Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Vale House is beautiful, peaceful, and comfortable. I stayed in the Slipper Satin room, which was a great size and very nicely decorated. My private bathroom with claw foot tub was just outside the room and it was huge and spotless. Actually, the whole house was spotless and the grounds were beautiful and well-manicured. Mandy, the owner of Vale House, is funny, friendly, and always pleasant, and she was so accommodating. She is also a very talented chef. The breakfasts and dinner that I had at Vale House were incredible and served in Mandy's beautiful dining room. I can’t wait to return. Thank you Mandy!

We paid a lot more than we would normally pay at a B&B, just for the wonderful experience of staying here. A beautiful Georgian house, set back from the road, and with a nice lawn and flower beds in front. The stairs were rather steep, though, especially if you were staying on the 2nd floor! A comfortable lounge and a beautiful dining room. Nothing was too much trouble for Mandy - everything, she said, was a pleasure. Her table settings were beautiful, and we had a variety of different napkins during our 4-day stay. The meals were to die for, Mandy being a professional cook. It was like spending every evening in a luxury restaurant. We were also treated to canapés beforehand in the lounge. We cannot speak too highly of Mandy's skills as a hostess. By the end of our stay, we felt as if Mandy had become a friend. I would just add that although there is nowhere to park in the street outside, Mandy was happy for us to bring the car up the drive & to park in front of the house.

We stayed at the B&B for two nights. It really was a pleasure to stay and enjoy the excellent accommodation. Mandy our hostess was just fabulous. On the first night a very good friend of ours held his 70th birthday at the house with a party of over 50 guests. It was a wonderful evening in wonderful surroundings of a glorious house. Food was provided by Mandy which she made all herself. It was lovely to just walk up the stairs to our room at the end of the evening. The breakfasts were excellent. Full English with plenty of fresh fruit, cereals, etc., all eaten in the glorious dining room. If you every wish to stay in Chalford then please don't bother staying any where else except Vale House or you will miss out on a very special B&B. Thank you Mandy for looking after us. You are a treasure.

If Carlsberg made hosts, then Mandy would probably be the best in the world. Absolutely stunning house inside and out, sweetest Labradors and an absolutely incredible breakfast and made to feel so welcome. There were 9 of us staying, including 2 children. Thank you Mandy for our wonderful stay!

Owner Mandy was very accommodating and we had a fantastic stay! Our one year old boy also had a great stay. The location is a great base for exploring the cotswolds, Cirencester is a short drive away. Thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts and would definitely return. The green room enables you to have total privacy and there is a large family size bathroom just next door.

I am away from home, traveling on business and having to stay in hotels and B & B's all over the world. I can only say that my four night stay here was just a delight. I have never stayed anywhere where a more hospitable host could be found. Breakfast 10/10, evening meal 10/10. I had a bedroom, a bathroom, a sitting room and a private garden all on the top floor of the house and it was just perfect. (yes, the garden was upstairs too as the property is built on the side of a hill). I will be definitely be back. Thank you Mandy

Should you find yourself anywhere near the delightful village of Chalford in Gloucestershire then be sure to stay at Vale House. Hostess and Owner Mandy Farrah Khan has managed to lovingly restore this charming cotswold house without loosing any of the natural features you'd hope to find in a house of this period. The rooms were clean spacious and very comfortable and breakfast was nothing short of a feast, her two golden Labradors were just the icing on the cake. 10/10
