The small resort dates back to 1916, excellent located facing Roskilde Fjord with stunning views! 28 standard double and superior rooms - some with balconies and all facing the sea. The hotel has a very popular Danish, French and Italien a la carte restaurant with great outdoor service as well. An extensive wine list is available and many wines by the glass. Recently the hotel was taken over by experiences hoteliers and many new products and interiors are being replaced here in 2018 and 2019. The resort is also an excellent venue for small conferences and family gatherings/banquets. Welcome back to Badehotel Søfryd! Martin & Anders (new owners) since Oct. 2018

Went with a group and the organiser chose the hotel. A quaint hotel situated right on the fiord, a quiet, lovely location for taking trips round the area, such as Copenhagen, the Viking Museum, Roskilde, Helsingor (of Hamlet fame), the open air museum at Lyngby etc. My type of breakfast with beautiful breads, jams, cheeses and meat as will as other things in a lovely room overlooking the fiord, as was the terrace for evening drinks. Dinners expensive, but then Scandinavia is expensive.

This is a small and very nice hotel, excellent service and the location is priceless. Situated at Roskilde fjord, it has an mamboing view. Shops are nearby and it is right on the beach. Nice rooms, and very clean. The breakfast is very small, and the dinner was not up to standards. But i would settle for hotdogs from the nearest gas station just to live there.

Stayed two nights on a touring holiday. Room was a bit dated but very clean. Wonderful views and well located near to Roskilde. Easy to get to Copenhagen. Hotel had lovely service, with wonderful breakfast with home made bread and jam and wide choice. We ate at the hotel on the first night - very attentive service with traditional cuisine, but quite expensive, however this was not unusual for Denmark. The owners were lovely and welcoming and made really useful suggestions on transport and things to visit.

It is not easy to find hotels in Denmark, the type they have in France ( Augerge ), or in Germanspeaking Countries ( Gasthaus ).

Hotel Sofryd is a summercamp place, with the typical Danish hotel "flair" a la 1980s.

Nothing has changed over the last 30 odd years. Same narrow bed, also sagging like an old horse, dirty carpets all over this "hotel". No real curtains to keep the light out. TV with "snow" and a few channels.

There is a kitchen, and what they produce there, can best be described as a culinaric disaster.

All in all, for 1 night with a products from the kitchenregion your pay Euro 170.-.

For this, I have spent excellent dinners&nights including starrated restaurants in Alsace.

Will I return to Sofryd - no I will not.

Stayed here in December 2009 on business. All copenhagen hotels booked out due to global climate change conference ...so we ended up at hotel sofryd.. It was a bit like sleeping in a caravan .. Food was dreadful too., we had breakfast and dinner and neither was a pleasant experience.. Taxi drive to city took AGES!!! And v expensive.. Wont be back .. Sorry

The hotel is very out dated. The rooms are located at the wing which have no view to the water. On the pictures it looks like that you will have a wonderfull view, but no.....
We had breakfast, but is didn't smell very good so we only ate bread with nutella.
The people who work in the hotel were not very friendly (except for one man who helped us with the internet). We should stay for two days, but we left after one. Don't go, there it is really not worth to stop at this hotel or surroundings.

We were given a fabulous room with balcony overlooking the fjord which gave us a wonderful sunset. This great hotel has tables inside and out, with excellent breakfast and dinner. Garden takes you down to the waterside.

Like a previous review I could not get hotel in centre of Copenhagen and ended up here, Location fine but once through the door my whole experience changed. Reception not very welcoming with view into kitchen, room was at back of building with most rooms having side view only, not overlooking the water, the room did feel like a caravan with green blanket, very cheap tv with limited channels all with snowy picture, Basically this room was not good at all. When I went to get something to eat the waitress told me to wait in hall which I did watching her march back and forth to kitchen, after 5 minutes I walked out and eat at marina near by where I planned my escape and managed to book hotel in Copenhagen for 2nd night, not cheap but well worth it. So if its a hostel you are looking for then find a hostel not Sofryd!

Nice place, good restaurant - friendly atmosphere. Rooms a little old - but clean. The location however really adds to the experience. You have the ability to have a nice long walk to the nearby little harbor. You need to have a car to reach this place.

This hotel is in a beautiful location with a lovely view over the Fjord from the terrace. The room however was basic.we had narrow single beds and the bathroom was cramped. Breakfast was self sevice with a variety of breads and cereals. We stayed for 5 nights and ate there three times. It was adequate but overpriced and the service at times was dreadful. The hotel was a disappointment and too expensive for the standard of rooms and the limited menu.
