Stayed overnight here while doing c2c. Excellent service, excellent food. Terry and Lorraine were a very friendly couple and made our stay all the more pleasant. Basic but comfortable clean room with very comfy bed. Would definitely stay there again and visit the restaurant again.

We stayed here as part of a 3 day C2C perfect hospitality food was outstanding simple food cooked and prepared very well. I tried beef roll and being a southerner it's not a dish I'd ever tried, beef Cooked great gravy very tasty and a very fresh bap=happy cyclist. Overall opinion great little find well chuffed.

We had an over night stop here last night. Breaking up the c2c journey. What a lovely experience it was too! Lorraine and Terry were great hosts. Even accommodating our friend who wanted a bath when there was only a shower in her room. The room was comfortable and had tea and coffee making facilities. The shower was hot and... More

Loraine and Terry are very good hosts and nice people. When you arrive, they immediately get you a hot coffee or tea - or anything else you pant for. They both love looking after their (often exhausted) guests, treating them on a good meal and a drink and socialize with them. You feel welcome and taken care of. They serve... More

This was such a welcome sight on our bike ride, we are not used to cycling so found it quite a hard climb to here. Lovely place to sit in the garden with a pot of tea. The staff all seemed very busy and stressed when we visited so service wasn't perhaps as good as it would normally be but... More

We were very disappointed with the stay. The bedrooms are very basic with low quality beds and mattresses. Bedding was not clean and room had marks on wall. The food was also basic and poor quality. Upon arrival you receive a talk about why you can't have one thing and another making it sound like a very rigid and unaccomodating... More

This is the second year we have stopped at this cafe for a bacon sandwich on the C2C. We find the owners to be extremely friendly and welcoming even when there was 17 of us that arrived all at once and all wanted a bacon sandwich and hot drink! It should DEFINITELY be a stopping point on your own C2C... More

Not the fittest bunch of cyclists so even more rewarding when you get there. We were running late but the owners made us feel very welcome, took our evening meal orders as we arrived which allowed to get showered and sort ourselves out. The evening meal was outstanding. Fantastic nights sleep as it is so far away from the road... More

Warm welcome and a comfortable room. The food was excellent at both dinner and breakfast. This is an extraordinary place to stay and a remarkable achievement for the owners who created this place and who show an obvious desire to make guests welcome and comfortable

What a brilliant find Parkhead Station was! Myself and my husband had just finished a day of cycling in the wind on our C2C challenge. We had a lovely welcome when we arrived shattered and cold from the owners Lorraine and Terry. The rooms were perfect, lovely and warm and had everything you needed. We had an evening meal and... “We didn't sleep here we only used the restaurant/tea-rooms so can't comment. But would be willing to book in future.”

“The Parkhead Station is a perfect place to stay when taking part in the C2C - but is very remote - my tip would be to pre book your evening meal by ringing a couple of days before you arrive and Lorraine can confirm whats available and accommodate any dietary requirements. The food is freshly made and is great after some quite heavy cycling during the day.”
