Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a nice stay over all. The staff were all really lovely. On walking into the room we were allocated we thought it seemed ok.But on further inspection it really wasn't very clean at all. The skirtings and doors and pictures etc were very dirty and dusty. The windows ate metal and very mouldy with chipping paint. Also the window catches are all broken do windows don't shut properly. On the up side the toilet and shower were clean. The bedding and towels were clean too. With a little attention to detail and a good clean and decoration it could be really lovely. Certainly at the moment not worth what we paid.

Lovely place. The staff were all lovely. Greta dog friendly place. Food was so nice and the chef was really nice to us and our pups. Great prices. Our room was lovely and shower nice and big. Easy check in. We also had a lovely walk around the village and into some fields where we met a nice farmer too! Would highly recommend

Lovely country pub with rooms, in a sleepy village not far from Cheltenham. Staff are friendly, and the pub is welcoming. Rooms are pleasant, & the family room was a nice size, however the doubles are small. Beds are OK, and the bathroom was clean, with a powerful shower, & with basic toiletries. In room Water, Tea & Coffee as standard, however despite the pub serving food during the day, they do not serve breakfast. I feel, for the cost £85.00, whilst it is reasonable, I would expect a light continental breakfast being offered for this price. Unfortunately, Check is was only available from 4pm, which is quite late. Breakfast is not offered from this pub with rooms, however, there is a cute cafe a couple of doors away where they serve excellent food. A nice touch would be to have a 10% discount offered by the pub for the cafe. Encouraging guests to eat in the cafe, and as a token for not serving breakfast.

Absolutely fantastic pub. The friendliest staff, brilliant atmosphere amazing curries and great beer and gin! This really is a very special place, a rarity these days - a proper pub with a warm welcome. Not to be missed if you are in the area.

First impression: Parking is on the road, if you can find it. We were aware we may not get breakfast - but thought when I booked this was included. They are still advertising breakfast included by the way at the same price we paid. However there was a nice cafe next door but choices are limite.. Then we tried to sort out an evening meal, only to discover there was no chef, so no evening meal available then - apart from Pizza. A very tasty menu still appears on their website though with no indication it is not available!. The young lady who booked us in secured a table for us at a "sister pub" down the road. In our cramped room, we found there were three tea bags and three little milks only and the empty toilet roll insert still on the holder in the bathroom, and an already started one on the floor behind the cistern!!!!! I would also comment that the electric wiring is an accident waiting to happen. Everything comes off virtually inaccessible 4-ganger extension cables, some of which seem to run off each other. No coat hangers in the room so where one would hang suits I don't know. The kettle (with its broken lid) was all one unit (i.e. no base plate and removable unit) and could not be unplugged & had to be filled cup by cup and then you had to hold the lid in place when pouring out the hot water. The Heath-Robinson bathroom door was so tight on the room carpet that it was very hard to close. There was no chair to sit on, (though the room was so small it would have been difficult to have one anyway I must say) but we did have a radiator!!!!! Desk? What desk? The bed - an iron/metal type bedstead with a recess for a mattress ... which was 2" too small all the way round. Needs A LOT OF REFURBISHMENT!!!

Make of it what you will. The staff are friendly, the location is great, the main road is quiet. The room is big. The beds are comfy. No wifi code in the room. There are chunks out of the wall. The bathroom light and extractor fan don't work. There are stains on the sheets, although blood is always hard to remove so they were probably clean. There were 6 items belonging to a previous occupant still in the drawers. Couldn't mention this to anyone as no one is there first thing or they're in deep cover if they were. Over to you as to whether you want to stay.

Every time I come here I wonder why I don’t come more often. The ale here is just so brilliant with a great choice of different local beers. Well kept and served by good, local staff. The atmosphere is always good, open beams and a good rural feel to the whole pub. Haven’t eaten here for a while but those I know who have always seem happy. Along with the Fox this is my favourite Bredon Hill pub, though this is more of drinkers pub and excels at that.
