I have been to this hotel 6 times, and I keep coming back because the ambiance, staff and location are tip top. First, it's a classic Gasthaus: spotlessly clean and fully appointed. Herr Schachten & his family are wonderful hosts and very helpful. Then, on top of that is the fact that every room has a balcony overlooking the Neckar... More

This hotel, although not a five star hotel has a five star location. Our room had a great balcony which looked over the river and we could see one of the castles from it. Pleasant and peaceful. The owner and his wife were extremely helpful and nice. Breakfast was great and the resturant where the husband cooks was great. We... More

This hotel sits on the banks of the Neckar River just a short drive to Heidelberg. Every room has a balcony and is modern and very clean. The family that owns it works hard to make their guests feel at home and all of the cakes served in the café are homemade and fresh. There are 4 castles to explore,... More

Family owned and run very nice hotel and restaurant. Beutiful river views. Friendly and wonderful service. The food was authentic Württemberg cuisine. Hotel and restaurant rates were very resonable. A nice river side walking path made this a great place to relax and stay.

This is one of the finest three star hotels that I have stayed in. The innkeepers are extremely courteous and helpful. It is in a great location. The view from your home and the restaurant are splendid. Yes, the decor is dated, but everything is immaculately maintained and clean. One thing that definitely needs improving is the wifi service, which... More

No question the location is stunning,however.......it's not only the location of a hotel that makes for a memorable stay. This is a very basic but adequate hotel set in a 1950's time warp. Breakfast again was adequate with a few cereals ,breads, ham and cheese.

Arrived on motorcycle in the rain. Good room with a balcony and view over the river Neckar with lots of barges and pleasure boats. The restaurant was closed the night we were there but it was only a 15 minute walk to the town to a decent restaurant. Breakfast was really excellent with a large variety of food and cakes.... More

We stayed two nights with our two daughters (12 and 15) in this unbelievably friendly and beautifully located hotel, all rooms with balconies facing the river (only a footpath between the hotel and the river and fields on the other bank with the village 15 min walk upstream), a selection of medieval castles in the forested slopes behind, one of... Very friendly hotel - I was greeted by the youngest member of the family, who handed me my key and said "danke schön". The eldest member served me delicious kuchen. And in between was a delightful staff. The rooms have little balconies and all seem to face the beautiful River Neckar. You should know that it's a 20-25 minute walk... More

I stayed in this hotel whilst in Germany on business. I would highly recommend it for a similar stay or even whilst visiting the area on holiday. Whilst not being a luxury hotel I found the room to be very clean and comfortable with views over the river from the balcony an added bonus. The family and staff running the... More
