Lovely homestay, close to Bardiya NP. People are really friendly and interested in your background. The guides take you on wonderful walks and jeep safaris while telling you everything about the National park. Highly recommend this place!

A wonderful place with wonderful people. After the chaos of Kathmandu it was an oasis of calm and relaxation. Great food, great accommodation and really great hosts and staff. Walking the countryside around Bardia Homestay was a treat, looking out how the friendly locals live and work. But the highlight was, of course, being able to see 2 tigers during walking and jeep safaris. A really special place and experience.

We had a great stay at Bardia Homestay! Sonja and Budhi are very nice people. They often sat with us at the campfire and shared their experiences. We've been there for a week and did a jungle walk, safari jeep and a walk at the Karnali river and through the villages. All the tours and guides were great. We spotted elephants, a rhino, deers, monkeys, a crocodile, otters and birds. In addition we explored Thakurdwara and their wonderful surroundings. The spacious rooms have very comfortable beds. Food is delicious. We highly recomment Bardia Homestay!

Budhi and Sonja created a great adventure and atmosphere in Bardiya! I was 6 days in Bardiya where I did the jeep safari, the jungle walk and the night in a tree house. All activities were well organised and good fun! We saw many animals, including the Bengal tiger!

Sonja and Budhi are such a nice couple. They make you feel very welcome! We had a really great time and stayed for 5 nights. We did 2 jungle walks with Budhi as our guide. The jungle walk is the best experience, we saw 4 rhino's and a baby rhino so cute! No tiger for us, but the anticipation to see one was also great. The rooms are specious and very clean. And really nice to have a separate shower from the toilet. The food is very good and tasty. In the evening they make a bonfire, where you can meet up with fellow travelers and share stories. Also Sonja lent me a cardigan, because I only had one with me which was too colourful for the jungle, so sweet! Thanks for all your help in advance of our stay. And you and Budhi made our stay and the travel to and from your homestay very easy. We had the best time!…

Our stay at Bardia homestay was very relaxing and at the same time we‘ve experienced some adventures like tree house, jungle trips, cooking, etc. Sonja and Buddhi were perfect hosts with helping to organise activities flexibly, telling stories about local Nepal at the bonfire and bringing together travellers in their peaceful little courtyard. We stayed there quite a while (8d) to reload energy before going to India. We can really recommend it to any other travellers appreciating a clean, cozy, adventurous environment with heartwarming hosts.

We had a wonderful few days & nights at Bardia Homestay. Sonja & Budhi made us very welcome, organised everything for our stay impeccably (including transits to & from the airport) & provided superb accommodation and meals at a most reasonable cost. The days spent in the National Park with the Homestay’s in-house guides were memorable, with intimate sightings of rhino, crocodile and a close encounter with a tiger, as well as much other wildlife. We also enjoyed exploring the local villages & community forest. All highly recommended.

We had the best time at Bardia Homestay for 5 days. We had come to Bardia having completed a long trek in the Himalaya and wanted to spend the rest of our time in Nepal relaxing and on safari, this was the perfect place for both. Sonja and Budhi made us feel right at home from the off and they are so knowledgable about the area. Despite us having organised our trip at short notice, Sonja made the whole process very easy and remained super accommodating in letting us decide what we wanted to do on different days once we had arrived. We spent several days exploring the National Park and surrounding area on foot and by Jeep which was really amazing and we were lucky enough to have spotted a tiger, amongst other wildlife including rhino, crocodiles, deer and lots of tropical birds. Would certainly look to come back!…

Our trip to Bardia was our highlight of Nepal, but also a lifetime highlight! It was so incredible, all thanks to Bardia Homestay. Sonja helped customize a perfect trip that was adventurous and exactly want we wanted. Manmohan was the absolute best guide and it was because of him that we saw 2 tigers! He is clearly passionate and so knowledgeable about the jungle. I can’t say enough good things about him. The homestay was so comfortable and cute. We loved having dinner by the fire and the sunrises and sunsets were incredible. Everyone here is thoughtful and attentive and seem genuinely interested in their guests. Book this trip! It is so worth it!

Bardia Homestay is an excellent place to stay when you want to check out the National Park. You can book many activities from the homestay. And we could plan them the evening before going, everything would be arranged the next morning. The guides are nice and very good at spotting animals. It is nice to have Breakfast, lunch & dinner by Bardia Homestay. Tip: pack some jungle coloured clothing!
