Great staff very accommodating the food just average the best being the chips. The fillet steak probably the worst I’ve had. The pepper sauce enough for the whole pub. I paid £20 for a tiny piece of tough steak a gallon of pepper sauce and cold oily mushroom onion mix. Take out the chips it was embarrassing to think I paid £20 for that. The coverage of the boxing terrible the TV kept flicking on and off and someone stuck the duke box on ruining the event. The older guy who I presume was the landlord didn’t really care or seem to be interested that there was a problem with the TV. The entertainment was ok but all in all very average. Just to say once again really lovely staff. I’ve uploaded the picture of the £20 steak meal the chips being the best part of it 🙂

A must for food, friendship.
Really happy with our stay, that breakfast was amazing and atmosphere in the evening was busy and friendly.
Staff were outstanding and couldn't do enough.
Bar and garden exceptional.
Rooms basic, but clean and comfortable.
Would certainly stay again.

Many thanks Friar Tuck's staff.

I visited Friar Tucks last week for a working lunch with a colleague. I chose this pub based on the location and went in without any expectations, but was so impressed with the lovely staff and excellent service that I felt compelled to write a review. All the staff from front-of-house to the chef made an effort to make us feel welcome and looked after, the food was excellent and the atmosphere was calm and relaxed. The wifi is also really strong for any others who need a spot to work in peace and some good food and drink to accompany. Will definitely be visiting again, thank you for your hospitality :)

Staff were very accommodating and helpful with adjusting the menu to suit us. (Group of friends, we had steaks, burgers, beef bourguignon and dessert )Food was very reasonably priced, especially given the portions and the quality. Excellent value drinks. The food was all homemade. We will definitely be returning, looking forward to trying the Sunday roast. Dog friendly too so will take him next time if he’s lucky!!

I stayed here for (thankfully) just one night. Frighteningly narrow cramped corridors, room was like a youth hostel and all you could hear was foul language from the pub guests below. I looked at the self service breakfast but decided looking at it was as far as I dared, eating it was not an option. Dreadful pub, rooms are even worse, bulldoze the place as it's in such bad repair it could never be nice

A bunch of friends and I visited the Friar Tuck for our monthly Breakfast Meet, all of us ordered the Full English and what an absolutely brilliant breakfast it was! For me, the highlight of the meal was the superb sausages, they are, without doubt, the best sausages I have ever had in a pub breakfast.
The staff were friendly, courteous and happy to accommodate a few variations to the listed items, my only criticism was the tea, it was unfortunately dreadful, tasted very cheap and had a stronger taste of the bag than the tea inside it! I did mention it to the server and they may well look at improving the tea but I would definitely go back there, even just for the sausages, I should have asked where they get them from but I didn’t think of it until I was on my way home.
All in all, this is an excellent place for a Full English breakfast, top marks for service and quality, sort out the tea and it would almost be impossible to beat, thanks Friar Tucks.

Hadn’t stepped through the doors to the pub in years despite living locally. After the recent change of ownership we thought we would see what it’s like. We have now visited on a few occasions (as a couple and with friends) and it’s a completely different atmosphere to what it was previously. It’s much more like you want your local pub to be - friendly with a warm welcome and staff are very attentive. Have eaten there a couple of times now and haven’t been disappointed. The menu is your usual pub grub type meals with a specials board too, good sized portions and very tasty! We will be back! Wishing the new owners every success, keep up the good work! 😊

Went in to try their Sunday roast and would highly recommend. Food was really tasty ( and great portion size) and all the staff were super friendly and couldn’t do enough to ensure you enjoy your visit. Can’t wait for them to complete their beer garden ready for the warmer weather.
