this information was clear when booking as you have to tick a box to say you're aware and understand. The entertainment team were very hard working as were other members of the team, Itziar and her colleagues in the lobby bar ,Silvia & Christina all the chef's and team in the restaurant. We will definitely return, Thank you 👍💯

I went to this place in September and will try to give an objective assessment to help others to make a decision as to whether this is for you or not. Our party consisted of a pensioner, a middle-aged partner and our daughter in her early twenties who came as a last holiday fortnight before returning to university to study criminal psychology. This place gave her ample practical experiences before the theory! The vast complex of villas of different types was spread over a very large area and if you are given accommodation like we were when we arrived late / early morning you will need a car just to get to the main building where the restaurant and pool areas are. In fact, the whole sprawling complex is in the middle of nowhere next to an unusable coastline that is almost impossible to get to and about 3 miles from any sort of minor village. Google it on maps. If you don’t hire a car, you will be stuck in this hell of a hotel all the time. I hired a car on the second day I was there and it was the best part of the holiday! The first week we were there it was full of lots of Spanish family’s so a bit chaotic but generally fairly laid back. I found out it was the last week of the national school holidays so they were having a last-minute family holiday. Then the second week came. Changeover day was very peaceful. The quiet before the storm? The first inkling of what was to come was me and my partner were chilling in the adult only pool when a family of husband, wife mother-in-law and two kids turned up. The bloke was obviously drunk and proceeded to jump in the pool complete with the rest of the family. The kids were told by the life guard to vacate and the rest of them left but not before the bloke went flying on the wet floor. The quiet satisfaction slowly circulated around the pool was tangible. We went back to the villa then to change for the evening meal (not that you have as most came in whatever they had been wearing all day, culminating one night with a bloke in his underpants…ISYN) not knowing the mayhem that was to come. The second week the place really came alive, but not in a good way. The meal times were particularly good fun with unruly children with no discernible table manners or behaviour boundaries were let loose by their parents in the restaurant. 4/5/6-year-olds chasing around with massive plates of gloop falling over, plates flying, sticking hands in the gloop to taste it all while their parents concentrated on eating their gloop with their hands! I even got an arm from a 5-year-old in my sweet in her desperation to get at the chocolate sauce before anybody else. I did see her the next day prostrate with a plate of gloop strewn before her so fairs fair. The staff at the door I realised were only there to police the no take out and to take money off people NOT to do anything about behaviour. I do believe at least three quarters of them were second generation no table in the house brigade and do not know how to behave in a restaurant. They were quite at home here for to describe it as a restaurant is to stretch the term beyond belief. If you could describe it as feeding time in a mental institution canteen you would get the general picture. The look on the faces of like-minded people who had unfortunately booked this 4*(hahaha) hotel by mistake like me was a picture. I remember with fond memories the chap desperately trying to self-clean the table his family were on culminating with him pinching the bottle of hand cleanser to use while they were eating. He might as well have had the hand cleanser as no one else was using it. Or the night I saw a cockroach crawl from the door to the kitchen or sitting outside in fly alley desperately trying to cover my food before it got settled on. Or the daily routine of cleaning the chairs from the sticky hands that had previously used them………...yesterday! 1. The accommodation – the villa we were moved to on the second day (we were lucky they changed our villa as it was a half hour walk to the restaurant and I’m 72. Money did change hands!) was quite good it had a ground floor with a lounge and kitchen with a bedroom and bathroom off of it. Another bedroom upstairs and also another bathroom. The kitchen area is fully stocked and is the same for SC, HB and AI. A large fridge freezer which was good because if you are HB or AI, you will need lots of food in it. Generally, the accommodation was good and was cleaned daily. Don’t forget to take a firestick as the TV had one English language channel and you might need the entertainment! 2. General site – think dilapidated time share estate in a 70s Maplin’s with crumbling pavements that need to be renovated. If you’re in a wheel chair or push a buggy it’s the road for you and don’t forget all those, shall we say, well-greased AI holiday makers driving back to their villas on the private roads. Be careful. The clubhouse/hotel furniture is filthy and needs throwing. 3. Pools – the adult pool is very nice and is policed well. It does attract the “look at me brigade” but the main gripe is there was only 4 umbrellas for shade. I think they may have had more in the past but like the rest of the so-called hotel (more of a time share club house) nothing has been replaced for 40 years and the cleaners have given up. The family pools were vast and generally cleaned overnight. But beware the place is heaving with kids and AI drinkers. Where we used to go which was as far away from the pool are as possible on some large loungers, we saw very few kids using the loos and, in the fortnight, I was their none of the pools were closed because of let me say …...floaters! I think at least 5% of the water must be urine or worst. Then there was the music blaring out at 200 decibels. It sounded like your eight year old had turned their music up the high with headphones and plonked them on your head…..and we were the furthest away from it as could be. 4. Restaurant / Food – The cleanliness of the place is terrible. The cleaners have brand new floor cleaners and if you got in early the floors were spotless. Half an hour later it was like the greasy spoon down the road. The tables were only given a cursory clean and I never saw the chairs cleaned at all. Ahh the comedy of walking in and grabbing the cleaner and paper towels to clean my own table and chairs before sitting down. I never got asked why I was doing it! If you want food do not, I repeat, do not come here. I have had better food in two-star hotels in Turkey in the 80’s. In every description of the food, you will see “the bread is very good” and it is. That’s because it’s brought in from a proper bakery pre-done like all the other food that’s not from frozen blocks of cheap fish/meat/? The plates of goop served as “international” foods was laughable. Even my go to meal the soups were a travesty of the name, culminating in the Chinese night noodle soup being a poor French onion soup with noodles chucked in it. And if you think at least, I can have a salad you can but, in the evening, there was nothing to go with it not a bit of cheese or ham……nothing. We ended up smuggling food into the restaurants just so we could have something. The breakfasts were better but only just. Everything was cold or if you were lucky to get first pickings from the heater up people in the kitchen (I don’t think there was a proper chef in there and if there was, he should be ashamed) then tepid. The cold plates didn’t help but the one ray of sunshine is there is a microwave in the restaurant to heat plates and food if you found anything. In the two weeks I was here I never saw a prawn or any fresh crustation, a whole fish, recognisable meat or any fresh produce properly cooked by a chef. Everything was a bad day in weatherspoons complete with the AI drinkers. And the Spanish paella which was a staple every night …. well in my time I’ve eaten this delicacy all over Spain and I can safely say this was the worst I’ve ever eaten and seemed to contain anything from breakfast that was bad enough to be left. Needless to say, we ate out quite a bit. A lot of descriptions say the food is repetitive and they are not wrong. Like prisons at the beginning of the season they priced out the menu for the week then bought in tons of frozen and tinned goods topped up from the Lidl cheap isle then just repeat it every week. Week after week after week. I could go on but by now I think you get my drift. Please be warned and look elsewhere. And if you book this place then good luck!

Day 1 had to be moved from one house to another as when we got back and turned on lights there were 12 cockroaches (probably more) 😳 A lot of drunk adults around kids because that's all there is to do all day. Hotel is very very secluded, you CANNOT walk to a resteraunt or shops or anything.. very very remote. The food is crap I did eat it because I had no choice , but it becomes boring after two days. The same stuff all the time. The pools need updating and are dirty also the family pool to swim at is tiny. They need a bigger pool. Towels were only changed after 3 days. 30 euro into corralejo in taxi we got it 4 times in and out which was 240 euros. Just in taxis . Only two free buses into town during day at 10.30 and 11.30 .. The staff were nice. That's really all the good I have to say. I have never left a review on this, but I felt I had to on this.

Like anywhere, there are good and bad points. Also, whether they matter all depends on what matters to you. A little isolated - the resort is out on its own, nowhere near a town. There is a daily bus (book in advance) which is free, but only goes at 10.30 and 11.30, returning at 3.30 or 5.30. It doesn't allow all that much time in the town. A taxi is also possible, but it soon gets expensive at about 30 euros each way. If going out to the town is important to you, this might not be ideal, however, being isolated also means there is no traffic, which allowed our children a bit more freedom than they might otherwise have enjoyed. Mini-villas rather than hotel bedrooms - The accommodation is mini-apartments, which we quite enjoyed. Again, good for kids as most are on the ground flow, but set back from the road giving some privacy as well. A little kitchen was also useful. Food and Drink - All-inclusive food was reasonably standard for this type of place. Something for the kids, some different things for the adults. These things are mass cooked, so they are never going to be like a posh restaurant, but we were happy enough. The wine wasn't great, but again, would you expect it to be the top drop? The Pool - FABULOUS. Really great for the kids. Can imagine it would be quite busy in peak season, but we got sunbeds or cabana beds every day. The lifeguards are really on it, there is a pool bar and snack bar and a wave machine and slides. Couldn't ask for any more from a hotel pool at all. Dated - the whole place is a bit tired and dated, that's true. The pavements are a bit broken and a few places look like they need a bit of paint. The apartments as well. But it was fine. It's not going to kill you. Beds - in the bedroom fine, but the pull out sofa beds in both our apartments were awful to be honest. I can sleep anywhere, but this was like sleeping on a nail covered wall. This was my biggest down point about the place. Shop and Bars - yes the shop is captive and puts the prices up, but most people are all-inclusive here, so you arent buying much anyway. The bars were all reasonably good - no cause to complain and we enjoyed the evening entertainment, which wasnt as OTT as some places we've been. Overall - This place was decent for the money we paid. Everything has gone up, and this was an affordable option, with weather you can rely on. If you want the beach, or hate being isolated, avoid. If you want a chilled out place where the kids are safe with a great pool and friendly staff, this is a good option. Taxi to the place from Airport was 70Euros each way, so do consider whether a hire-car might be a worthwhile investment. We will get one if we go again.

Definitely not a 4 star complex but would be a good 2 maybe 3 with work, the 2 bed villa we had was at the back of the complex so we always used the car to get to the pools etc, the villa was not in the best shape but have stayed in worse, we had skirting boards falling off, hand rail upstairs was broken, doors would not close properly and just little things braking, the water park unless you where there at 9.30 half hour before it opened you had no chance of getting a bed, we did self catering and it was fine aslong as you had a car as you could not survive with the prices here £4 for bread, £4-5 for a cornetto, £5.50 for super noodles, £6 for a pasta sauce, the drinks at the entertainment ate way over priced £10 for a gin and lemonade, £7 for a cider, £3 for a can of coke, small pizza £10 just ridiculous, entertainment staff save this place massively, where as the reception could not care less, would I go back maybe if I got it for the £340 I paid for the week this time but looking at it normally being over £1500 a week not a chance

The pavements are poorly maintained . Missing and worn away block paving . I was shocked that the hotel hasn’t done anything to rectify this as this is a accident waiting to happen . Pool areas - good choice of slides but again poorly maintained . Pools look like they need a good paint and tiles missing in areas. Lifeguards were great and always on the ball . The queuing system for the main pool was a nightmare . Gates open at 10am and people are queuing from 9:15am to get a sun-bed. We did travel in the kids half term in October and the hotel was full so this may not be as bad during quieter periods. The hotel also had several pools scattered around the resort (some had no water in them ) which seems a lot quieter or empty . The adults only pool was lovely and very quiet . Food - Always something to eat but was very repetitive . Drinks - All the spirits taste the same and have a chemical taste to them . Soft drinks are flat and so sugary we found them undrinkable . The only place to get a decent soft drink is in the restaurant area during meal times - these are branded coca cola etc . Beer we found fine . Villa - Great size and plenty of space for us all. We did have a problem with Ants in certain areas of the villa but this seems to be common throughout the resort . Location - The resort is very isolated and there is nothing really within walking distance . If you’re wanting to be able to walk out on an evening this place is really not for you . The hotel does offer a free shuttle bus to a village 10 mins down the road and also Correlejo . These run twice a day 10:30 and also 11:30 am. Pre booking is essential the day before as it gets booked up quickly. The hotel does offer an onsite shop but this is really expensive. There is a superdino (supermarket) around a 15 min drive away so if you had a car would recommend to stock up !

Dear Holly, Thank you for reviewing your recent stay at Pierre & Vacances Fuerteventura Origo Mare. We are glad to hear that you found our lifeguards to be attentive and our adult pool to be lovely and quiet. We appreciate your kind words about the size and space of our villas. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the maintenance of the pavements and pool areas. We are in constant contact with the municipality to address these issues as this is their responsibility. Regarding the ants, we are located in a natural environment, and our reception team is always available to help with any issues that may arise during your stay. We understand that the queue for the main pool can be challenging during peak times, and we are working on improving this aspect. As for the drinks and food, we offer a variety of options in our restaurants and bars, and we continuously strive to cater to the diverse preferences of our guests. Our holiday village is indeed located in a more secluded area, which many guests find appealing for a relaxing getaway. We do offer a free shuttle service to nearby towns for those who wish to explore the surroundings. We also have an on-site minimarket for necessities, and we recommend visiting the supermarket in Lajares for a more extensive shopping experience. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future for an even better experience. Kind regards, Jill Langer, Guest Manager
