A fantastic time camping at Huxtable Farm, our own private pitch with toilet/shower facilities and views over the hillside and woods. Loved exploring the woods and land surrounding the farm and waking up to sounds of sheep and peacocks.. A beautiful location and well situated to explore North Devon. Jackie and Anthony were very welcoming. We will definitely be returning to Huxtable Farm.
Jackie and Anthony are lovely hosts, friendly, helpful and full of excellent advice on the area.Lovely room (Primrose), full of character. Everything for guests has been thought of, right down to details. Great collection of local information, leaflets, books, maps etc. Ancient historical farm, set in beautiful surroundings, isolated, down a private driveable track, but within easy reach of Barnstaple, Woolacombe, Ilfracombe, Lynmouth and Linton on the coast and Exmoor's Lorna Doone country across to Dulverton, Tar Steps and up to Simonsbath. Brilliant riverside walks are nearby , matched only by the nature trail on the farm developed in conjuntion with the Devon Wildlife Trust. Let the farm dog, Bella, be your guide! Will definitely return.
It was so lovely to go back to Huxtable Farm for a second visit. My stay was just a good as the first! I had such a relaxing couple of days away and I was so well looked after by Jackie and Antony. The breakfasts are so good (I often stay away for work and the breakfast here is joint top) and set you up fantastically for the day! If you are unsure of your plans for the day Jackie is great at giving you ideas. While I stayed everyone seemed to go somewhere different each day and it was lovely to find out what we had all been doing at breakfast each morning. Already looking forward to going back! Thank you both so much.
Huxtable Farm primarily provides Bed & Breakfast accommodation, but we stayed on the farm in a VW campervan that we hired from O'connors campers in Oakehampton. The farm only takes one tent or campervan at a time so you're not sharing the site with anyone else apart from people staying at the B&B. The location is idyllic with views over the rolling hillside and total peace and quiet apart from birdsong and bleating lambs. Jackie and Antony were very welcoming and accommodating and we really enjoyed our 4 nights there in May.
A pleasant two night stay here. Not really changed after ten years. Good to meet Jackie and Tony again. Well appointed and comfortable rooms. A hearty cooked breakfast. The farm walk is well worth doing. Will certainly stay again in the future.
