Me and my fiancée have recently returned from this fabulous hotel. It has been our only staycation since everything has happened with Covid. We must firstly say that we felt 100% safe and secure with all the practiced the hotel had put in place with regarding social distancing, sanitizer etc.
The staff at the hotel make you feel welcome from the minute you walk in to the moment you leave and nothing is too much hassle for them and they always have a smile on there faces.
The room was a lovely size with the views over the rear of the hotel and its gardens and then as soon as you leave the room you have views over the front of the hotel and beyond which is lovely to see first thing in the morning as it really is set in a stunning location.
Finally and for us the best part of the whole stay was the food, this has to be up there with the best food we've tasted at any hotel we've stayed at, everything tasted fresh and full of flavor and made us look forward to the next meal even though we had just finished one(i know it makes us sound fat but it was honestly that nice)
We cant wait to stay here again in the future.

This was a relaxing short break with my wife and daughter. Despite the restrictions of Covid we had a great time. The staff were simply the best and seemed to be genuinely happy to help. The food was of a very good quality and the chance to meet other peoples dogs was an unexpected pleasure. The grounds are very pretty and well kept and the surrounding walks an villages well worth exploring.
We found nothing to fault really but I am sure others might. Our room was spacious and cool despite the heat wave and no aircon (Stone walls) it would have been nice if there was a box of tissues but this may have been a Covid precaution of course. I appreciated the novel way they discouraged the over use of toiletries and single use plastic bottle, again this would not suit everyone.
The location was great if you want time in the quiet countryside, If I had to pinpoint what made the stay special I think all three of use would staf the fantastic staff.

I visited Burleigh Court Hotel last week for Afternoon Tea with my Mother and my Auntie, as it was highly recommended by a friend.
This was the first time that my Mother and Auntie had been out for the day since before Lockdown and so they were both a little nervous at first, however any nerves were soon put at ease.
The Hotel is a hidden gem, easily located using sat nav. The car park is right infront of the Hotel and makes for great accessibility. We had booked over the telephone so the Hotel had our Name and contact details for track and trace.
We entered the Hotel to be greeted by one of the Managers who was extremely welcoming and friendly, he gave us the option of sitting inside (in the restaurant or in the lounge) or outside, we chose to eat inside the restaurant.
We were put in the care of one of the waitresses, who showed us to our table, all the while maintaining social distancing. Our waitress was very polite and accomodating. We were offered tea and coffee, which came aplenty. Then for the main event, the Afternoon Tea was brought out to us (The waitress wore white gloves throughout) and it looked so colourful and pretty! Sandwiches with various fillings, amazing homemade scones with cream and jam and gorgeous homemade cakes, all delicious! We couldn't fault it, and we also didn't manage to finish it. The waitress kindly provided a box to take the last of our cakes home with us. After the Tea we wanted to explore the Hotel and grounds and the Waitress told us where we could go to be able to see the gardens and recently re-tiled swimming pool. The Hotel's decor has been done so well, with its 1940's art deco style. Many detailed features and plenty of cute seating areas gave the Hotel a warm and cosy feel. The grounds were also stunning, with views over the Cotswolds and well kept gardens. The pool was unique and inviting, with again plenty of spaced out setting areas and hamocks to relax on.
Overall we had such a lovely day out! How we were dealt with by staff really helped reassure my family with feeling safe when visiting places again, and we will definitely be returning again soon on a more sunny day, when we can make the most of the grounds!

Wow! Absolutely amazing food and service. The main hotel has mostly been refurbished to a very high standard and beautiful. On first impression I would have given a rating of 3, clearly there is still more work to do on the grounds, but arriving after storm ciara it’s not surprising the outside looked like it needed a team of gardeners. But despite this, work on a dry stone wall was continuing clearly going to be beautiful and stunning in summer!
When we arrived we were walked to our coach house room, we were taken outside and around the hotel so felt along way a way, the Prosecco we had with our package for the room was being brought with us which was a little uncomfortable. The room was freezing and needed the 4 heaters in the room put on so we left to find a pub nearby while the room heated up. On return the room was lovely and warm but we had no hot water. This was resolved promptly. We felt as we had checked in at 15:00 (check in time) the room should have been prepared (heated and prosecco chilling) then would have felt more at ease.
Going for dinner we realised there was a much quicker way to the main hotel and couldn’t understand why we had been taken to our room the long way round when we arrived! From this point on the whole experience was quickly raised to 5 star! The fires and many candles had been lit, the service staff were amazing and the food the best around and matched other 5 star hotels we have been to. The breakfast was equally amazing!
This hotel is on the up and one to absolutely visit for the food. I’m sure the main hotel rooms have been upgraded and if we had had one of those the whole experience from start to finish would have been fantastic! My thoughts are this is a 3 star hotel, for that the room was fitting, in time, if the coach house rooms and whole environment is of the standard we experienced in the evening this hotel will quickly become a 5 star rating!
This hotel is open to non-residents and if looking for breakfast, afternoon tea, lunch or evening meal for very reasonable prices this place must be visited! I can’t wait to go back in the warmer months to enjoy the gardens and the view, with the amazing service and food!

We stayed for two nights at this First Class hotel which offers stunning views across the valley.
Room was spotless, very comfortable bed, tea making facilities, but thought a Nespresso machine or similar would have been provided.
Bathroom was small but functional.
Our main window enjoyed those fabulous views over the countryside.
We ate at the hotel's restaurant the first evening, but felt it was very overpriced, although excellent service.
I had a beef dish, but minute pieces of beautiful beef didn't justify the cost.
Breakfast was very good though, about a dozen choices, along with toast, cereals, fruit juice etc.. I chose a full English on my first morning, and avocado and poached eggs on toast for the second morning.
Sunday morning we were waited on by the fabulous Owana, how she serviced so many tables single handed I don't know, but she seemed to love it.
We spent a large part of both days enjoying the sunshine looking at the views from the wide range of seating options on the patio.
We would return to this hotel, but won't take our evening meals there.

I recently stayed at Burleigh Court and was very disappointed for the following reasons:
1. There were dead flowers in the vases in the reception and corridor
2. There were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling of our bedroom
3. The glass and frames of the windows in our room were dirty
4. There were dirty marks on the carpet and stool in our room
5. The information booklet stated that home made biscuits would be in our room. We had biscuits but they were obviously shop bought.
6. There was mould in the shower tray and on the ceiling of the shower.
7. There was very little space for sitting on the loo. My partner, who is 5ft 10ins, had to sit with his legs sideways, which was very uncomfortable.
8. The fan switch in the bathroom was placed so high that my partner could hardly manage to switch it on. I could not reach it.
9. There was very little body wash (insufficient to have a shower). I reported this to reception at 7.30 pm and was told it would be replaced whilst we were out. When we returned at 10.00 pm it had not been rectified, meaning I had to make a second request. I noticed that there was body lotion for sale in the reception, but this was not available to use in our room.
10. When we went to breakfast (approx 8.00 am), we noticed there were drinks and glasses left on tables on the terrace that had not been cleared from the previous evening.
11. The breakfast menu stated granola and fresh fruit were available. They were not. In fact the choice of cereals and yoghurts was very basic. Also the milk and yoghurt were not kept in an iced bowl. They were just left on the side which did not seem adequate, especially as the weather was so warm. We were surprised that they did not have a vegetarian option for the Full English. This is standard in most hotels. The toast was made from basic bread and was burnt. It was served flat on a plate, rather than on a rack.
The hotel website states that they have won an award for their breakfast. I would not agree, from my experience.
12. When we left the hotel on Saturday morning I handed the key to the receptionist. I did receive a ‘Thank you’, but nothing else. I would have thought that a few other words such as, ‘Thank you for staying with us’, ‘We hope you enjoyed your stay’, ‘We hope to see you again’, ‘What are your plans for today?’, ‘Enjoy the rest of your weekend’, ‘Have a safe journey home’, would have been nice.
I emailed the hotel management with this information. They gave a limp excuse of ‘COVID’ and new staff. How can COVID be responsible for poor quality food and a cramped, mouldy bathroom ?
We left the hotel feeling that they thought they didn’t need to bother, and we shall not be returning again. They are charging over-inflated prices for a sub-standard establishment.
Also to warn you that the road approaching the hotel has some bad pot holes which would be difficult to see in the dark

Stayed for two nights with husband and dog, so happy that we chose Burleigh Court. We had a room in the coach house, and it was huge! We had lots of room and lots of storage for our things, and although the bathroom does need an update it wasn't a problem as it was clean with lots of toiletries and big fluffy towels. There was a little bit of noise from the room above but not so intrusive that we couldn't relax.
We ate in the restaurant both nights, the first night opting for the chateaubriand which was delicious, on the second night we had duck and pork belly and they too were excellent, the chef is really on their game.
Breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts we've had, and we have to give special mention to the 'breakfast lady' who is so lovely, nothing was too much trouble. She's just what you need to start your day off well.
The hotel is a warren of lovely rooms with big squishy settees, areas to sit and relax, quirky decor, but above all really peaceful. If the weather is good enough to sit on the terrace you get amazing views across to Stroud. The gardens are extensive with nothing out of bounds, you can walk around the vegetable garden which they use for the restaurant id you want to, talk to the bees in their hives, go on the tree swing or just relax in one of the hammocks, bean bags or benches that are liberally dotted around.
The staff at the hotel are the friendliest we've come across for a very long time, all of whom had a 'yes of course' attitude, were smiley and happy, yet very professional at all times.
This really is a lovely place, albeit a work in progress in places, but we'll definitely be back, and we don't say that very often!!
We ate in the restaurant both nights, the first night opting for the chateaubriand which was delicious, on the second night we had duck and pork belly and they too were excellent, the chef is really on their game.
Breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts we've had, and we have to give special mention to the 'breakfast lady' who is so lovely, nothing was too much trouble. She's just what you need to start your day off well.
The hotel is a warren of lovely rooms with big squishy settees, areas to sit and relax, quirky decor, but above all really peaceful. If the weather is good enough to sit on the terrace you get amazing views across to Stroud. My friend and I stayed from 31st July until 3rd August. The location is great, the hotel and grounds are lovely and the views are stunning. However, there were a number of issues.
I didn’t take a photo but the extractor fan in the bathroom was filled with dust which came out in little clumps during the day. The room was nice apart from that.
On many occasions we waited for a long time to be served at the bar or outside because there are very few staff; we assumed the staffing problem is due to the current situation with Covid so we tried to be patient. Staff seemed to struggle to retain our drink orders and have poor communication amongst themselves. Different amounts are charged for the same drink, e.g Pimms was £5 then over £6.
The main problem we had was with staff automatically putting things on our room tab. My friend and I preferred pay as you go so we could keep an eye on what we were spending. I don’t have a problem with tabs, however they need to seriously think of how they use them at Burleigh Court. The staff are very nice but it’s not ok for them to put things on your tab and for them to still be there at checkout. Although the lady at checkout was helpful and sorted it out quickly, we had been given a bill of £149 for an afternoon tea and dinner that we had already paid for. They were obviously put on our room tab when we ordered them and somehow we had managed to pay for them but they were still on our room? How does this work when they cash up every night? We weren’t asked to show evidence and luckily we’d paid by card so could've brought up our online banking to prove it but what if we’d paid cash? We’d have had no way of proving that we paid for these things! The staff don’t ask whether you want to put things on your room and I understand that this is probably because most people prefer to pay at the end of their stay but what we experienced was not acceptable. I seriously suggest that you ask for a daily print out of what’s on your tab. I was a waitress for many years and I’m very understanding towards hospitality staff but when there are consistent small issues like these they become a big issue.
We had an afternoon tea on the day we arrived and dinner there that night. The afternoon tea was mostly dry, the one scone we had each was tiny and most things lacked flavour. Although, the hake that we had for dinner that evening was fantastic.
We had a great time in the Cotswolds and in spite of our problems would still recommend the hotel to others and give them the benefit of the doubt.

We had a lovely relaxing 2-night break here, enhanced by two of the hottest days of the year. Eating all of our meals on the terrace with lovely views was a real bonus, and a big shout out for the lovely breakfast waitress for whom nothing was too much. The Victorian plunge pool was a lovely way to cool off! The bed had been provided with a summer duvet (quite unusual in my experience), but the duvet cover was quite sufficient in the heat - old fashioned windows in our corner room allowed lots of ventilation and a good through draft. The windows have blinds and heavy curtains, so early morning sun was not a problem. So, a very good night's sleep.

This hotel overlooks Brimscombe and has lovely views of the countryside.
The staff are very pleasant and welcoming. The panelled dining room serves a good breakfast and the evening menu was excellent, with reasonably priced wine. We did not sample the afternoon tea but others clearly seemed to be enjoying them and the view
There is ample room to sit inside and out, providing a quiet environment.
The room, 10 Sycamore was comfortable and quiet.
The bathroom, however, was poor. The towel rail (electric but without timer) only heated the top quarter but I think this was because it was mounted with the heater element at the top!!!
The sink had individual taps, the hot water was certainly hot! The shower had no 40c safety stop and would spontaneously got from hot to cold. Part of the cold tap was missing. The fascia of the bath was decaying hardboard. The toilet cistern had an intermittent leak. The mirror with LED above did not make shaving easy but would be resolved by a backlit and heated mirror. All the above are easy to resolve but this bathroom needs a makeover. The management team, did list these problems when I spoke to them.
In summary this is a really nice hotel, with excellent dining, spoilt by its bathroom.

Dear Simon, thank you for your review. We always appreciate constructive feedback as this really helps us to improve guest experience and hosting well. Unfortunately we do not have a lift as this is a grade II listed building where we simply cannot make alterations. The bathroom has been attended to and will the completely redone in November. We hope to see you again soon and let us know that you would want a room on either the first floor or our coach house which has step-free rooms. All the best.

Hi, pool is not heated and is really more of a plunge pool. It’s in a very quite and relaxing area.
The staff are very helpful and I’m sure would help Where possible re yoga and bikes.

There was a mini fridge in our room which was in the old stables.
It is 40 minutes by car from Cheltenham, and it is a beautiful countryside drive - we saw Painswick on the way there.
The nearest village is Minchinhampton - 7 min walk up the hill, but if you have a car then Nailsworth and Stroudn are 5 minutes away, and CIrencester and Tewksbury 15minutes
Don’t know we did not go upstairs, but doubtful, as it a Cotswold period property.
