Cofton Holidays hotel emerges as a serene getaway, celebrated for its spotless and modern accommodations that offer a welcoming atmosphere. Nestled in an ideal location, it provides guests with easy access to attractions and is lauded for its pristine cleanliness.
While guests appreciate the attentive service, some have encountered slower responses. The amenities, although well-maintained, are sometimes criticized for additional costs, and travelers have mixed feelings about the value for money, due to extra charges for facilities and electricity.

Property's Favourite Review
I booked to stay in one of the dog friendly lodges as a special break for my partner, who was going to celebrate his birthday during the stay and as a late celebration for me. Thete were four of these lodges situated near the perimeter and dog exercise field. Consequently, it was generally quiet.
These lodges are very equipped, the kitchens have everything you need and more, there is a dishwasher and washing machine, you will find items for washing by hand, wipes, a couple of dishwater/ detergent tablets, hand soaps, coffee pods, etc. The dogs had a bed provided along with a bag of treats , poop bags, and towels. You will find a dog wash room onsite. You collect the key from reception for a £10 deposit, and there is a raised table like groomers use for ease of use. You will need your own doggy shampoo. If you need to take your dogs out in the dark, there is a rechargeable torch.
The lodge is spacious and has gorgeous furnishings. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived. There was a welcome pack with local goodies. I had ordered a breakfast and cream tea pack as treats, overall good, but the scones were very dry.
The master bedroom is ensuite with a walk in a closet for storage.Beds are made upon arrival and are extremely comfortable. There is a bathroom, too, unusual, even for a lodge. The gated outside deck is spacious enough for doggo to run around. These lodges are a short walk from the fishing lakes. We used the shop, they stock mainly basics but the prices aren't bad , compared to other parks I've stayed on. Pool access is included in the cost, aquarobics has an additional cost. The indoor pool area was clean, and surprisingly, it was not that busy. We tried breakfast in Amelias, and it was OK. It was nice to sit outside to eat. The pub, shop, pools, reception, gyms, entertainment centre, etc, are all in one location. We tried the carvery, lots of choice of vegetables and meat, the veg was warm but then we were booked to eat late. The meat was fine. During our stay, there was a special American classic car weekend with Fifties themed entertainment for free, an added bonus for us. There is a regular bus service between Torquay and Exeter with stops outside the park . There is a road that runs from the main reception complex to Cockwood and the harbour at Starcross. You will find the Anchor pub here. It's within walking distance. There is apparently a path to the Warren, but it's a couple of miles. The park has wildlife around, thete wete rabbits and hares running around when I took the dogs out in the early morning , and bats flying at night, apparently roosting in a shower block Lots of birds , including owls. Generally, it is a tidy and well-kept park. The one downside for me was the hilly setting, If you have mobility/ breathing difficulties, I suggest that you contact the office to get advice . We stayed here as a couple, and so didn't have extras to pay for , I understand that these could be a problem for families. There is some entertainment for them during the day. There are a lot of things going on in the clubhouse in the evening, a nice variety on offer. We didn't go in there as often as we could have done, ...Due to the Euro's. 🙄.
The lodges are expensive, but they are very well equipped, though, and I would recommend them.
There is a lovely little church with graveyard and war graves next to the park. I went to a service and was told that it was hoped that the church would be opened for visitors during the week. The interior has been refurbished.
They have regular matches on the fishing lakes , and apparently, some nice fish to be caught .
NB; I think that the bus service goes to Torquay, It goes to Dawlish and Teignmouth anyway.

We stayed on a super pitch with our tourer caravan with 3 grandchildren age 10,6&4.
Shower and toilet block was spotless, regularly cleaned and sanitiser was outside entrance. I was very concerned re covid19 but felt reassured with all the procedures the site had in place, separate entrances and exits in shop restaurants swimming pool etc, hand washing facilities and sanitisers placed all around site.
We used both indoor and outdoor pools both you need to be already in your costumes when arriving.
We ate at Amelias cafe, great value food and tasty and staff were very keen to please at a safe distance.
There is so much for the children to do various play areas around the park our favourite was the woodland park above the donkeys which had a zip wire and obstacles to climb.
My biggest thanks goes to children’s entertainers, they were both incredibly positive and brilliant with children, they helped create wonderful memories. Our grandchildren are apparently still talking about their adventures hunting for the dinosaur egg and pirate treasure etc 💕.
We have already booked for next year.

We are so glad to hear that your granddaughters had a fabulous stay with us, and the whole family felt very safe. We have worked hard to implement all of our new measures so we can keep our facilities open for our lovely guests, so it is great to read your five star feedback. Enjoyed a 3 night camping break over bank holiday and were overall very pleased with Cofton Holiday Park. We're novice campers and were slightly nervous of shared facilities but we needn't have worried here - the toilet/shower blocks were clean and well appointed with the only gripe being some of the showers needed shoulder dislocation to keep them running for more than 3 seconds! We stayed on a basic grass pitch with no electric which was at the far end of the site and probably quieter for it which suited us fine. We arrived on Friday and got checked in straight away but we did notice very long queues for check in on Saturday with cars queuing quite a way up the road too. The site had lots of facilities but we only used a couple - the onsite chippy was handy but very expensive and indoor pool was nice but we could only get 1 late afternoon slot while we were there. Overall we had a good experience of camping and wouldn't hesitate to return to Cofton.

We stayed in one of the cottages on the Easton estate (Estuary view) with its own hot tub and it was very nice indeed. We had a small patio with seating area to eat and a hot tub to one side, worth knowing estuary cottage is on the end and very private no one can see you which was great for us, the view was so nice looking out to Exmouth and the train passing from Dawlish was a nice thing to watch although it’s not too close to disturb you. Our cottage had a big feature window that looked out on to a horse field and we loved being able to watch the wildlife, bunnies, birds and the funny squirrels feeding from a bird feeder, take some animal food they will love it.
We’re we’re left milk in the fridge which we were most grateful for as we needed a cuppa when we got there, local cider, fudge, biscuits tea and coffee to start you off.
We found the Sainsbury’s which is not far 5 mins in car and did a food shop.
You have a Bbq outside which we used one evening.
The cottage was very big with a lounge huge tv, dining area kitchen had everything you would need to cook meals and it was all really good quality. Fridge freezer was handy for ice cubes.
A nice bathroom with a corner shower be careful water is very hot! Lovely fluffy towels which is always nice, two bedrooms one double and one kingsize which we used, the only downside to the bedroom and this is personal choice the beds are very firm and the quilts are so thick and heavy we couldn’t move once In bed, we did ask for a summer weight quilt but they didn’t have any, so if I went again I’d take my own.
They provided bathrobes for when you got out the hot tub which was a nice thought.
The hot tub team came 3 times a day to check the water which is good but not if you didn’t expect them and were sunbathing topless like I was🤣 he didn’t seem to mind.
We had a few issues with the jets in our hot tub and a slight leak but it was soon sorted out.
Now to the location, worth knowing the Easton estate is a long walk from the Cofton site, 5 mins in car and you wouldn’t want to walk it. This was ok for us as we are a couple and didn’t use any of the facilities on site, but if you did best to stay on the holiday site I think.
We used both pubs in Cockwood the nearest village to Easton Estate and Cofton site which we booked in advance ( you need to do this) and both were fantastic
The Anchor inn and The Ship
Dawlish Warren is the nearest beach, nice place but very much for families with children, we walked here one morning and took us about 20 mins from the estate
There is a lovely bakery on the way and they sold everything you’d want for lunches.
We saw the lovely lodges on the Cofton site which looked fabulous with outdoor furniture, sun lounges etc although they are very expensive compared to the cottages.
We had a very enjoyable holiday and would go again.

Thank you for a lovely review of your stay in our Woodside Cottages on the Eastdon Estate. They have a fantastic countryside location with lots of woodland wildlife to be seen. You are able to walk through the woods to the main park at Cofton, takes about 20 minutes. We hope to welcome you back again soon.

We stayed for a couple of nights in early December. Pre-booked a specific lakeside pitch at a cost of an extra £10 per stay.
As we approached the site we had to go through some narrow roads and at one point had to reverse our motorhome as a mobile home on a back of a delivery lorry was coming towards us with no space to get through!
On arrival we were checked in efficiently and issued our wrist bands and escorted to the lakeside area. The site was pretty quiet which was nice as I felt the pitches were quite close together had it been full. We re-visited the Reception area to get some leaflets on the local area and the staff were helpful. We were given a bus timetable and we picked up some local maps and walks.
The toilets and shower facilities were in separate blocks next to each other with anti bac dispenser on the outside by the door. All areas felt and looked clean. I also took my anti bac wipes and used them on all touch points before using the shower.
In the ladies shower block there was a separate vanity area with mirrors and plugs so I used that blow dry and straighten my hair. There were 10 shower cubicles with fold out chairs and hooks.
As we only stayed 2 nights we did not get the opportunity to use the pub or cafe or indoor pool – which looked very inviting! There is also a tackle shop on site which was well stocked.
The TV signal is not great but got a reasonable amount of channels. Mobile phone signal hit and miss by the lakes as it was in the dip. This area is also quite to the road so a little bit of noise was heard from passing traffic.
There are bus stops just outside the site. The Bus No.2 on the Cofton side takes you to Dawlish, Teignmouth and onto Newton Abbott. We took the bus from across the road to Exeter. The buses run every half hour / hour depending on the time of day. It took about 40 minutes and cost £6.20 each for a Day Rider Plus ticket to get to Exeter. We had a lovely lunch in Drakes Cafe down one of the side streets by the Cathedral.
We felt the site was safe as security staff drove around periodically.
My husband did not get the opportunity to fish but was impressed with a choice of 5 lakes, so we will return again so he can fish and I can get on the bus to go shopping!
All in all, a good break and felt safe.
Thank you Cofton Team.

We have stayed at this site before and we're impressed by the value, cleanliness, family friendly feel and well kept facilities. So we were excited to be going again this year, even though it had cost £200 more than the same period last year! Unfortunately the price wasn't the only shock. As soon as we arrived we noticed that the site wasn't as upkept as before, and we soon noticed cleaner had slipped too. Toilets were often dirty, no loo paper or hand sanitiser in dispensers for days at a time! Hardstanding pitch was gravel over hard-core and we damaged several stone pegs trying to secure our awning in the poor surface! Getting booking slots for pools was near on impossible, as was getting into the evening entertainment venue which was a free for all after prebooking was cancelled, also not helped by the pub downstairs being closed due to no staff to man it! And then some nights the shop would close early, or the venue had no food available. When we complained about the lack of services and notice given , we were just told there was not enough staff to run the park fully so they were moving them around! When we complained ,we were just told it's an industry wide problem and not their fault, but no reduction in fees was offered despite an obvious reduction in services offered?! Yet they're busy investing in new lodges and expanding capacity (currently during peak period) when the current facilities can't cope with the numbers staying already!!! We certainly won't be back again for the price they're charging compared to the service you receive and I would certainly challenge the 5 star status they claim to be too! 😪

Sorry you were not happy with your stay this year. We are experiencing some operational issues this year which has meant we have been unable to open our Swan Pub, we still have Amelia’s Restaurant and the Warren where you can eat. The table booking system for our entertainment was removed so we could go back to a normal way of running the venue, it does give more flexibility to guests. We have on occasion had to make the difficult decision of closing the shop an hour or two early, and stop food on one evening. We are still in a pandemic and as a company we are not able to go back to complete normal just yet and will continue to work as best we can withing restrictions.

Upon browsing we did not want to pay the price Cofton were asking for a 4 night stay in a luxury lodge. However after shopping around this price seemed the norm and Cofton lodges were the most luxurious by far. We had originally booked Oakcliff holiday park but decided to lose our deposit and book here which was the best decision we made.
We stayed in Lodge 01 which is located towards the back near the footpath that goes alongside the woods.
The lodges are are located in the perfect position and everything about them was beautiful. The cleanliness was also 10/10.
The beds were so comfy and we had the best nights sleep.
The hot tub was checked 3 times a day and all the staff we came across were very helpful,
Although it was the school holidays and the site was very busy, up at the lodges it was very quiet and relaxing.
We did have VIP passes for the pool ect but were so busy we didn’t get chance to use them.
A nice woodland walk to Dawlish Warren, not our favourite place but walk a bit further and you can get to Dawlish.
Highly recommend.
Thank you for the best holiday Cofton!

+1
We have been to Cofton Holidays a few times over the years since 1989.
1st visit stayed in the Orchard camping then the cottages and our most recent visit in the Tamar caravan.
The caravan was clean and met all our needs. The clamp that held the shower head was broke but reported it to reception and it was fixed within the hour.
The site has had a good few extras built on it since were last there like an indoor pool gym sauna and more restaurants.
Couldn’t get booked into the Warren Retreat and the Swan pub was closed but we had a few meals at Amelia s and the food was good. A few staffing issues and food took approx 30/45 mins to arrive but not a problem. We have waited longer in other restaurants.
All staff were pleasant and helpful who belonged to the park.
Had meals from the chippy 2 nights . The 1st no problem with the order and tasted nice.
2nd order 2items missing and the woman made out it was our fault even though we had written her a list. And the pastry on the pie was a soggy.
Indoor pool and outdoor pool great.
The park has clean shower and toilet blocks and stations for washing your dishes for when you are camping.
Laundrette reasonably priced £5 a was £1 for dryer and 20p for 10 minutes with the iron.
Lovely holiday park and would still stay again 😀

We are a family of 5 in a touring caravan. I don't tend to write reviews but I felt this break needed one. Firstly I cannot fault the location or cleanliness of this site. It is spotless. The grounds are immaculate, facilities absolutely top notch and are extremely well looked after and cleaned regularly. It is perfectly located for the surrounding area and has great bus links if needed. However, the service is very poor. Slots have to be booked for the pool, which in my opinion is great. But booking is impossible and slots are 45 mins which is barely enough time to get wet! (This is also chargeable for the indoor pool, £20 for a family hours 5). Bar service is awful. You have to order via app and then delivery to your table is approx 30-45 minutes for drinks...longer for food. We ordered at 10.15 one evening (last orders was 10.45, closed by 11pm). Our drinks arrived at 10.55 and we were told we had 5 mins to drink them and leave! I wouldn't have minded but there were no more than 20 in the bar. I also cannot justify the price. It is extortionate. £6.70 for a lager dash! With thousands of caravans, tents etc on the site and the bar is empty by 9.30 in the main summer holidays surely speaks volumes about the price. We needed to do some washing but decided against it after we discovered it would cost £22 for 2 cycles. We enjoyed our holiday but that was mainly because we spent our time exploring the wonderful Devonshire attractions. Cofton was a base, albeit a beautiful one, but I doubt I'll return again unfortunately.

Hello Claire, sorry to hear you wont return to us. All our staff are working extremely hard to ensure holidays can go ahead as planned. Unfortunately we have been experiencing some operational difficulties which has meant longer waits on food and drink. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay in Devon.

With over 50 years of touring caravan holidays in the uk and mainland europe I believe we are good judges of a well run holiday park.
With the current Covic problems at the forefront of decision making we decided to make a return journey to Cofton.
From the time we arrived we were welcomed by extremely well organised and courteous team members whom escorted us to a very large beautifully manicured pitch .
The toilet facilities were beyond our high expectations with much emphasis on Covid protection so we couldn't have wanted for more .like minded clients with their touring caravans were around us all of whom respected the fact that everybody was at Cofton to enjoy a peaceful and safe stay.
Well done to every team member whom objective was to ensure above all else a safe environment .
A premium site which you should have no hesitation in visiting .

Yes, previous answer covers it all!
Good Afternoon Karen, Thank you for your enquiry. I am pleased to be able to inform you that there is no additional charge for electric in any of our Holiday Homes, Cottages, Apartments and Lodges. I hope that we get the opportunity to welcome you to Cofton in the future. Kind regards, Shaun

Is WiFi good in the lodges? Good enough to have a video call?
Is there a good reception at the site?
We had no problems with the WiFi. You have to buy a voucher for use at reception. They graduate from one day and one user upward. We had 4 days 2 users and had connections all over the site with no dropout.
