Chateau de la Couronne is a fairytale French chateau nestled in the countryside of the Charente bordering the Dordogne. Offering luxury accommodation, enchanting gardens and a large swimming pool which is the perfect setting for weddings, events and holiday rentals.

I am so pleased I booked a quick stay at the very beautiful Chateau de la Couronne. Situated on the edge of a natural park there are fabulous walks and countryside to visit close by. The Interiors of the Chateau are modern but with many of its original features still in place. The food was amazing, I am vegan and I was offered a choice of dishes for each meal, which I have to say everything was very delicious. This is a family run business, I found the team very professional, going above and beyond to make our stay, not just comfortable but welcoming and enjoyable. They where always at hand and helpful with recommendations of Local eaters, markets etc. We where very lucky with the weather and managed to fit in an afternoon around the pool, sunbathing and swimming which was so lovely and relaxing. I am only sorry we couldn't stay longer, but will definitely be back. Thank you Chateau de la Couronne, looking forward to my next visit. Edwina

We celebrated our wedding at Chateau de la Couronne this past August. From beginning to end, the entire weekend was a dream. We were treated like royalty by Lucy & the entire Butler family as soon as we arrived right until our last day. They ensured everything was organised and prepared for, as well as making sure our guests felt comfortable & at home. On the day of our wedding, they went above and beyond to ensure every detail was accounted for, giving us a truly magical day. Lucy’s eye for detail is next level and her gift of styling meant all of the visions for the wedding came to life. Our guests commented on the beautifully decorated Chateau, the fresh & delicious food & wine, and how intimate our ceremony was. Lucy worked tirelessly with all our vendors to ensure everything ran smoothly on the day. It was above & beyond our expectations. We held a Day 2 BBQ on the grounds and our guests marvelled at the presentation & how freshly prepared the meals were (prepared in house by their incredible chef Ben). The team paid particular attention to ensure options were available to those with allergy requests which we really appreciated. We received countless snippets of feedback from our guests on how kind and courteous the staff at the Chateau made them feel. I cannot thank Lucy & team enough for their kindness, hospitality and for bringing our dream wedding to life. It’s been over two months since our wedding and our friends & family are still praising how fabulous, entertaining & intimate our wedding was. I would highly recommend the Chateau to anyone looking to celebrate their day with an authentic, elegant, Chateau experience.

We had our wedding here on June 1st 2023, we are from the UK but my grandad lives in France and I had always loved the thought of getting married there for that reason. I can’t recommend this chateau enough if you are looking for a wedding in France, not only is the chateau beautiful in its own right, the surrounding area is also idyllic, based in the quaint small village of Marthon. Inside the chateau you’ll find a sense of luxury in the decor and more than enough to impress guests! All of our friends and family still say how breath taking the chateau was and what a fabulous time they had! The food also was incredible, not only on our wedding day but we had a BBQ the next day which was 100% the best BBQ we have ever had! The food was so tasty and the presentation was perfection! All our guests throughly enjoyed! More than that though, for us it really was the hosts that made our wedding day exceed all of our expectations. Andrea, Ben and David really did make sure everything was taken care off and really did go above and beyond in so many ways. Overall our wedding day will always be the most amazing memory thanks to the effort from the whole Butler family and their gorgeous chateau. It’s truly so special and I would recommend to any couples who are looking for a wow venue with guaranteed top quality service.

I stayed in this stunning chateau for my best friends wedding and I could not have wished for anything more for her. The venue was a fairytale. Andrea, Lucy, Ben and co could not have done anything more for us, they were on hand at all times to ensure everything ran smoothly and make sure all guests were looked and happy after at all times. The whole few days were a dream. The food was absolutely amazing, the drinks flowed and the overall backdrop and ambiance was something you could only dream of. Attended the wedding of friends here and what a fabulous venue. The owners were wonderful, they made sure everything ran smoothly throughout the day, as well as putting on an amazing BBQ spread on the day after the wedding. They were at all times friendly, professional and made it look easy, even though they were putting in a huge amount of work behind the scenes. The chateau and grounds are stunning, so picturesque and peaceful, complete with a pool! Would highly recommend for any occasion - wedding, party, or for a holiday with family/friends.

Wow, what an incredible time we had attending our friends wedding a Chateau de la Couronne. This place is seriously stunning, it felt like stepping into a fairytale. The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff made us feel like VIPs. Would definitely recommend!!

We stayed at the chateau for a wedding and it we had the most wonderful time! The chateau is absolutely beautiful and the team are wonderful! We had a 3 day celebration consisting of a pre wedding party, wedding day and pool bbq party the day after and we could not fault it! Would highly recommend!!

We stayed here for my sister & brother in laws' wedding at the beginning of August. We all travelled from Ireland & we had the best time! The Castle looks like something from a movie. The rooms were all so stunning, impressive and the beds were very comfy. I was Bridesmaid for my sister & the staff were amazing, they took care of the couple so well from the lead up in the morning to Day Two. The food at the BBQ was so tasty. Thank you so much Lucy, Ben & Andrea for taking such good care of us!

My cousin got married at this beautiful property and we were fortunate enough to stay for several days. The place is just everything you imagine a dreamy French chateau to be, from the decor, food, the beautiful grounds, service. Total peace and relaxation. I understand that the owners have recently taken the place over, it is a very slick operation. I do hope to return.

Amazing venue for my best friends wedding. Couldn't have picked a better backdrop. Amazing friendly staff. And the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. The rooms are beautiful. The entire place is stunning. Highly recommend for the princess wedding of your dreams.
