Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very impressed with friendly service and the well thought out breakfast buffet! There was even Emmenthal cheese on offer. The ground floor room was perfect for the dog and we even had undercover parking. Beautiful old style Inn, spacious room and good food. There is a lovely back room where I was able to kill some time after check out.

Festive meal - booked a table for me and my cousins to get together before Christmas, Staff were amazing, friendly and caring. We all chose our options the week before - the food came out piping hot and delicious, everything was cooked to perfection and plenty of it, nothing was too much trouble - we went for the bottomless drinks package and our glasses were topped up all the time, the staff made sure we were looked after - 10 out of 10 customer satisfaction from us all :-)

Booked via booking .com needed to re - arrange date by one day. Called hotel direct, as booking .com has a 48hr response policy which would be too late to get a change made as it had only been booked day before, due to work being rearranged. Rang in the morning & lady on reception was nice, she said wouldn't be a problem as had availability, however we double checked later that night & spoke to manager who was rude & very unhelpful , refusing to change the day even though they had space for us We ended up paying for room we didn't use and choose to book an alternative Which is a shame as we always have several drinks & meals . So they missed out on our custom & any return business as working in Gloucester

Great value for a comfortable and spotlessly clean room plus breakfast. My room was a small double on the ground floor and although small it had everything I needed including very good quality bed and bedding. Complimentary toiletries and big fluffy towels. We enjoyed a fabulous breakfast of eggs royale, full English and smoked salmon. Beautifully cooked and attractively presented. The staff were extremely friendly , helpful and attentive. Highly recommended

The staff were very pleasant, courteous and welcoming. We only ate breakfast over the two days we stayed at the Inn but there was a good choice and the full English was prepared to your individual wish. A guest asked for and was given a bacon sandwich for breakfast even though it wasn't on the menu. Our room was listed as large and whilst not extensive was adequate.

Room was ok but a bit noisy. Food was good. Wine was extortionate! £11 a glass for a mediocre Sauvignon, plus the staff automatically added 10% to the food bill though it says the service charge is optional. Won’t be staying again.

Stayed here five times now and everytime it's always worth every penny!. The newly refurbished bar is so nice and the garden fantastic!. Parking is always available, the building is really lovely and food amazing. Next time I stay I definitely will dine as I have only eaten once and that was the awesome Bangers and Mash! (before the refurb was done). Although I'm not local, I stay here whenever I go on a gig trip with my friend from Quedgeley. The staff actually know me now and they're really fantastic and friendly. Charlotte checked me in last time and took me upstairs to my room while offering if I wanted help with any luggage 😊. It was her Birthday that week (and it was mine the following day), and later saw her round the nearby pub Friar Tucks where we became Facebook friends!. The beer is also fantastic and breakfast amazing as well!. The staff even wrote me a Birthday message on my reservation tab!. The location is also perfect with nice walks nearby and shops in very good reach!.
