I have just spent the week here for a work training course having never spent any time in the area before

The hotel was great. Very well decorated with individual rooms this former school is unique

The couple who run it make you feel very at home and welcome.

The room had everything you would expect including a kettle tv hairdryer and the bathroom products. They also had a mini fridge with milk water and orange juice which was replenished daily.

The dining was outstanding with very generous portions all home made and varied choices.

As for COVID all measures have been taken to ensure a safe stay.

On the whole I could say anything else. It was perfect and made staying away from home a pleasant experience.

Hickman Hill Hotel has a great reputation for its restaurant meals. Throughout lock down the chef and catering staff have enhanced their reputation even more by providing delicious Sunday Roast take away meals for only £10 . I look forward to Sundays

This Hotel is set amoungst beautiful gardens immaculately kept . We were welcomed by a lovely friendly couple who own the hotel . Our room Marshal was beautifully presented with lovely views to the stunning gardens below . We had two lovely sash windows offering two aspects of the grounds . We sat out side Sunday morning and coukd here the bells ringing from a near by church , it was such a peaceful and relaxing stay . The breakfast was so well presented and was delicious too . Only 20 mins away from Lincoln city . We felt, for the level of luxury we received it was excellent value for money . The beds linen was really nice quality and we had various pillows of softness in our room , six pillows in total and the bed very comfortable. Our bathroom was lovely with a stunning rain shower and a very romantic slipper bath . All the extra touches were delightful including dressing gowns and sleepers . We are definitely going to book to stay again and would 100% recommend this Hotel . We also had a parking space with no extra charge unlike some that we have stayed at before which charges you for your stay . Overall an exceptional hotel with high standards . You will not be disappointed if you stay here ! 👏👍😃

I recently stayed here for 3 nights and it was lovely. It is run by a husband and wife couple that were very friendly and great hosts. The food was fantastic as well. Evening meals had fresh ingredients and the breakfast has a great selection of cooked meals as well as juices/fruits/cereals and so on. Enjoyed my stay and would recommend it!

After a lengthy drive from Surrey it was such a pleasure to arrive at the Hickman Hill Hotel. The gardens are stunningly beautiful, the welcome from Dotty and her husband very friendly. As with another recent reviewer, Dotty kindly moved a table to a sunnier spot for a much-needed pot of tea in the garden. My Mum and I stayed for one night, my Mum's ground floor bedroom was traditional with lovely views of the garden, I had an ultra modern room on the first floor with original wooden shutters instead of curtains, and some quirky fittings.

The restaurant was a delight - one of the nicest meals out for a very long time, with honeyed brie followed by salmon in a herb crust. Breakfast was very good and nothing was too much trouble, a fresh fruit salad produced at the drop of a hat; lovely. I only wish the journey was shorter as I would definitely make the restaurant a regular excursion if closer!

My parents celebrated their Diamond Wedding Anniversary on Saturday March 7th and as a family (24 of us) we went for dinner at the Hickman Hill Hotel.
Doris and the rest of the staff were absolutely amazing. From planning the party, to the setting up of the restaraunt (which was closed to anyone else), the bar service, the food service (napkins laid on knees, white gloves etc.) and the standard of the food was exceptional. My parents were overwhelmed and said that it was the best evening they had had in many years. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.
Thank you again to all of the ataff at The Hickman Hill Hotel.

Pre booked the hotel based upon reviews and we were not disappointed.

An exceedingly friendly welcome, which extended for the length of our stay. Husband and wife team that run the hotel have invested money, time and effort in making this former school somewhere quite special. With extensive work inside and outside haven taken place in the last couple of years.

Our room, was large, airy and immaculately clean. COVID rules maintained exceptionally well throughout the hotel.

We ate in the restaurant, which we were told is serving a slightly limited menu at present, but there was still a great range of food and ours (we both had fish dishes) was not only cooked superbly but came in well sized helpings.

Breakfast the next morning was freshly cooked to order, and I would recommend adding their black pudding to your plate!

Like many hotels I suspect guest numbers were down on normal, but I feel this is a business that hopefully will see out the present problems, the owners deserve it for their shear enthusiasm and delivery.

I stayed at the Hickman Hill for 1 night on a business trip. I had originally booked the Bill Confrey room but was upgraded to the Hickman on arrival. The room was absolutely stunning, every detail taken care of with every amenity you could need. I would have been happy with either room but this was a very pleasant surprise after such a long drive. The food was amazing, I'm a very fussy eater with certain intolerance's etc and the chef suggested something that would suit me and it was cooked to perfection, nothing was too much trouble. The staff and the hotel owner are all very welcoming and clearly love what they do. I cannot recommend this place enough if you want a break away or stopping over night for business then the Hickman Hill is perfect.

What a lovely hotel, there was nothing we could fault. The staff were all very welcoming, friendly & helpful, the food (dinner & breakfast) was amazing & even though they were done by different chefs. The attention to detail in the lovely spacious rooms was fabulous, little quirky touches & the complimentary bottled water, fresh milk & orange juice in the bedroom fridge were an absolute bonus. The garden was beautiful and well maintained.
I would find an excuse to stay here again.

Well what can I say about the Hickman Hill Hotel?
Nothing negative that’s for sure!!
From the moment we arrived til the moment we left our every need was catered for 👍 and before we’d even asked. These guys know what they’re doing and they seemed to what we wanted before we did😂 a really special place with great gardens to relax in and the food is perfect too. When it’s time to retire to the room the beds are also next level. I personally felt like that bed and those pillows had arrived just before me! If every hotel was run like this one there would be no need for trip advisor reviews. Stay there and see if you can fault it!! I bet you can’t
