Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife and I stayed here for one night as part of our road trip. It is a wonderful manor in a superb location. Hywel and Mel were the perfect hosts, incredibly friendly with great humour. The room we stayed in was quite spectacular with huge walk in shower room and every facility one would need for your stay. From the welcome drinks on arrival to the beautifully cooked evening meal the service was impeccable. We cannot find fault at all and we will be back as soon as we can for a longer stay. Highly recommended! Barry and Jen. Monmouth UK.

We stayed for one night as a stop over before catching a ferry back to the UK, but now realise that we should have stayed longer and used the Manoir as a base to explore the local area. We will be back. The accommodation is a beautifully restored and appropriately modernised building. The owners clearly work exceptionally hard to maintain a superb standard, and create a perfect mix of efficiency, friendliness and good humour. Both the evening meal and the breakfast were excellent.

Mel and Hwyel, Thank you for a very relaxing stay. The setting is beautiful at the Manoir and you are fortunate to be in a fantastic location to explore the area. Thank you for the recommendation of the local vineyard. The wines are exceptional and reasonably priced.

My wife and myself stayed for 3 nights at the Manor in July. A truly amazing experience. We loved the setting, the quality facilities including the swimming pool and the beautifully furnished bedroom with en-suite bathroom. We also opted to dine in for two of our three nights and we are pleased we did!!. Hywel and Mel the owners, went out of their way to make us feel very welcome. We will certainly book again, albeit for a longer period next time.

I chose very carefully, taking my time to search for a place where we could expect luxury, something a little different and excellent food. I found it! The occasion was for my husband's 60th birthday. We were so happy with absolutely everything. Just like the photos only even better. The food was amazing and because this is not a big hotel, really personalised service. Each wine and course explained. We hope to return again with friends.

My wife and I along with our two teenage daughters had a truly wonderful stay at this property on June 19, 2021. It's a beautiful, older building (1500's) that has been tastefully and charmingly updated in a lovely rural and quiet setting. We booked two rooms and both were very spacious with modern bathrooms. The setting is really conducive to relaxing. We were able to sit around the pool and enjoy a beautiful summer evening before dinner. The Owners - Hywel and Melanie - are great people and also wonderful hosts. They made us feel so welcome. They are also very good chefs and prepared for us a very delicious dinner and breakfast. I highly recommend this exceptional property and look forward to coming back here in the near future.

My husband and I had the most spectacular time here. We booked Le Roi, room is beautifully furnished and bathroom is beautiful! Decor is really important for us and this Manoir did not disappoint! Newly renovated to perfection. Our hosts were the kindest couple! They offering to pickup and drop off our bike rental, which was amazing! They were very accommodating in every way. The food was the highlight of our stay. Everything tasted AMAZING! The wines were great as well. I highly highly recommend this place. I know we will return one day with our family.

Such friendly, sweet hosts. Food was absolutely to die for. Manoir was renovated to perfection, decor as well. We wanted to rent bikes, and they offered to pick up & return the bikes for us. They packed us a delicious lunch pack for our bike day too. We stayed in Le Roi & the bed was comfortable, bathroom was so luxe! Outdoor space was so peaceful, you can hear the birds chirps, big beautiful trees, and views of the vineyards. ABSOLUTELY 1000000% recommend staying here. I will return to Loire Valley just to stay there again with family & friends (:

If you’re contemplating staying at the Manoir, I’d strongly recommend booking without hesitation. This really is a gorgeous gem of a B&B set amongst vineyards in the heart of the Loire Valley. The Rooms and interiors are luxuriously decorated, with super soft towels and bed linen, and probably the comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in. We stayed in Le Roi, a massive bedroom and bathroom with a big stand alone bath and huge shower with a view out over the beautiful countryside. We stayed with our 2 year old daughter and were able to put her cot in the bathroom, with there being blackout shutters and a separate toilet / sink area, it was perfect - just like having a 2 bedroom apartment. Mel & Hywel are excellent hosts, and made us instantly feel welcome with a glass of delicious Cremant on the terrace by the pool. Amazing food prepared by Hywel, (of high end London restaurant quality) and superbly matched wine pairings. Breakfast was absolutely perfect, everything you could ask for including the most delicious fresh croissants I’ve had, and freshly prepared eggs from the hens on site. The Manoir really is 5* all the way

We stayed here for one night on our way from La Rochelle to Calais. Lovely manoir in small village. Our contemporary room was stylish with a comfortable bed and a great bathroom. Delicious dinner cooked by Hywel and nice interaction with other guests. Lots of choice at breakfast which we ate around the pretty natural swimming pool. Dog friendly too! Highly Recommended.
