We stayed here for a month, Jan - Feb and had an amazing time. This is a very special place. The environment is delightful, with pretty houses arranged around a pool and in meticulously maintained gardens. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and well equipped. There is also a very good on site restaurant. The reception and housekeeping staff, Vera and Gudrun, go out of their way to make your stay perfect. Vera recommended restaurants and places to visit and all were great! There is a stunning beach, Praia da Marinha, a 2.5 mile walk away and another at Benagil. You can visit so many lovely places easily by car. You definitely need a car to get about. The only slight negative I would mention is that the house we stayed in was rather tired, particularly the bathrooms. Would that stop us going back? Absolutely not!…
We spent a lovely two weeks in a smart townhouse in Quinta do Rosal in western Algarve (May 2019). We booked direct with the management who speak superb English and who were very accommodating when we had to change our dates at short notice. The site is beautifully landscaped and the townhouses and villas are peacefully situated in small groups. Our two-bedded villa was spotlessly clean, well equipped, spacious and comfortable. We often ate on the pretty terrace overlooking the flower-filled gardens. The wi-fi worked very well. The site is accessed down a quiet cul-de-sac so traffic noise was virtually non-existent. The on-site restaurant was excellent and the large main pool, toddlers pool, tennis courts, and games equipment well maintained. The reception, managed by charming and very helpful Vera who spoke excellent English, had a book & dvd library, and lots of tourist info to peruse. The site is 3 miles from the nearest coast - one of the most spectacularly scenic stretches of the Algarve. There are several restaurants within a 10 minute drive of the site and lots of pretty and historic towns and villages within a 30 minute drive on mainly quiet and good quality roads. It was an easy and straightforward 40 minutes to drive in our hire car from Faro airport to Quinta do Rosal.…
Just returned from a wonderful week at Quinta Do Rosal. We stayed in a 2 bed townhouse which was clean, comfortable and spacious. The pool and restaurant were fantastic with very friendly and accommodating staff. The kids quickly made friends around the shared pool and have had “the best holiday ever!” There were always plenty of sun loungers and it was never crowded. Quinta Do Rosal exceeded our expectations and we’ll definitely be back again!
Our two bed house was not as good as the other property allocated to us during our previous stay in 2016. On our return visit the second property's interior was old fashioned, tired and in need of some renovation and newer furnishings, although the kitchen was well equipped. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. A good bed is key to an enjoyable stay and a quick win for the owners would be to invest in a good bed with mattress topper. A car is essential to visit the local beaches and shops, although there was a free shuttle bus running from the very good upmarket Apollia supermarket every 30 minutes. The properties on the estate are set in an attractive green location and surrounded by many shrubs, trees and lawns. The pool area was peaceful with enough sun loungers and umbrellas to go around. At the reception the staff were very helpful and friendly, but the only niggle was that if you wanted air conditioning it was an extra 50 euros per week. Overall, the experience of your stay will vary and depend upon which property is allocated to you. If you do not mind staying in accommodation which may have seen better days , but is set in a quiet and peaceful location and is reasonably priced for the space provided, then this may suit your needs.…
Lovely setting and great food , staff also very attentive. The fillet lamb wow 😋not to be missed. Starter of scallops cooked to perfection. Ps Friday night is bbq , not very happy with the disorganisation que for food not good.
Tonight marks the last of 14 wonderful nights here - a peaceful, immaculate site with a beautiful pool and excellent restaurant. We stayed in a 3 bed town house and were impressed with the size of the property both inside and out, but also the regular replacement towels and weekly cleaning service. The staff are friendly and accommodating and were particularly great with our 10 month old baby. The location is great for the short drive to pretty bays and beaches but may be too remote for anyone looking for a party atmosphere, although Carvoeiro and it's many bars and restaurants is only a 10 min taxi journey away. All in all a great holiday and we hope to be back next year
Lovely stay in roomy single ground floor apartment. Great pool but lacking many shady areas and sun loungers during the hotter parts of the day. Much needed poolside snack bar but drinks could be bought from reception. Staff at reception very friendly and helpful. Avoid Friday BBQ, a real let down, more like a carvery with all food pre-cooked and the fish pan fried, with 'restrictions' of two roasted potatoes per person. All accompanied by some rather odd unnecessary dancing from someone I presume is the owner/ site manager.....a tad off putting! Overall a highly recommended place to say, great for families and a good base to explore the Algarve. A car a must.
We had a great stay at our super villa on this site. The receptionist was just the loveliest and most helpful lady, getting bread and milk for us every day, super convenient. Dinner at the restaurant was really very good also, I would recommend it highly.
My wife and I had a chance to stay in a newly renovated villa called Villa Hibiscus! Wow what a fabulous place. We were just two but would have been comfortable for many more! Pool was warm clean and just perfect! 2 minutes drive to 4 small towns. Two on the beach. Brand new gourmet kitchen and fresh food markets made cooking at home a delight
If you wont first class food of a standard found only in a few restaurants across Europe you are in the right place. If you expect the best for the price of the ordinary you are at Quinta do Rosal.. Try the fish dishes, a trio of three different in a sauce to die for and complimented with a variety of local grown veg. A picture to the eye. Great wines all at a reasonable price.
