My stay at the Westin Tashee Resort was an absolute (but wonderful) unplanned accident. I was passing through Taiwan for a day (bound for the USA) and I needed a hotel last night and essentially NOTHING was available in Taipei (and literally NOTHING as it was a Saturday night) with rare exception, but the Westin was. So I reluctantly booked it even though it wasn't anywhere close to downtown Taipei, where I wanted to be. Leaving from the airport, TWO Uber's cancelled as they didn't want to go there. Finally, an Uber agreed to take me and the rest of the day turned into a wonderful experience. First, the drive from the airport was great....leaving behind the world of tall ugly office and residential buildings and industrial areas we drove out past New Taipei City (and the Sanxia historical district which I now want to visit but sadly only drove by) and ended up moving more into the well forested country with wonderful two story buildings that was the complete opposite of downtown---where I was intending to stay. Driving on a small road into the town of Taoyuan (which felt like I had gone out into the country--which I had) we came across the Westin Tashee Resort (just 40 minutes from the airport and a $40ish USD dollar drive) , which was like a magical enormous vacation hotel mirage in the middle of nowhere. I suppose it caters to families (LOTS of kid activities) and perhaps conventions, but it was huge, fresh and new. My room had a beautiful mountain view and was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. There was a beautiful large pool an outdoor bar that serve a happy hour after 8PM (until 9:30 PM), that was packed. The most excellent dinner buffet had two servings (like a cruise ship), but there was also a Chinese Restaurant, a lobby bar with a large menu, a deli of some sort, etc. I had intended to go into downtown Taiwan that evening but I was so comfortable at the hotel I didn't want to leave. If I played golf the golf course looked wonderful. And the pool looked great too. And the breakfast buffet was great. So...it was definitely a wonderful and unplanned pleasure and memorable stay and by far made for a better night than what I had originally planned. And the hotel is spotless, fresh, and the staff was wonderful. So it was a very happy "accident" that I can highly recommend.

We went to this hotel to attend a wedding. The general layout of the hotel and the decor are very nice! The thing which we enjoyed most is the outstanding service all around! We are so impressed with the very high standard and very warm service of the entire staff! This is truly an unforgettable experience! Thank you so much!!!

As the third visit of this property (previous times were pre-pandemic), we were pleasantly surprised at the significant upgrades across property recreational venues and service quality. It is no wonder after finding out that the current GM used to run Mandarin Oriental Taipei! Every staff engaged with us with warm grace and proactive listening. Mom was escorted to the Bonvoy lounge while I was waiting for checkin (without prompt!) and taken care of with utmost respect. Special kudos to Ting whose million dollar smile always brightened up our day and meticulously took care of us from taxi to Tashee Old Street to offering advice on what fun activities we should partake in. Swimming pool ambiance was zen yet fun, transporting us to a remote resort Mexico! Breakfast buffet was an international abundance and an epicurean’s dream. We will definitely be back again!

I have been a Marriott Ambassador elite member for many years and have stayed at more than 200 Marriott hotels. Yet, this is probably one of the worst Marriot hotels I have stayed in. The staff is extremely rude and unwelcoming. The management team is very arrogant and hostile towards guests. The service level of the hotel has declined so much. I would strongly recommend everyone not to stay there.

Positives: Beautiful environment, including outdoor spaces, indoor public areas, room décor. Comfortable bed, fruit bowl in the room, free on-demand movies and water and juice in the minibar. Food was tasty. Service was generally good. Outdoor pool was beautiful, though the water was very cold. Indoor pool was heated and comfortable. Lots of kid activities, very kid-friendly environment. Annoyances: Closing each pool for a full hour in the middle of the day, outdoors from 12-1 and indoors from 1-2. It makes no sense to do required "cleaning" during the most popular time to use the pools. Why not at 5pm? Also, although there is a pool bar for happy hour, they do not serve food or even cans of soda at any other time. So not only were we told to leave the pool, we couldn't have lunch outside either. We had to dry off and change to have lunch in the lobby bar (the only lunch option). Unacceptable: We were harassed by one of the indoor pool staff. We were the only non-Asian guests in the pool, and from the very start this staff member made it clear we were not welcome. He asked repeatedly whether we had checked out (no), when we were checking out (next day), were we sure, etc. He then started constantly reminding us we had 20 minutes until the pool closed, 15 minutes, 10 minutes, etc. He was not saying this to anyone else in the pool. We got out of the pool 5 minutes before closing and dried off, then turned to pick up our bags from the sun loungers on the side of the pool. He was standing right next to us, watching as we dried off, and he said "where are you going?" in a demanding tone when we turned to the chairs. I felt very, very unwelcome and embarrassed. None of the other people in the pool were talked to in this way. I was shocked to be treated this way by a staff member at a major international hotel chain. I paid the very high room rate to relax and enjoy a pleasant environment, and instead I was monitored and lectured as if I had done something wrong.

I was impressed by the services provided by the Guest Service Manager Mr. Isaac Hung. He made my stay became more enjoyable when there was a little arguement about the coffee capsules, he dropped in with more capsules to my room some minutes after my complain. I certainly will come again when I visit this town and more than happy to recommend this hotel to my friends.

1st time taking the family on a vacation since April, was a bit skeptical on the overall experience before the trip amid Covid. During my 3 day stay, I am super impressed on how organized and prepared the Westin staff are. From check-in, pool, kids playground, breakfast buffet, safety measures are well implemented. The overall hotel facility is top notch. Congrats to the Westin management team for making my experience a pleasant one. You guys rock!

Came here with my husband on a staycation to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Who knew such a luxurious and wonderful resort was just a stone's throw away from Taipei! We stayed in the spa suite. I had the best sleep in ages on the amazing bed, and the pillow was the most comfortable one I've come across in forever. Food in all the restaurants were great, service was fantastic, and both the indoor and outdoor pools just dreamy. This is probably the only place in all of Taiwan where you can swim without a swimming cap, and it's worth visiting just for that. Absolutely fantastic.
