This is a truly wonderful place. The barefoot experience of wandering around along tree-lined shaded sandy pathways with little bars and restaurants along the way, manned by delightful staff, watching enormous fruit bats fly overhead (confusingly all through the day). The food at the several restaurants is fresh, well-prepared and beautifully served - delicious. Local cocktails are pretty and fruity. The restaurants do have set service times, but you can usually find a snack somewhere. And then there’s the sea - oh my goodness! We’ve been to some beautiful beaches fringing beautiful sea but this is something else. The very epitome of a tropical paradise!

When planning your journey you will have a choice betweena sea plane transfer and a domestic flight. Previously we have always selected sea plane transfers to islands that can’t be reached by boat. This time we thought we’d try a domestic flight. So much more waiting around and it added about five hours to the journey. We decided to do the return transfer by sea plane and it was well worth the additional cost. We would never do a domestic flight transfer again! Check in at the resort was fast, friendly and efficient. The resort is relatively new , about five years old, but it was built on an established island with lots of natural vegetation. We have stayed on many Maldivian islands over the past twelve years and this one gets top marks for design! Not just the layout of the resort but the design of the room and garden. We had a beach villa and it more than exceeded our expectations and needs. The garden leading to the beach was wider than previous resorts and had lots of shade as well as sun if you moved down towards the beach. We were in room 339 and the beach in front of the villa was wide and perfect. Toiletries were of a decent standard (shampoo, conditioner , shower gel and soap. There was a bath as well as an outdoor shower and a big fan which was brilliant for drying our diving equipment! The bed, bedding and pillows were all incredibly comfortable. The room was cleaned to a very high standard by Shyam and the two foot showers for front and back ensured minimal sand in the room. We were All Inclusive and ate all our meals in the Vakaru restaurant. There was plenty of variety for us and we were more than happy with the food. I particularly enjoyed drinking the sparkling white wine at mealtimes! Service was excellent and special thanks to Rasheed and Sateeth (not sure I’ve spelt that correctly) for their excellent service and lovely smiles! There were five other restaurants that you could pay extra to eat at or pay the extra $40 per person per day to upgrade from All Inclusive to All Inclusive premium. There is quite a lot of walking around the island and most days we walked a couple of miles a day going to and from the restaurant, bars and dive centre. The marine biologist resident on the island did a wonderful job of monitoring the Green turtles nesting areas and the hatching of the baby turtles. The dive centre is run by a Swiss owned company Sea Explorers. All very friendly and good at their jobs. I'll write a separate review for them! If you'd like to see what the diving was like then check out my YouTube channel Gerry Green Diving for the'Come Dive with me in the Raa Atoll, Maldives February 2023' We would happily return, but by seaplane.,

A stunning island with lovely rooms. Quiet enough to find pockets of beach where you feel like you are on your own private island. Amazing water sports and trips also on offer. Our absolute highlight was the food. The chef’s are amazing!! Friendly, smiley and amazing cooks. The desserts were particularly special!

Amazing five days in paradise! I booked a garden villa and decided to upgrade to a water villa! Worth every dime! The house reef is amazing with a free guided snorkel excursion daily! My Swedish massage was the best I have had in years! Staff is amazing! I’ve got a lot of allergies and they created a meal daily so I could eat! It might be a long flight to get here, but you will be in feel calm, rejuvenated, and at peace when you leave!

Reethi Faru is amazing. We've just had 12 nights there in beach villa 350 on the sunrise side. This was perfect for us, with lots of privacy due to the planting between the villas, just yards from the beautiful beach. The food in Vakaru main restaurant is fabulous - thanks to the executive chef and his team who take the time to talk to guests about the food. The staff obviously care about their work and it shows. One of the chefs is an artist who decorates the food beautifully, does watermelon carvings and even an ever changing sand sculpture. Our waiter, Satheeth, deserves a special mention and thanks for being so lovely and efficient, happy to chat although he was busy and telling us facts about the island and finding us a table in our favourite area. The bar staff at the couple of bars we used most, quickly learnt what we were likely to order. The house reef is fabulous with good coral growth, loads of beautiful fish, a couple of turtles, rays and small sharks. There are several good entrances through the coral giving a choice of routes to snorkel. Laura, the Marine Biologist is very willing to chat about her work and the ocean and also deserves a special mention. Don't miss her Technical Tour of behind the scenes, which demonstrates how hard the resort is working on sustainability and we get to see some of the workings of the resort. We also did coral planting with Laura which was a great opportunity for us. The Manta Ray snorkel trip from the Dive Centre was also fabulous and we got to swim with several incredible mantas at 3 different spots. The free Sunset Trip is also worth doing as it takes you very close to a local island to see a glimpse of real island life, although there is a trip to a local island too but we didn't do that as we have done one on a previous island. I can't praise Reethi Faru enough and it's great to see a resort caring about the environment as well as providing a wonderful holiday. Thank you so much to all the staff, we hope to be back.

Me and my wife stayed in house 341 at the south side. Perfect beach with the whitest sand I ever saw, fantastic reef like made for snorkeling, cute bungalow right on rhe beach - private and secluded - neat and tidy. Staff super friendly and helpful, top service. Lots of activities if you need them, but really, you don’t. Good food all over, even if not Michelin level. Best vacation!

A beautiful and relatively new facility in the Raa Atoll. The concept is well thought out, the rooms are practically furnished with high-quality furniture. The resort is an eco-friendly resort and it's worth taking the technical tour to see what goes on behind the scenes (biogas plant, solar panels, and more). The pool is currently being renovated during operation. It doesn't look nice, but swimming is still possible without restrictions. The house reef is just a few meters away and is very vibrant. During our week, we were able to observe sharks, turtles, and more. The staff is always friendly and the procedures (check-in, check-out, luggage transport) are perfected and optimized. Every staff member approaches the guests, engages in friendly small talk, and inquires if there are any questions or needs. The buffet food was unbelievably high quality; we didn't even feel the need to try an à la carte restaurant. Each day, a different theme is cooked (Italian, French, all-over-the-world, Asian...). The buffet is lovingly presented and constantly replenished. Rajesh (the head chef) personally welcomes the guests, and my sister, as a vegetarian, received a vegetarian menu every day, lovingly served directly at the table by various chefs (appetizer, main course, dessert). The service is unique and I have never experienced anything like it before. Conclusion: We will definitely be back soon!

We've been to a dozen on more Maldivian resorts and have to say that this is one of the best for facilities and value. We had a water villa, which was very spacious, had two sun decks, rain shower and sunset view. Five bars meant that we had no shortages of places to drink and the staff at each were great. A special mention for the boys at Thari bar, Veyo bar at the swimming pool, and the main Haruge bar (with the exceptional Shahin). The food and choice at the main Vakaru buffet restaurant was great, particularly the Maldivian corner, with really good curries. Thanks to the Exec Chef who arranged a special curry, cooked by a member of his staff from his grandmother's recipe back in India, and the chef who went out of his way to prepare a Rogan Gosht. Only minor complaint was that the table service could be a bit slow at busy times. The paths and their surrounding plants/trees were kept in really good order and it is worth looking at the resort garden to see a colourful display of flowers and shrubs, as well as some vegetables for the restaurants. The swimming pool (at 25 metres it was a real swimming pool) and the sports centre staff who look after it and the guests were great. We booked a three trip snorkel trip package at the dive centre. Lots of choice and the manta ray trip was brilliant, with many repeated manta encounters. We even saw a manta whilst snorkelling along the house reef on the South East side of the island. The first time we've seen one on any house reef in hundreds of hours of snorkelling. There were encouraging signs of coral growth on the house reef along with a huge variety of fish, rays and sharks and a few hawksbill turtles. It was good to meet marine biologist, Laura, who is doing great work with coral planting and other marine activity. She also runs back of house tours so that guests can see how the resort desalinates water, produces electricity and deals with all waste in as eco efficient way as is possible. Should be compulsory for all guests so they don't waste water, power or create excess loads of washing (towels and sheets particularly). It was good to renew acquaintance with General Manager, Peter, whom we had met before at Reethi Beach. And thanks to Peter's wife, Susanna (apologies if spelling wrong!), who made us feel very welcome at the pool every day, took an interest in us and gave us much useful information. We don't re-visit many Maldivian resorts, but we will be back at Reethi Faru.

My sister and I have just returned home after 2 wonderful weeks at Reethi Faru. Everything, and I mean everything, was perfect. We couldn't have asked for more. Food was delicious. All staff were friendly, helpful. Everywhere was immaculate. The reef was cared for and marine life plentiful. The enthusiasm shown by ALL the staff for the island and for us to have the best holiday, was outstanding. From yoga, the technical island tour, the spa, the waters ports centre, all the restaurants, Sunset bar!!!! It was so perfect and memorable. We are "fussy eaters" to say the least. Rajesh went above and beyond to ensure we were fed, happy and looked after. In summary.....this was supposed to be a once in a lifetime holiday for the two of us........we are already planning when we can come back. Thank you Reethi Faru. Perfect in every way.
