Just had a lovely night at this lovely little find. We were on our way home in a small sports car, so we needed to break our journey. The bevy of lovely ladies who looked after us were so helpful, even cooling our own bottle of wine so we could sit in the lounge and share it after our dinner.

The bedroom was really comfortable and breakfast amazing. Thanks to all for making us so welcome.

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting family. Beautiful grounds, exceptional hospitality and well appointed rooms. Great location (close to Doncaster) and would be a fantastic venue for a wedding. Only serves breakfast currently (very good breakfast) but there is a wonderful pub in Hooton Pagnell. Great lounge to unwind in the evening with a selection of drinks. Highly recommend.

We stayed end of May 2021 with our daughter.Very nicely taken care of by Shannon and Nick, including a beautiful room upgrade.
The place is both stunning and discreete, peaceful. Few rooms, all unique and decorated with taste.

Higly recommended.

Totally shocked to arrive to see the very poor level of facilities provided for a "Boutique B & B"room being charged out at £250 per night. Whereas the room was ok ( certainly not stunning) apart from instant coffee and tea and long life milk available in the room we were offered no other drinks or "special touches". I was informed that they couldn't even light a fire to welcome us due to health and safety reasons ( despite it being an extremely cold January evening ) . We left straight away so disgusted and it cost us a lost deposit of £75 . All beware if you are expecting a quality product by the location and website - Premier Inn offers better facilities.

Response from Nicholas Davies, General Manager at Hooton Pagnell Hall
Responded 7 Mar 2022
Dear Cathy, I am saddened to see that you have written a review on TripAdvisor, considering I had already offered you a detailed full response over email after your planned stay in January. I have discussed your comments with the team, and they did try to make your stay as comfortable as possible, along with a complimentary room upgrade to one of our other bedrooms. You had noted how welcoming Sofia was, so I am again, saddened to see that you have left a one-star review, when you certainly have noted positives, both over email, and in-person upon your check-in. This is our first negative review, and it is a shame that you have written such strong words when love and care have been inbuilt into every element of our bed and breakfast; from the service, through to the carefully designed spaces and bedrooms. I'm sure that you will see that your comments are quite the contrast to our usual feedback. Again, I can all but apologise about you not receiving a fresh cafetière of coffee or a warming pot of tea on arrival, this is usually protocol and there has been no explanation as to why you and your partner did not get asked this upon arrival to enjoy in the lounge. Again, with this, should have been a fresh jug of milk, so that you could have enjoyed ‘real coffee and fresh milk’ at your own leisure. We keep a jug of milk for our guests to use in the downstairs fridge (located in the breakfast room), along with the Nespresso machine. For this, I am sorry that you did not receive the above on arrival. As mentioned to you in email correspondence, I will do my upmost to ensure that my colleagues receive sufficient training so that this complaint does not arise again. The tea and coffee-making facilities in the bedroom are stocked with high-quality offerings, with long-life milk and coffee creamers. As you note, we do not have fridges in the bedrooms, this is why we use these products, so guests are still able to enjoy a lovely cup of tea within the comfort of their rooms. In response to your comment about the unwelcoming lounge; I have been informed by colleagues, that the candles were alight in the lounge to which you noted: “how cosy the lounge” was in appearance. Due to your time of arrival, you are correct, the fire was not lit due to Health and Safety reasons, as my colleagues were shortly leaving the property. I do agree that the fire should have been offered for you to enjoy, had you have not been departing the property. Unfortunately, however, if guests leave for an evening meal or to visit friends or family, then we are unable to leave the fire burning due to potential risks and fire hazards. Guest safety is most definitely a huge priority for us all. Furthermore, you booked your bedroom, Hooton Pagnell Suite, our junior suite bedroom, located in the West Wing of the hall directly online. I have taken the time to read over the website and look at that room in particular. In the description, you can see that is per the exact room, taking note of the Victorian bath and in-built waterfall shower. My colleague, Sofia, again, had been in contact to ask if there was anything she could assist with prior to your stay. To also note, that the images online are the exact ones of the room that you booked. Sofia did kindly offer a room change, free of charge, where you perhaps would have felt more comfortable in one of our other rooms/ suites, but unfortunately, you didn’t want to have a look at these rooms. I do believe that they would have been more to your taste with perhaps the period features you were looking for. Finally, in regards to your request for your refund, Due to the late nature of your check out, we were unable to refund this final amount. I do believe in all fairness that Sofia and the team would have loved for you to continue your stay, be that in the Hooton Pagnell Suite bedroom, or perhaps our Library or Green bedrooms, of which, we were happy to offer you at no extra charge at all. Again, you had booked the Hooton Pagnell Junior Suite direct online, and all of the imagery and text is representative of this room, so I was unable to offer a refund on that basis. Had you have had any concerns about your room choice, then we could have certainly moved yourself and your partner to a different room – but unfortunately, we weren’t able to offer this goodwill gesture to you, due to the decision to leave imminently. To reiterate, I do hope that both my email correspondence and this response have given further clarity. Hopefully, we will also get a chance to welcome you back to Hooton Pagnell Hall to offer you both a beautiful experience. If you have any further concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch. With warmest regards, Ella M Stubbs Hospitality and Events Manager Hooton Pagnell Hall

Unparalleled service and accommodation. We were greeted by the lovely Sophia who is studying for her masters degree and on a placement. The equally lovely manager Ella was at hand on email and telephone all week to perfect our stay. I have two hotels to recommend: The Stable Arches in Newton Pagnell and The Goring in London. I shouldn't need to say more...

We stayed at the Stable Arches to be close to family in Yorkshire, but adored every minute of our stay and can't wait to return. Everything was perfect: the size and spaciousness of the room; the softest and fluffiest hotel towels we've ever come across; an amazing walled garden for our morning work out routine (who needs a gym!?); breakfast; honesty bar; cleanliness (second to none, I would eat off the floor); cosy interiors etc etc
We could go on and on, but just two last things to note: you do need a car to get here and get around AND Nick was the most charming and attentive host. Such a lovely man doing such a great job - re-setting standards of hospitality that are so often forgotten, even in high end and / or boutique hotels these days. Bravo and thank you!

What an absolute pleasure it was to have you stay with us, your comments are extremely gracious and kind, thank you. We are often told to expect a VIP guest, but this does not sit in our vocabulary as every single guest that graces us with their presence, is so very important to us and you were an absolute pleasure to look after and we certainly look forward to your return visit in 2019. Promise to join you for early garden workout next time - well maybe! Our new suite and two new rooms should be complete before you return offering a new type of room experience for the latter part of the year, perhaps you may like to try out the new library suite! not the real name, that's not yet decided, but it was the former library - we will be waiting for you with arms open.

After having searched for a boutique hotel in this area for a while I came up with Stable Arches and I am so glad we did. We only stayed the one night unfortunately but from the moment we arrived the service was fantastic, Nick is a marvellous host wonderfully assisted by Bev in the kitchen. We asked in advance if they could prepare us an evening meal even though it is not yet something they do. That was lovely as well as the marvellous Yorkshire breakfast.

The property is set in 2000 acres and is just a joy to behold, we stayed in the Ederline suite which was beautifully furnished and presented. The village itself is a real chocolate box of cottages and worth a stroll.

Cannot praise it enough , if you are ever in the area give it a go.
