A note from La Rassada Eco B&B
Updated 02/06/20

A charming B&B in a contemporary barn conversation on the edge of a small village in the Corbieres Maritimes - just 20 minutes from the unspoilt beaches of Leucate and La Franqui. You will have the place to yourselves as we only take one group at a time. The two bedrooms open onto the garden and you have full use of the lounge, dining room and large wooden terrace (large shade sail when necessary). Walking, birding, cycling, mountain biking, wind/kite surfing, castles, fortresses and abbeys - or just chill on our lovely, uncrowded beaches... There's so much to choose from !

My wife, son and father-in-law stayed with Philippa for 3 days in July. We had a lovely time exploring the immediate area during the day and then followed that with nice food and good conversation and banter in the evening on the terrace. Nothing was too much trouble for Philippa from tourist advice, home cooked food and also plenty of laughter!

Forgive my tardy response - but for some reason that the internet gods possibly know about, I have only just found this review! it was a delight to have you all to stay and I am still enjoying the Rooibos tea bags you so kindly left me!!! It is a real privilege to host such an interesting range of people (very young, young and not quite so young!). Many thanks for coming to stay and I would love to have you back any time. Kind regards, Philippa

La Rassada is nestled in a small, quiet, traditional hamlet surrounded by stunning countryside but not far from the coast - paradise for nature lovers. The wealth and variety of the flora and fauna - most notably birds - are a pleasure and a privilege to see. Philippa, the hostess par excellence, has an incredible knowledge of the area which she enthusiastically shares. For those eager to spot birds and flora she’s a mine of information on where to go and when. We saw so much more thanks to her passion for the region. Philippa is warm and welcoming. Her house is stylish, spacious, well equipped and spotlessly clean. You can take in the stunning view from the enormous living room window whilst enjoying a generous breakfast. There are several good restaurants (and vineyards) in the area but top marks to the hostess for her dinner menu prepared with local, good quality ingredients. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Rassada and fell in love with the area. Thank-you Philippa.

We loved our stay, so much to do and see, spectacular views and walking through the hills, wild flowers and birds watching. A wonderful b and b, we will be back! We flew from Bristol to Toulouse and drove 1 1/2 hours, very easy journey.

We had a great stay with Phillippa at La Rassada. You will receive a warm welcome and the room and facilities are modern and comfortable. Great home cooking. Drinks on the deck with its views to the hills is a great way to end the day.

We stayed 6 nights with Philippa. Bird watching was the prime reason we opted to say at La Rassada, but we experienced much more and learned a great deal about the Languedoc region. Philippa arranged day trips with several talented English-speaking local birders. She also took a day trip with us to some of the best local attractions, and pointed us to others that we otherwise would have missed. She also provided breakfast each morning (included) and prepared several picnic ruin cheese and dinners (extra charge) - all were well done, and worked around my dietary foibles (I don't eat meat). Our room was very comfortable and with the fresh and brisk country air new slept very well. There's even wi fi - a bit slow at times, but more than serviceable. A very memorable stay - thanks to other TA reviewers for pointing the way!

Room Tip: You'll need a car - and probably a GFPS - to get to Feuilla and to travel around Languedoc.
