We stayed here for 4 nights over Christmas and were really impressed. The villa is in a peaceful location but only a short drive away from both Pantai Cenang and Pantai Tengah. There is a good size pool which is perfect for a quick dip...More
Lovely villa in a quiet area. The room was massive and very clean.
Good area but needed a car/bike hire or use of taxi/Uber services to get around.
The hosts were very friendly and had very helpful tips to make our trip special.
I spent a very pleasant few days in a comfortable room in the villa. Mario and his wife were welcoming and helpful, particularly in arranging cheap car hire and driving me some distance to an out-of-way but excellent Thai restaurant.
great large room, family own business, only small but very friendly, very helpful, nothing is too much trouble to them, any thing they can help you they will.
very clean, close to the sea, easy to find, breakfast was included and made to order.

As below you will need your own transport or be relying on local taxis (which can vary quite a bit in price). This is perfect for people who would prefer to be away from all the activity but still close enough to restaurants, shops etc. to be convenient. If that's what you want, it is great. Perhaps not with a 5 year old but in terms of the hosts I'm sure Mario would do everything he could to make your stay as great as possible.

We are so terribly sorry that we have just seen your question only now, 6 months later! We didn't realize that we could receive any questions here nor had set-up any auto notifications of questions received. We have set that up now, but regret and apologize for this long delay and any trouble it may have caused you..
Nonetheless, we are very thankful for your question and choice of stay at Villa Impiana, and understand your concern. The closest place to eat within walking distance is a malay-style restaurant by the roadside, about 500 metres away from the Villa, open for lunch and dinner, but may not be open everyday. You'll get more malay-style restaurants and roadside stalls from about 1km away from the Villa onwards.
But, we personally recommend eating from places much closer to and along Pantai Cenang and Pantai Tengah, not so pleasant by foot anymore, as are all about 3-5 minutes' drive away. So, even though there are places to eat within walking distance, it would be quite a far walk and not so comfortable especially if it's hot or rainy.
Therefore, we highly recommend a rental scooter for MYR40-60 per day or car for MYR80-MYR100. Rates may be slightly higher during holiday seasons. Having your own transportation is best anyway for ease of travel and exploring the whole island - activities and sights are mostly spread all around the island. But, if you prefer otherwise, we can always help call a taxi whenever you need it.
