A friend recomended this place to me as a possible idea for an anniversary/birthday gift for my wife. I have to say it exceeded all expectations with all the facilities being top notch. Easily accessible from Inverness Airport but with all the trappings and illusions of being a remote oasis. This trip was 2 years in the planning before being able to come to fruition primarily due to Covid through it all Eleanor (the host)was very accomodating and really tried to ensure the stay was a memorable one (it was). The facilities were outstanding and the little touches by Eleanor really brought home the quality of the accomodation. Most places you stay in you are aware that your staying in rented accomodation but this was truly a home from home. Didnt see much in the way of wildlife outside of birds but we were out a lot and the time of year may have contributed to that. All in all an excellent stay that really hit the mark with my wife. Few tips , light the outside woodburner for the hot tub approx 3-4 hours before you need it Inside only light the inside wood burner when you need it as it is extremely effective at keeping the place warm. Whilst Loch Ness was marred by the weather I can reccomend Ness Islands as free walk conveniently located near botanic gardens, crazy golf and a leisure centre. Also Fairy Glen Waterfalls was also a very pleasant walk (not too long but not too short either) Really useful and reasonable corner shop in Tornagrain for food and drink and other sundries

We had a great week at the Lodge, peaceful and in beautiful surroundings. Wake up each morning to red squirrels, deer, hares and pheasants! A super place to relax and enjoy the local area. We will definitely be back in the future.

We had a brilliant stay in the Silver Birch lodge. Amenities were all great, lodge is very well equipped and comfortable. It was an ideal place to unwind and enjoy the wildlife ( you get visited by a lot, deer, badgers, hares, red squirrels and countless birds). Although you feel very remote, you are actually only 15 minutes from Inverness and it is perfect for exploring the area e.g. seeing dolphins at Chanonry Point. Many thanks to Eleanor who did everything to make our break fantastic, particularly as it was during a pandemic. We will go back.

We stayed in Scots Pine Lodge for our honeymoon at Easter. It was amazing. The location is ideal. The lodges are a taxi ride from Inverness and the airport but feel far more secluded and quiet. From here we visited the Cairngorms, Tomatin distillery, inverness, Loch Ness as well as other areas more locally. Eleanor is brilliant and all the finishing touches really make this a special place to stay. It somehow exceeds expectations - do not hesitate about booking!! We will definitely be back

Absolutely amazing place. A well hidden gem. Far away, tucked in the forest, yet just a stone throw away from the airport. Lodges are beautifully finished to a very high standard and offer a great break and escape from the busy life. Tastefully decorated and very well equipped. Having a roaring fire is a bonus too, specially in these cold wintry nights. Owners must have thought of everything. You arrive and you are welcome with beautiful flowers, bottle of bubbly and we'll stocked up fridge. We had the pleasure of spotting some wild life too - squirell, wood pecker, deer...to name just a few. Definitely one of the nicest places we've been to. And one of the very few to return to. Thank you for making our stay so memorable.

Had a wonderful stay, Eleanor has thought of everything to make your stay an enjoyable one. It's well equiped with everything you would need for all weathers. Four nights wasn't enough for us to do all the exploring we had planned therefore wouldn't think twice about returning. Just sitting watching the wildlife was so relaxing. It's a great base for exploring lots of wonderful places nearby. The place is so spacious with superb outdoor space to explore. Welcome pack much appreciated.

Lodges at the Mains may be the best spot in the world to do a complete battery recharge. The setting is beautiful, the fixtures and amenities are all first class and the hospitality offered by host Eleanor is exceptional. For us, it is a 4700-mile journey and we have now done it for the fourth time in four years. Inverness Airport is as convenient as could be and we cherish all of our time in the Highlands at "our" lodge. It's peaceful, it's quiet and it is convenient to any number of fun places and activities in and near the Highlands. It's really magical.

Just spent four days at the Lodges as part of a walking holiday. Superb in all respects. The website photos and descriptions were accurate. We especially enjoyed the wildlife. The red squirrel appeared at least once per day on the feeder, as did the woodpecker. Also saw a variety of other garden birds, roe deer; and a badger made a late appearance. We fully recommend the Lodges as five star. Eleanor (the host) has thought of everything and supplied a number of lovely touches. The welcome pack was top quality. Also available were picnic basket, flask, chairs, binoculars, maps and umbrellas. There are numerous attractions in the immediate area, also easy access to the Black Isle and the Moray Coast. For privacy, peace and quiet, it would be hard to find anywhere better than the Lodges. We’d love to return at some future date.

Thank you so much. It was lovely to meet you and delighted you enjoyed your break. On my way home from the Lodges this morning I spotted a beautiful dragonfly on the track so will post the photos later on. Bird feeders full to the brim and thank you for your contribution. The birds are very grateful! Beautiful day here again, if a tad windy. Perfect for harvest. Combine in, followed by baler, and as I type field cleared and the next thing I'll see from the office window will probably be the plough. The never ending circle of farming! All the best for the rest of 2018 and would love to see you back at Lodges at the Mains

What a fantastic location with breathtaking views. Luxury quality to the lodge with an excellent kitchen, dining area and lounge and bedroom with a balcony and great views of the Moray Firth. Deer, red squirrels and a variety of birds can be seen including woodpeckers and jays. There is also a spa bath on the mezzanine to bathe under the stars. Peace and tranquility. Simply fabulous!
