We loved Chalet Milou We stayed early Feb, 2023, and thoroughly recommend for a couple or small family. It's a small, detached chalet, a traditional building in the upper part of town, just 50 or so yards to the nearest piste. The chalet is warm and cosy, with underfloor heating, electric radiators and and an open fire with plenty of firewood. We arrived to find the place clean and tidy, with plenty of towels and fresh linen. More importantly, Chalet Milou has everything you need - the kitchen is small, simple and very easy to use. Gas hob, electric oven, microwave toaster and kettle. Plus all the saucepans, utensils, peelers, graters, scissors, crockery, glasses, cafetiere etc that you might need. We found it a really easy kitchen to cook in. There's no dining table as such, but 4 stools for the kitchen bar, or a table in the relaxing area in front of two double sofas. One of those sofas is a folding bed. And then there is a sturdy ladder up to the mezzanine for a double bed upstairs, with some storage baskets and shelves to help you keep tidy. It's not a big space, but I'm 6'5 and found it plenty big enough to move around and sleep well. Good curtains and double glazing keep it pretty warm through the night too. Matt was helpful through the booking process and answered emails quickly enough for me to feel comfortable with all the planning. There's space just outside the door to unload / load the car and free parking 100m away. It's also only 30 seconds walk to 1580, an excellent spot for delicious coffee, a decent beer and fabulous food. It's not the height of luxury, but great value for money, and by far the cutest, cosiest, and easiest place I've stayed in the mountains.

Matt and Jette did such a great job. So welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. Incredible food, really. Cloud berry custard was my highlight. Always a brilliant cake ready when you return from skiing and the chalet was perfect. Great views over the valley.

From the initial email to the fond farewell, everything was an absolute delight. Prompt replies to queries and an easy booking process. The chalet is lovely with great facilities and in a quiet location in this charming resort. Matt’s cooking is rightly renowned in the valley and he consistently produced delicious, beautifully presented cakes and meals. Crona is a brilliant host and there was so much joy and humour in the way we were all looked after by this delightful couple. Thank you!! Highly recommended!

Me and my partner stayed in Chalet Milou and a large group of our friends stayed in the larger chalet etoile de foret. We loved the little cosy chalet, spotlessly clean and perfect for the two of us. You really couldn't get much of a better location for the slopes just two minute wander straight onto the slopes. Due to a cancellation we were lucky enough to join in the catering on the larger chalet. The food was fantastic the afternoon cakes were a particular highlight. Matt and Crona were great hosts providing everything we needed and more couldnt have been more accommodating. I would definitely reccomend and will definitely be visiting again.

We stayed here as a group early February. A very gorgeous Chalet, with open plan kitchen, dinning and lounge area which focused around a very warm and relaxing open fire. The view from this area was a backdrop of mountains. The Chalet consisted of double, and twin rooms some with ensuite some shared a bathroom. There is also a sauna which was a welcome addition at the end of a long day on the slopes! Crona and Matt were outstanding, nothing was too much trouble, the food felt like we were dining in a Michelin starred restaurant! everyone was catered for , Vegetarians, gluten free, pescatarian, and meat lovers!! If your thinking of a catered Chalet in saint Foy, look no further!! ( I should add, there are quite a few steps to the main road/resort, so just bear that in mind)

This was our second time staying with White Room and Crona and Matt were the reason we returned. Their hospitality and food were exemplary. We had several different dietary requirements in our group and nothing phased Matt. We all ate delicious, inventive food regardless of any restrictions. Seriously as good or better food than most restaurants we've eaten in and certainly better than any other chalet by a country mile! The breakfasts set us up for a great day's skiing. You could leave boots and skis at the ski shop which is 5 minutes walk from the chalet but 2 minutes from the lift. We had a great week with all pistes enjoyable and some great off piste powder for those that wanted. It's cheaper than most resorts, much less busy - we queued once in a week!, friendlier, mostly better prices on the mountain. Can't recommend highly enough. (Just as long as this review doesn't mean that they become so popular that we can't book again!)

We stayed with Crona and Matt at The White Room for a week in February 2020. This is the second time we have stayed with them and we will absolutely be going again. They are brilliant hosts, and helped with every aspect of our holiday. Truthfully it is like staying with friends, but you don't have to cook or wash up! Matt's food is unbelievably fantastic and varied, and Crona's cakes are stupendous and often unusual, and they both catered for every taste and allergy cominbination. The bedrooms were lovely and comfy and warm, ours had an ensuite, and Crona cleaned and made the rooms up every day. A sauna, an almost permanent log fire, a heated boot room, great views, and good WiFi, all contributed to a most excellent week. The White Room is about a 5 minute walk to and from the lifts (you can leave your boots and skis near the lifts), and Sainte Foy has a really good range of restaurants and bars and apres-ski. With only 4 lifts, Sainte Foy opens up the entire mountainside for a good week's skiing and, for the more experienced, the backcountry and off-piste is (literally) legendary. As are Matt and Crona!! Thank you both. :-)

Organised by some friends, this was my first time in Sainte Foy - we were a group of 11. I highly recommend both the resort and the fantastic chalet hosted by Matt & Crona. The ski-area has plenty to keep you entertained with masses of easily accessible off-piste to play in. Our chalet (Etoile du Foret) was a typical French style with lovely views. Access was down quite a few steps, but no problem in normal footwear. I was in one of the twin rooms, really comfortable bed and good shower in the en-suite. The chalet has an arrangement to leave skis & boots with a ski shop right by the main lift, so no trudging up the steps in ski boots is required. Matt & Crona are superb hosts, and the quality of the food was sublime. The top class catering experience of both shines through every morning and evening; Inventive, delicious & nourishing 3 course evening meals with lovely wine, and the plentiful breakfasts more than set us up for the day on the slopes. Crona was also super helpful in helping us sort an alternative return transfer after we were let down by our booked company the night before we left 😳

11 of us stayed with Matt and Crona for a very excellent week. This was our second time with White room and having loved our first stay 2 years ago, we weren’t disappointed this time. Food still as inventive and delicious as ever, Crona and Matt equally as great hosts as last time. All our friends loved their stay as much as we did. Definitely will be back again.

Let me start by saying I myself have been involved in hospitality both overseas and in the UK for thirty years plus on and off. That includes ten winter seasons and numerous summer seasons working in six different countries. In all that time I've never been so appalled and disgusted by any company I've either worked for or stayed with. The holiday was ruined before I even got to France by Crona and the way she misled me. I signed up to the so-called Splitboarding Course held in January this year. In fact, I was the first one to get on board. After some email correspondence I was told this was suitable for someone who is a complete beginner to splitboarding. To make absolutely sure I even called her from the UK to explain my circumstances having never done it at all before. She told me there would definitely be other people " in my boat" and Stevo, the guide, would be teaching us everything we need to know. Having assured me of this, I went ahead and booked. Her email correspondence after this was sporadic bordering on poor right up until my arrival. I knew within minutes of being allocated a shared room, no ensuite, that I'd been completely misinformed and miss sold the trip. Everyone signed up was way more experienced than me in splitboarding. I'd been conned. The next morning Stevo took is up to a skin track to start. He obviously had no idea I was a beginner. Crona hadn't told him. Nobody checked my equipment was sorted and safe, no avalanche brief or transceiver practice. He didn't check my splitboarded gear or whether I had a probe, shovel, spare clothing, water or food. Worse was I'd never had any practice of the kick turns essential for going up and Stevo tried to teach me half way up whilst everyone else was waiting. I got exhausted, and increasingly anxious having everyone else waiting. I knew that I was dangerously exhausted and chose to turn back rather than put myself at risk or those in the group. I went back to the chalet dejected and wanting to go home. Crona and Matt did absolutely nothing. I mean zero. They never came to sit with me to find a solution or to apologise for the lies I'd been told before I booked. No refund or offer of paying for me a guide for a few hours to learn the basics. Appalling customer care. For the rest of the week I had to go out on my own having tried to learn the basics from You Tube. There was no course, just guided riding for already experienced split boarders. The only time anyone bothered to have a proper chat about the problem was the night before I was leaving. A complete waste of time. To add to this, the chalet was far from impressive. Don't be deceived. It's not close to the lifts at all. It's halfway down a slope several flights of mud steps and two sets of metal ones to even get to the level of the first lift. I was in a double room that wasn't an white and several of us were sharing a bathroom. I don't think Crona bothered to clean the room after Tuesday and the toilet and bathroom was dirty most of the week. There was excrement plastered onto the toilet bowl for days. The hygiene was disgusting in there. I'd have been sacked for that, and this is the owner!!? I could go on, but there's no point. The catering was more hipster than chalet. One of the other guests describing it as style over substance. I'd completely agree. Failed restaurant people not chalet people. It pains me to say that as I really liked Matt as a person, but he showed no interest in anything other than cooking. My advice is don't go anywhere near this company. They aren't bonded or affiliated to anyone. I took legal advice and was told they are untouchable over there. I would not have slept at night letting a client down as badly as they did. There are plenty of other options out there.
