This is the second time we’ve stayed here, and to be honest the real draw is the food. The restaurant is great and the food is really good - although on this visit there did seem to be rather a lot of casseroles and fried food on the menu. Breakfast was lovely, delicious and hot with lots of choice. The rooms in the hotel are rather tired and oddly furnished - we’ve now stayed in two different rooms. Although the beds were comfy the rest of the furniture looks rather hotch potch and cheap. There was what appeared to be a very low Argos type plastic/faux leather sofa and a plastic/faux leather tub chair, not great for getting out of if you are getting on a bit as we are. Lots of unfinished wood features on the ceiling and around the bed. The ‘bathroom’ was tiny, nowhere to put soap/shampoo in the shower and a toilet that didn’t flush properly. The sculpture garden looks a bit tired now, lots of the sculptures look as though they could do with a good clean and little seems to have changed since last year when we visited. We had a nice stay, but probably won’t be back again. …
After an error by booking.com the owners of this lovely hotel ‘saved’ us at a time when they weren’t even open!!! They made us feel extremely welcome and impressed us with this gem of a hotel! Hotel is set in beautiful and tranquil grounds which have been thoughtfully and tastefully filled with an amazing display of sculptures. We would advise anyone in the area to pay this place a visit.... GOOD hosts GREAT food BEAUTIFUL grounds WE WILL BE BACK!
A truly unique and amazing hotel. It's an art hotel set on large woodland grounds with hundreds of sculptures to enjoy. The grounds also include a lake. The food takes this hotel up to another level. We were totally blown away by the amazing 3-course dinner and equally delicious breakfast. We will definitely be staying here again. We stayed in a family room with 2 small children. Highly recommended
Many thanks Rinus andAniet for a wonderful weekend which was a Birthday present from our sons for my wifes special birhday. We had to wait until lockdown was eased but well worth the wait. The Sculpture Gardens were as beautiful as ever and our food was really incredible, Our room was lovely, as was our waitress for the weekend who was so helpful. Broomhill is truly a special place in every way, all that is needed is for the jazz gigs to be able to happen again if possible, many thanks SteveandDenise Gordon,
Our second visit and well worth it. Rooms overlooking Garden fantastic. Staff attentive and friendly. Food Wonderful and almost Michelin Standard. Art in the House good quality and fascinating. Sculpture Garden and Walks delightful. Whole thing good value.
