Luxurious Two Bedroom Gite with Private Pool in the Tranquil and Unspoilt Countryside of the Lot Nestled amongst tranquil and unspoilt rural countryside, La Vigne Vierge is a beautiful 18th Century stone property situated in the Lot region of South West France near the small village of Montgesty. Owned and managed by Kate and Andrew Lockwood, who live in the adjacent main house, this fabulous gite offers an adult-only haven of peace and tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. La Vigne Vierge provides luxurious private accommodation for up to four adults with exclusive use of the swimming pool. The property has two characterful bedrooms, each with a king size bed and lovely en-suite shower room. The first bedroom is located on the ground floor and has french doors which provide direct access to a patio and the garden beyond. The second bedroom is on the first floor and has a large separate dressing room. The rest of the accommodation includes a spacious and comfortable lounge and a well equipped modern kitchen with a dining area which has wonderful views across the garden. Outside, set within the large gardens, you will find the private swimming pool and a variety of inviting seating areas in which to relax and unwind. Choose from the sun loungers or sofa next to the pool, a shady spot under the trees or a wonderfully comfortable hammock. All provide somewhere to soak up the sun, read a book or just simply have a snooze after a long day exploring the area. La Vigne Vierge is located just a short drive from the villages of Catus (5 km) and Cazals (10 km). Both villages offer similar basic amenities including a bakery, a butchers, a pharmacy, a small supermarket, cafes and restaurants. They also each have weekly markets selling a lovely selection of fresh local produce. The wider Lot region has an array of attractions including the charming medieval city of Cahors, numerous pretty villages, castles, vineyards, gardens, rivers, caves and fantastic walking trails. We are also situated only a short distance from the Dordogne region where you will find many more sites of interest to visit. This part of France is rightly famous for it's gastronomy and is a delight for food and wine lovers. During your stay you will have the chance to visit some of the many fabulous restaurants that lie within a short drive of the property; everything from traditional and simple auberges to Michelin starred eateries. We are always very happy to offer restaurant recommendations and to make reservations for you if you require. La Vigne Vierge provides the perfect base for a memorable stay in this gorgeous and unspoilt region of France and we look forward to welcoming you very soon.

This is a luxurious, very discreet, comfortable bed and breakfast in a beautifully converted farmhouse, located amongst oak woodlands 20 minutes from Cahors. Andrew and Kate are wonderful hosts and we enjoyed delicious breakfasts of fresh fruit, home made bread and preserves on their pleasant covered terrace. We loved relaxing in their tranquil, shady garden with its swimming pool and we enjoyed visiting the small villages in the area and their nice restaurants, as well as pleasant walks in the woods. Here’s a tip: stay ‘home’ one evening and get Andrew to prepare you his selection of scrumptious tapas. Out of this world!

We were after somewhere special to celebrate our 20th anniversary and wow did we find just that! Kate and Andrew are your perfect hosts, nothing is too much trouble, they are so warm and welcoming. Their breakfasts are wonderfully fresh served on their beautiful terrace with a breathtaking view. Their rooms are so tastefully decorated with everything you could need, even pool towels are provided. The rooms are also cleaned really regularly too. The swimming pool was a major hit for us, water temperature just perfect, sun beds comfy and lots of areas of shade too if it gets too hot. If you are after pure peace and quiet with only the crickets/cicadas to listen to and butterflies to watch then this place ticks all the boxes over and over again. Gorgeous restaurants nearby which Kate and Andrew have thoughtfully printed out with a little review of each one. They will gladly make any reservations for you too. The area inside the B&B is really lovely too with a fridge providing all the essentials drinks (yes wine too)! But also a great coffee machine. They have it all covered! We have travelled to many countries near and far but have never stayed in such a fabulous and memorable place before. Missing it so much! Thank you for an unforgettable stay and making our anniversary so special.

Kate and Andrew are lovely people. Their charming french residence is styled in traditional country french flare. I admired their efforts to construct a balcony covered roof over the veranda. Construction was completed all by hand, and it is just beautiful. The area is charming and serene yet close enough by car to local villages. Highly recommend this treasured spot.

This is luxury accommodation in a beautiful setting. The bedroom was comfortable and clean, with free bottled water replenished every day, and a lovely ensuite with a powerful shower. The large living space had a great honesty bar and free tea and Nespresso coffee, and thoughtfully laid out tables and chairs ensured that people not travelling together could still have space to themselves. The breakfast on the terrace with a selection of croissants and homemade bread and local fruit was fantastic.
This peaceful spot had been perfectly set-up and maintained by its thoughtful and welcoming owners, and we very much appreciated Kate and Andrew's great kindness when we had an unexpected problem on our day of departure. I have reason to travel to this area regularly, and will definitely be back.

We couldn’t have asked for more! Kate’s home is beautiful - the picture’s age accurate but don’t do it justice! The area reminded me of an old, authentic British countryside and Kate’s house is nestled in amongst the beauty of the place. The bed is incredibly comfy, with memory foam pillows that mold to you, a great shower and a delicious breakfast, which is served on the terrace overlooking the garden and quaint vegetable patch. Kate was incredibly helpful with her local tips, both for wineries and restaurants. She made us two reservations and both were perfect choices. I have already recommended this place to friends and it is especially good if you are interested in exploring the area but want to escape to peace and quiet at the end of the day. 2 days of luxury!

Kate and Andrew, the owners, couldn't do enough for us. Gorgeous 18th-century building, in a peaceful setting in a quiet village. A sumptuous breakfast was served every morning with homemade preserves and bread and much more on a beautiful terrace overlooking the garden. Best accommodation we've ever had in France. Thumbs way up!

Charmingly, La Vigne Vierge offers an elegant ambiance and tranquillity with beautifully presented, stylish and immaculately clean accommodation. Delicious breakfasts with home made bread. The grounds offer light and shade for outdoor pursuits with a fabulous private swimming pool for a cool Summer dip. Stunning starry night skies are regularly visible too! Kate and Andrew were extremely kind and provided exceptional assistance when we needed unexpected support. Highly recommended, our return trip is already scheduled.
