Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI

Tsokkos Gardens Hotel is celebrated by guests for its excellent location, with easy access to nearby beaches, shops, and the heart of Protaras. While the hotel's pool and cleanliness receive positive mentions, opinions on value are less favorable, with guests criticizing hidden fees and the underwhelming quality of the all-inclusive meals. The rooms, although spacious and tidy, are often described as outdated and sometimes uncomfortable. While the atmosphere and service have their highlights, such as live entertainment and friendly staff, they also face critique for inconsistency and lack of attention.

A nice place with lots of potential is seems like it’s been let down through the years waiting stuff not up to Standards bar staff friendly and chatty! Food average but for me as all inclusive otherwise I would have be disappointed to pay for it!
Lovely and big enough pool with nice kids area

Location is ideal close to a little beach and the sisters hotels where you can find little water park.
Let’s say that after a “pandemic” this was a nice holiday overall!

Apartment decent size beds very big, AC works but very slow don’t expect your room to be cool in 10minutes but definitely you will sleep fresh at night they change the sheet after a 7days so don’t expect to have them changed every day on a 7days holiday towel always enough and clean everyday overall tidying of the room too! If you are self catering you have a decent selection of cutlery and kitchen utensils.

We will coming back in this hotel!? Possibly in a couple of years to see improvement
Definitely come back to CYPRUS

Visited October for 3rd time. Now caters mainly to Russians and Polish. Adjacent two hotels' visitors came and used the facilities, restaurant and bar.
Despite paying TUI £150 for a room upgrade we were given a room looking over the side of the car park and hotel kitchen. Looking at a parked up hotel lorry below our first floor balcony . Guests above threw cigarette butts down. No light on balcony area. Extra unwanted bed in our room taking up the space making us cramped. Making seating area squashed.noisy air con.
Food was fine. Drinks mainly good depending on who served you. pool bar staff were good. One bar member was rude ignoring me for ages when I was only one at bar. Later on only served me one of two drinks I asked for.Yet others praise him!
Entertainment was very poor. Bingo seemed their highlight. Had good singer one night.
Chairs in bar area very uncomfortable. Plastic bath chairs needed cushions.
Reception staff unfriendly except when manager around. Had to visit them three times to arrange late check out. Kept telling you to come back and wouldn't confirm that you could book out late till third visit.

We have stayed at the hotel many times. The food gets better each visit. Wonderful to have tradition dishes supplied at breakfast if you desired the chance to try. Staff are a asset to the team. Bar staff work very hard as well as the entrainment team. Which work long hours. Due to The collapse of Thomas Cook the entertainment staff were having to cover this hotel and Marlita. But twice a week the team joined together to perform Cabaret act's. The only complaint we had was we paid to retain late departure of room. We were given until 18:00hrs. The cleaners changed our bed and gave us a sheet to lay on top of clean bedding for next customers. This made me feel a bit worried if this had happened to us when we moved into the room?

Good points.
• For the main dining at Tsokkos Gardens Hotel was good, usually offering a variety of food suitable for most tastes.
• Taxis were easily available and prompt.
• Good gym facilities.
• The pools were cleaned daily.
• Exceptional service from Andrey Nikolov (Barman) Rusiak (waiter)

Areas for improvement.
• The main bone of contention was that the vast majority of staff were rude, sullen and unhelpful. It appeared that the paying customers were something of an irritable inconvenience to their working day. I witnessed a number of occasions where the staff, in particular head barman Andreas, appeared to relish unnecessary customer confrontation.
• There appeared to be little or no staff training in areas of general hospitality expected at a hotel of this size. The emphasis was on the number of waiters and waitresses and not their ability to carry out their duties to an acceptable standard.
• General cleanliness, particularly in areas of constant use, was poor. I witnessed cleaning carried out in an extremely perfunctory manner and on a few occasions when I respectfully requested cleaning to be carried out or improved, I was ignored. The tiled floor in the bar area is an extreme slipping hazard exacerbated by the fact that water hazards are not cleared regularly or thoroughly during the day when the pool is in use.

• Bar staff insisted that wines and spirits were served in plastic beakers in the later evening to allow them to clean the glasses early in order to leave. No attention was paid to the fact that wines and spirits are served in particular types of glasses to compliment the type of wine/spirit.
• The hairdryer provided in the room was of very poor quality and not fit for purpose.
• Hallway carpets were very dirty and smelly requiring immediate replacement or carpet shampoo.
No matter how much money one pays for this type of package holiday value for money must be considered. It is evident that the UK visitors are attracted to Cyprus by the glorious weather. Tsokkos Gardens Hotel would do well to remember that Spain, Greece, Turkey etc also have glorious summer weather. As a result, we will not return here and would not recommend this hotel to others.

My reviews are mostly about the personal customer service I receive as I always feel this is most important.
On arival Yiannis gave us a warm friendly welcome & provided us with all info.
Then throughout the 14 days Fani, Szidonia, Maria, Stella,Maria &Loulla continued to provide us help with various request from our family of 32, they went out their way to find us hairdressers and find our lost property.

The staff in the restaurants were equally welcoming, friendly and very professional, Faith always had a bounce in her step to welcome us and was able to recognise other members of our family and ask if we wished to sit near them when possible ,I think she would also be great on the reception desk to provide first point of contact to customers as she has a lovely professional friendly welcoming manner, Also Aristi always provided a great dining table service. other staff were guided and very pleasant.

The food each day was Themed but I thought it was really the same each day but with a couple of choice to represent each theme. (i enjoyed the Mexican best) but all food tasted fantastic and i also loved the baked fish each day.

Bar staff were always pleasant, but lots of us were non drinkers having to queue up for water and soft drinks was a waste of staff and guests time, I do not understand why there wasn't a self service machine for water and soft drinks, as guests would re-use their own cups so it would also cut back on plastic waste.

Entertainment was fantastic there was a lady singer who was fantastic.
a great magic show but personally think all fire shows are dangerous, the girls who provided pool activities were great, Dakta and Sophia were Ok so the hotel
l itself was a great location only 5 mins to walk to beach, and easy access to town.

The rooms were clean but our shower door did not have plastic rubber to stop flooding the floor( i just jammed with a towel) but when a hotel is dated you are always going to find faults like this, there was a maintenance man who came instantly to fix other wee problems, but it was a great holiday but in comparison to other all-inclusive hotels I have had better deals I found this hotel quite expensive with extra charges for wi-fi and safe were unfair so i did not use. amazing with the children too.

Myself and my boyfriend visited this hotel for one week in August 2022. I will start with the positives; the weather was amazing , very hot with a lovely breeze. The pools are brilliant , 2 big pools and 2 small/ childrens pools , which were PH checked throughout the day. The cleaners at the hotel were lovely and made sure our room was spotless everyday , our cleaner was also so smiley (could also put ‘do not disturb ‘ sign up if you didn’t want it cleaning). The hotel is a short walk down to the beach where you can swim with turtles.

However , all the other staff who worked at the hotel were SO RUDE !!!! Not helpful in the slightest (the lady who is the manager seemed like everything was a problem for her , ‘tuting’ and rolling her eyes at our simple questions). The manager of the restaurant was also extremely rude. Shouting at his staff in the middle of the restaurant , staff were dropping plates, throwing around dirty table sheets in the middle of the restaurant. It was so unprofessional. We ordered drinks during our meal which didn’t turn up on two occasions (which we also never received an apology for AND we got charged for them!!! ). The food is like school dinners. I would rate this hotel a 2 * / 2.5* for the restaurant and staffs attitudes. Was not worth the money

Just returned and discusted that anyone defibe this as a 4 star holiday.not family orintated at all numerous issue lacks care and attention, dirty, shabby and basic to say thr least

People flicking cigaretts on family room balcony nothing done.

Blood on walls in corridors not cleaned.

Vommit in corridors covered in sand for 24 hours.

Groups of males drunk swearing and causeing damage.

No security at all and no control or supervision of people and groups that are drunk.

Partys and noise till 3/4 in moring.

Most staff uninterested not even a smile.

Room clean consisted of bed making had to go to store cupboard and get toilet rolls our selves.

Cleaners sat in cleaning room with door open smoking right opposite our room.

Food was repetative and basic, kids choice everyday consisted of nuggets, fries and pasta with sauce, occasonally adding onion ring and meatballs.

Although access to water park included was bonus it was again in need of TLC tiles off and chipped which dangerous, sunbeds broke and dirty, lifeguards to busy on phones and drinks have to be paid for when in park.

Childrens entertainment consisted of 30 mins kiddy disco same dances to be fair girl was very good but family orintated hotel and that was it, no play park for them, a tennis and football court but no activities that engaged them or parents except the usual water arobics and warer polo.
Even the music played was same cd ran daily repetaive

Large pool plenty sunbeds

Overall not a great place we ate out most of week however not all family are able to do this which is why they choose all inclusive.

This was our first time in a tsokkos hotel and i doubt very much we would book another one, it appears the company have the monopoly on hotels in the area and therefore dont feel that basic standards and quality are necessary and just about making money, majority of the staff are miserable and are uninterested in any complaints or queries including the reception staff
Very expensive, disapointing and jet 2 who we booked should be ashamed as they show up for couple hours twice a week if your lucky but equally see that the place needs attention but continue to promote hotel, very disappointing

If you want a 5 star hotel, this is not the hotel for you! However if you are prepared to look past a few shortcomings, this is a VERY GOOD hotel!
We flew with Jet2 so received all the benefits that come with that e.g. free Wi-Fi and safe etc..
The main building is fairly big but a little dark and tired in places, we had a room on the 2nd floor which overlooked the pool next to the apartments! Our room was small and lacked much storage space, but it was clean and the cleaner visited every day! Bed was comfy and the air con good.
Both pool areas are nice and I witnessed the pools being cleaned most days.
Sunbeds round the main pool were generally all taken before 7am most mornings, however it didn’t bother us as We spent most of our time round the smaller pool for the apartments as it was quieter, there were always sunbeds available and there was never a queue for the bar!
Having been to Cyprus many times before we love eating in the local restaurants, so only planned on having breakfast and lunch in the hotel and going out every night for a evening meal, however we did have dinner in hotel twice during 12 night stay.
•Breakfast. Good quality, with lots of choice and plenty of fresh fruit available! My wife used the omelette station every day and our young daughter loved the porridge. There were only 2 toasting stations and they got a bit crowded during service but apart from that breakfast was good.
•Lunch. Again good quality with lots of fresh salad, plenty of choice for both adults and kids. We enjoyed lunch every day.
•Dinner. Only had evening meal twice but both times we enjoyed it! The meals are themed each night and we did the BBQ and Oriental, again plenty of choice and good quality! Lots of choice for desert and both nights there was a huge cheese board with a variety of quality cheeses. Was a bit tricky to get drinks service though as staff were very busy.
The staff in the restaurants work very hard and are very quick to clear plates.
Drinks are of normal All Inclusive standards but are ok.
Personally i found the bar staff to be a big let down for this hotel, they were pretty miserable and uninterested! If they weren’t ignoring you by talking to each other, they were playing with their mobile phone! Almost felt like we were a inconvenience to them, instead of a paying guest! However this in no way spoilt our experience and we had a great time at the hotel and would return again.
Our daughter loved the mini disco and loved both the pools!
So once again this is a good hotel, with a few faults but look past them and you will have a cracking stay!

Words can’t describe this hotel, from beginning to end the hotel was horrendous. We arrived on Sunday 1am exhausted from the long day trip to get an apartment with not enough pillows and very uncomfortable beds. Anyways, now writing this on our last day( Saturday) here being told we need to get everything out the room and check out at 12pm ( was never told this before ) which technically gave us 6 days here when we paid for 7 days, we asked what we are supposed to do 7 and half hours without a room and our clothes in our suitcases they said we can pay an additional charge of €35 to get 6 more hours in the room, honestly just a massive joke.

Day to day in the hotel the food is average the receptionists in the apartments are very rude and unwelcoming as well as the lady in the hut who serves the all inclusive snacks, as soon as you order food from her rather than just a drink her attitude worsens. Honestly the nicest hotel staff here is the lovely cleaners, male waitresses who were very nice and the cooks.
They’re is basically no kids attractions other than a mini disco at 8:30pm other than that there is nothing so kids may get bored.

The apartment pool is literally falling apart my kid one day found a piece of it whilst swimming over the days she found 20-30 more pieces of tiles just floating in the pool.
People reserve sun beds with towels from 8 am leaving no spare but they don’t turn up till 1/2 pm. Nearly all the steps to get out the pool are so wobbly as soon as you step on them they feel as if they’ll break beneath you. The area around it is filled with rubbish everywhere you look and never cleaned.

Worst thing, my daughter wanted to go back to our room to get changed after breakfast and used the left lift in the apartments and got locked in, the lift stopped working she pressed the alarm button to call for help and no one was answering several times. If she didn’t have her phone on her to call me she would of been there for much longer. My husband had to inform the hotel to get maintenance to open up the lift which they then left without a sign that it’s broken for others to use.

Don’t let this discourage you from coming to Cyprus, the country is beautiful and the boat trips were amazing especially the yellow dolphin boat going from Protaras. However don’t let your trip be ruined by this hotel chose something worth your money.

So many things are wrong with this hotel. When you pull up the outside has a lovely grand and modern looking entrance, but what awaits the guests behind the front door is far from modern and grand….

We visited as a family party of 14 across 5 rooms on an all inclusive basis, booked with JET2 Holidays.

It will be simpler to bullet the issues:

1. When sat in communal areas the air conditioning is turned off at 10pm making these areas very uncomfortable to sit in. When we asked why they responded with ‘its management policy’.

2. The drinks are absolutely atrocious! The spirits (or local versions of them which I’ve never seen in any shop) are like syrup and when added to the under carbonated mixer it becomes almost undrinkable. Don’t get me wrong, when on all inclusive I don’t expect top shelf high quality liquor, but I do expect something I can drink. Even the keo beer was poor, which is a massive surprise as I have always found it a very palatable beer.

3. The bedrooms are dated, the additional bed in some rooms was simply a board screwed to a frame (see image). The maids work incredibly hard but the sheets were changed for a week and only then when we asked and sometimes the bed making left a lot to be desired (see picture). A few of the party had their pillows taken away and others had the pillow cases removed and not replaced.

4. Food is generally ok but there’s only so many times you can see a piece of meet being rehashed. It saves on waste though which is important, which leads me onto the point which is not the hotels fault but why do people pile their plates with food then leave most of it….it drives me daft! The staff in the restaurant are a mix of local Cypriot and African migrants, the African staff work incredibly hard and are not treated very well.

In general this hotel is poor, it has a nice pool area but not many activities for kids or adults, there is some entertainment at night but ends with the air con at 10. The bars are open until 12 but I don’t think most people could stomach the drinks served. We ended up buying our own from the supermarket which kind of defeats the object of all inclusive.

It’s a shame as this was once a lovely hotel, just now lagging investment and taking advantage of the guests.
