Detailed Reviews
This is a gem of a pub.
We had been before and had an amazing burger but this time had Sunday lunch.
Beautiful rare roast beef, superb pork, home made stuffing, awesome pigs in smoked blankets, rich home made gravy superbly cooked veg and a great selection , and home made puds, generous portions, and incredible value, attentive service.
I just could not fault anything about this pub. So many fail on a rubbish bought in pud or overpriced or sad veg.
This is perfect.

We came on a Monday for a drink and fancied something to eat , it was pizza and pint night. I lactose intolerant couldn’t have the pizza , the staff made me feel so welcome and cooked ham , eggs and onion rings .
Great pub and atmosphere . Thankyou. Will definitely come again .

Every time I come here I wonder why I don’t come more often. The ale here is just so brilliant with a great choice of different local beers. Well kept and served by good, local staff. The atmosphere is always good, open beams and a good rural feel to the whole pub. Haven’t eaten here for a while but those I know who have always seem happy. Along with the Fox this is my favourite Bredon Hill pub, though this is more of drinkers pub and excels at that.

We booked this place as a stop off on our way to Cornwall.
It was £55 and that should have been a warning.
It’s above a pub which I didn’t think would be a problem as it was a country pub and it closed at 11am and we didn’t arrive until
9pm.
When we arrived I can only describe it like a scene from a school disco! it was full of teens / young adults who stayed there until around 4am screaming at the tops of their voices on what I think was supposed to be karaoke.
I wanted to leave at 2am but we had nowhere else to go.
It was honestly the worst nights sleep I have had. I could hear clear as day the conversations people were having down stairs and outside the window. I could hear one girl In particular who we called husky Helen because she had a real loud deep voice. We can laugh now it’s over! I didn’t complain because they were all
having a ball. It’s not their fault!!
The fact is, the hotel should have told us they were having a lock in and would be loud all night / morning long. We had our five year old who was petrified when the fire alarm started randomly going off with no instruction or anyone around to let us know what was happening,
The room was dirty and we were all itchy the next day and I had a rash on my face
The room didn’t feel secure the lock is flimsy and we could hear people coming up and down all night. I pushed a chair up against it! Anyone could get access to the rooms from the party downstairs which is accessed via a door in the pub!
We left at 6am! Not long after the party had ended!
I must add we stayed on a bank holiday Sunday! I don’t think this was a usual Sunday.
The lad who shown us to our room was lovely.
Actually they all seemed to be lovely and having a great time!
I just wish we knew there was going to be an all nighter going on! We wouldn’t have stayed!
The rooms need a deep clean and I forgot to mention the smell of lard is that bad all of our clothes stunk of it.
I am sorry I don’t like to give bad reviews but it was honestly terrible.

Response from Lee Martin, Owner at The Crown Inn
Responded 5 Jun 2024
Hi Laura I'm so sorry for your experience at our lovely pub. We tried something new for a bank weekend that was huge mistake. It's no excuse for your horrendous experience, I wish so much I could go back and time and change my decision especially as you had a small child in your group. I assure you we won't be hosting a silent disco ever again. Reference the rash on your face, I can assure you all our bedding is washed after every stay at our local laundrette in Mitton. We appreciate your honest feedback and can tell you didn't like writing this review. We can only apologise massively.

Always enjoyed coming to the crown for some drinks, always a good atmosphere and great selection of drinks. Had food here for the first time tonight, and food was really good! Had the crispy chilli beef and Camembert for starter, then the chicken and the lamb for main - Would highly recommend this place for any occasion!

We had a nice stay over all.
The staff were all really lovely.
On walking into the room we were allocated we thought it seemed ok.But on further inspection it really wasn't very clean at all.
The skirtings and doors and pictures etc were very dirty and dusty. The windows ate metal and very mouldy with chipping paint. Also the window catches are all broken do windows don't shut properly. On the up side the toilet and shower were clean. The bedding and towels were clean too. With a little attention to detail and a good clean and decoration it could be really lovely. Certainly at the moment not worth what we paid.

The Crown Inn has the individual charm of a country pub, just the sort of small place we like to visit. The staff were friendly and helpful, the facilities comfortable, and the food excellent. For a pleasant journey break on our way home from a family visit, this was just what we wanted.

Stayed for one night as I was seeing friends local to the area. Lovely room, nice and clean with a warm welcome from the staff. Had dinner with my friends that evening and all 4 of us had fantastic meals and the waiting staff couldn’t be more helpful! Great selection of beers and some lovely sounding menu options. I had fish and chips for main, really fresh fish and nice crispy batter! Followed up with a brownie ice cream! Had a fantastic night sleep that evening. I will return soon.
