Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was our 3rd visit, we love it here, the owner, Ken and his family are super lovely. Gorgeous sunrise and sunsets with beautiful views. Great dog walks too. Electric hook up and water. Fantastic place to relax with lots of other things to do in short travelling distance.

High Yedmandale Farm camp site, Yedmandale Road, West Ayton, North Yorkshire. 5 miles from Scarborough you will find this quiet secluded. If you’re looking to find some where to recharge your batteries you will find nothing better than this lovely site. Ken and his lovely wife will make you feel at home with shower/wet room toilets, pot washing area fridge dryer etc.... for site use. Highly recommend you try it.

Whether you are a canvas camper, a caravanner or a motorhome owner and you enjoy isolated but beautiful campsites, then this small CL campsite should be on your visiting list. We recently spent a couple of days at this location and really appreciated the view over miles of unspoilt countyside and the total absence of noise. The drive up to the campsite is via a single track twisting lane, passing much fauna and flora on the way. In fact one of our visitors mentioned that they had come across a deer standing in the middle of the road casually making its way across the road to adjacent woodland. This road terminates at High Yedmandale Farm and the campsite forms an integral part of the Farm. The campsite consists of a 'tenting' field which is usually closed during the winter period, and five or six hardstandings on the entrance to the farm. These hardstandings all have access to electricity and water and are ideal for motorhomes and caravans albeit necessary to use levelling ramps. The views are to die for and the many surrounding walks are just wonderful. The nearest large town is Scarborough, and there are other east coast seaside towns and places of interest within easy driving distance from this campsite. I would have given High Yedmandale a score of five stars had it not been for the adequate but not outstanding toilet facilities, which to be fair we did not see the better side of as much of the facilities were closed for the winter period. On the question of price, well it cost us £21.00 per night for a hardstanding during the winter period, which by any stretch of the imagination is definitely not cheap, but then if you crave this sort of venue then I think you might struggle to find anywhere else as pleasant. So would we visit this place again? Too right we would without a second thought.

Nice friendly campsite for a few days away camping with the kids. I have given 4 stars as this campsite was good for a few days and for what I wanted, Great location for visiting Scarborough (4 miles away), Although Whitby was a bit of a pain to get to and was ok for a trip to flamingo land. The owner was a nice chap and there were a dozen or so other campers with families which was nice as my son had other kids to play with. Shower and wash facilities were ok but would benefit from an update, The campsite is tucked well out of the way from roads and other properties and not greatly signposted, On arrival I had to ask myself if I was heading the right way. All said not bad and we would stay here again.

Nice spacious site with good facilities and pleasant surroundings. Fairly close to Scarborough for supplies. Ken is great and is always knocking about if you need anything. The only thing to note is that the prices on their website are out of date, I’ve added a picture of the price list from the campsite’s notice board. I’d recommend this site to anyone!

Great campsite, beautiful setting, quiet, lots of space, good basic facilities kept clean throughout the day. Ken is friendly and always around either cleaning/fixing or feeding the farm animals. Looking forward to visiting again in the future. Thanks

Me and my husband was recommended this place by a friend and it didn't fail, upon arrival we were greeted with a friendly smile and we asked for a nice secluded spot and got exactly that, the facilities were nice and clean with lovely hot water in the showers, we took out bikes and had a nice 14 mile ride round the forest, the views were stunning and not far from Scarborough, we will definitely recommend this to other friends and we are most certainly coming back again.
