Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A great hotel, not to say a finely designed small village in wonderful nicely designed gardens and landscaping, a fantastic swimming pool , an acceptable beach - not really the best - a very spacious room plus a large verandah overlooking the med , the gardens and Gythion at a distance of a few kms..Breakfast rather rich but not self service, you stay in line for the 2 waitresses to serve you - why not self service ? - . Service more than professional with a great genuine smile...On the negative side, the private driveway from the main road to the hotel (500+ metres) is the worst I have seen in the recent years, as if you drive on the worst surfaced cement road. As of mid September , the restaurant is closed so apart from the bar which is open till 20,00 hours, there is nothing available, there is absolutely nothing to do, nothing to eat , with nothing around , nowhere to go if you don't have a car..You are in a fine hotel room in the wilderness. You can only watch the tiny 18 inch tv which is a shame for such a hotel... Internet connection is a disaster. They should do something about it... No room service at any time of the day or night..

We have stayed in AKTAION RESORT for 3 nights at the bungalows. The rooms are extremely spacious and very very clean. Congratulations to everyone. The hotel is in a great condition and everything is well taking care of. The breakfast is very nice and the girls that help you get served very polite. You can have whatever you like. The only issue are the bees ... I do not know if there is anything that they should do. I am sure that they have already tried it. Anyway,I got used to them as they are quite...friendly. The boy at the beach was very nice and polite and extremely helpful. The sea is great and you can have your coffee or snack by the sea. I have stayed away from the pool that was mainly crowded by kids. I strongly recommend it, it is great value for money place. Thank you everyone for the great hospitality!

We came back here ( couple with two kids) for second year in a row as we really loved the experience. The hotel is the perfect place to relax, enjoy sun and very nice beach at your doorstep. Most people (95 percent) are Greek tourists. Everyone is super nice and you unwind right away. The pool is very spacious and kids can play as they wish. Breakfast is very good and now managed as served buffet behind plexiglass because of COVID. Masks are worn by the poor staff all of the time ( this summer very hot- 40 degrees plus) so you can feel safe. You need a car but then you find so many beautiful places, little fisher villages, beautiful and never overcrowded beaches everywhere- great people, food and landscape. Peleponnes is for us so much greater than all of the crowded islands and a wonderful destination- and Aktaion Beach super base for a stay ( Athens and Kalamata airport not far away and your trip with car will be adventurous and awesome)- we will be back and thank the staff of Aktaion for hosting us….pics to this post are not from hotel but surrounding places. All pics from hotel on trip advisor though are absolutely realistic ( we just had our family on them everywhere😂)

Spent 4 nights here in early September, Maybe because it was so quiet but there was a really spacious relaxing feel to the hotel, huge pool area with bar, nice restaurant with great food and service, breakfast with nice fresh fruits and all covid safe behind perspex. Beach a 2 minute stroll with plenty of sunbeds. Our room was clean and comfortable with good wifi. Local village about 2 miles away so a car is useful

Very nice hotel to stay when in Gytheio. Excellent breakfast and the restaurant has very nice food. The sea is only a few mins walk. All Covid measures were take. And we felt safe. Only thing is that they need more personnel to cover the needs.

We, four couples, enjoyed every minute of our staying at this great resort. The bungalows built with stone following the architectural style of the area, were very comfortable, clean and with sea view. The premises very well taken care of, full of flowers and a nicely made swimming pool. The breakfast buffet with a big variety of delicious food and local specialties- literally missing nothing. The personal very polite and helpful met all our needs. We do hope to go again.

Resort is mainly hosting local greek tourists. The staff is very polite, eventhough some struggle with English, this is not a real problem as they really do try harder and perform at the highest standards. Room is cleaned well every day, beach connected to the hotel is nice and both it and the pool is not over crowded. This is a very nice mid-range resort, breakfast is great. My only comment would be on the prices of extras, example cappuccino not avilable in buffet breakfast, and costs 3.5-4 euros (this is double what you pay at a coffee bar/restuarant here). I would suggest a lower price would attract guests to consume extras at the hotel rather than seek them outside.

We've spend our summer holidays staying at this resort. It's a bit difficult to find it if you don't have a GPS device as the signs are too small to find them. Also there is a dirty road that leads you to the resort. First impression when we arrived was a bit weird. People at the front desk seemed that they were doing us a favor during the check in process. No smile, no additional information about the area, they didn't even informed us about the place that breakfast and dinner was served. Then we arrived at the room, which we specifically asked to have view and we finally found out that it was a semi-basement room!! When I asked at the reception to change us room they told me that this is what you paid for and there is no available room. In fact they didn't even tried to find an alternative. Poor service in my opinion! So after we got stucked in this room I have to say that it was a spacious room for 4 people, with a flat TV and pretty good internet connection. As far as it concern the pool area, it was good (pool has a max depth of 1,70m) so it's a bit safe nearly for anyone and there is also a kid's pool. The service from the pool bar was terrible!!! Nobody ever came to us to order while we were sitting at the sunbeds, so we had to find them every time. Beach in front of the resort is descent if you don't have a car to explore other places in the area, but not something amazing. We didn't visited during our stay. Breakfast was rich with lots of sweet and salty options plus many local recipes which were amazing. Lots of juices, bread, croissants, etc We had a half-board package so we had dinner every night which was a la carte. There was a plenty of choices to pick from every day from the meny plus the daily dished that were available. Service during dinner time was completely different in a much better way. It must have something to do with the personell working there. It was a nice experience but I wouldn't come back due to the bad customer experience. As a Greek I'm very dissapointed to say this.
