Arrived early this morning, way too early even for early check-in. The very helpful and friendly staff graciously took my luggage in for safekeeping and gladly helped me find my way
to Beitou for a relaxing Hot Springs experience. Upon checkin, I was delighted to see an immaculate, pristine room with a nice view of the mountainside and in-room snacks, including fresh fruit, drinks & thoughtful amenities provided gratis. I chose this hotel because of its tranquil location and proximity to the National Palace Museum, not knowing that the accommodating staff & service provided can stand on their own, as well. I’m sorry I’ve had to cut off my stay because if scheduling conflicts.

My daughter and I did our mandatory 8 night quarantine here. The room was spacious with a huge window. During the day there was plenty of light in the room which was nice. The bathroom was also big with a huge tub. The hotel provided tons of amenities- complimentary water, snacks, soda, etc. Comforter and pillow were super plush. Room temperature couldn’t be adjusted but our room was quite cool even though the outdoor temperature was high. We were provided three meals a day. These meals were always delivered on time and portions were super generous. Hotel staff went out of their way to meet our needs. They were helpful and courteous. Overall, this is an excellent hotel. I’m glad we completed our quarantine here.

This is a lovely hotel in a good location. It is within easy walking distance to the National Palace Museum in Taipei.
The staff was very helpful- in arranging transportation to and from the airport and taxi to restaurant and in storing luggage for us.
They are really nice people.
Our room was well appointed, the bed was very comfortable and we both had a restful sleep.
The price was reasonable.

Stayed in a single king room facing away from the road. Beautiful views out to the forest. No noise at all, a nice serene break from the norm for Taipei hotels.

Room and bathroom were both large and well appointed. Free minibar was a nice perk - and reloaded daily (Sprite, coke, water, chips, granola bars and fruit).

The hotel is out of the way, but there is a bus stop right out front to get to the MRT, plus a great riverside park that snakes into the city.

Breakfast is well presented, but served from the same menu each day. Chinese menu and western menu available.

Western breakfast consisted of salad starter with nuts and dried fruit, Egg cooked to order (including great omelette), sausage or bacon, french toast or pancakes plus a few potatoes and a piece of broccoli.

The biggest complaint about the hotel was the creepy lack of people. I only saw 2 or 3 other guests during the week (Weekend was a bit busier)

Very well appointed rooms, top marks for design (elegant zen-style). Good for those who appreciate privacy, and quiet surroundings. Very clean rooms! Although it is not near the MRT, it is walking distance from the National Palace Museum. Taxis are available - front desk can call. Staff are helpful and polite.

Seeing how the others gave rave reviews about this hotel, I really hope this won't bring their scores down too much.
There is no doubts about their service standards, their priority is the guests and if you are one who deeply values that, please stay with them. A staff send us up to our room and orientated us to their facilities and all. Before I went, I enquired about Yang Ming San and they printed out details for me on it! It was a pleasant little surprise. The room was spacious and there were sufficient TV movie channels, laundry facilities, news papers (in Chinese though) and free munchies and fruits replenish on a daily basis. Design of the hotel was somewhat Japanese and Chinese modern interiors, simple and clean cuts.
I booked this hotel cos I really want to access Yang Min San and National Palace Museum easily. It's within walking distance to Palace Museum and to get to Shilin Night Market, just take R30, 小18/小19 bus, takes about 20-30 mins ride. Anywhere you want to go to, just ask the staff and they are ever ready to provide you with help.
What fell short for me is that there is absolutely nothing else near by except for a Family Mart and Fire Station. To get some proper food, the Family Mart is the ONLY choice, which posed some inconvenience in rainy weather and the options are so limited. I wanted to order food to the room, but dinner order was closed at 4:30 pm. I really regretted not eating at the Museum before heading back. There was so few people around to make the place lively. At the breakfast venue, I have only seen 1 other guest. So breakfast fare was pleasant on the first day, but when the menu was exactly the same with limited option (3 options exactly, and there are repeating stuff between the options) ... it became boring, though service was still high.
To make up for the short fall, I suggest providing transport service to the metro and night market will be a draw, even a bus ride to the Yang Ming Shan will be so much looked forward to. They should think of more ways to pull in the crowd to a building so big and quiet. The lobby is at lvl 3 instead of 1. So when I first enter the hotel, I really thought I went to the wrong building. There was absolutely no one in sight and the feeling was cold and awkward. It's important to enter the hotel feeling welcomed and inviting upon entering. I valued the tranquility of the hotel, but when it's so quiet, the feel becomes eerie and uninviting.

I'm quite surprise to see why this is not in the top list. The hotel is so cozy that we don't want to leave the place. Room is super clean and tidy. People here are helpful and friendly. The location is not really secluded, but it feels like it is. Pretty peaceful place. It takes around 3 - 5 min by bus from Shihlin Station. The shuttle bus here are frequent, it is convenient for us to travel around. The only drawback is that if you want to travel around Taipei City for few days, you might need at least 30 min (including taking shuttle bus and on train) to get to your destination, but I really don't mind. :) If you stay here, I suggest that you must go to Shihlin night market & Yang Ming Shan National Park for sunrise/ sunset.

Our son stayed there for several nights last week and totally loved his experience. The staff were amazing and his room was very clean and comfortable for only $136 a night. It is a long walk to the train (20 minutes) but very close to the best museums. Our son went to downtown Taipei easily.

He highly recommends this hotel because the location is so beautiful and tranquil from the hustle and bustle of downtown Taipei.

We had a great time staying in Yusense. It is not near the center of the city but easy to get to (a 10-minute taxi ride from the Shilin subway station); it is only a 5-minute-walk to the National Palace Museum. The hotel itself is new, less than a year ago. We were amazed by the friendly staff in the hotel - the front desk staff the restaurant staff were professional and cordial. The deluxe room was spacious; the wooden furniture was of high quality; and the bed was comfortable. The fine china in the room was comparable to what you would find in a five-star hotel. To top it off, the bathroom was functional and decorated with very high quality material. By the way, the room door was the heaviest we've ever found in any hotel we stayed in around the world.
While the room was functional, it would be even better if some framed arts or posters (e.g. posters from National Palace Museum) are added to the room.
The free breakfast was delicious. There were three choices - "western", "Chinese", and "vegetarian". Again, it was served with very high quality china and utensils.
Overall, we think Yusense was a great bargain for the price we paid. We'll definitely stay in the hotel again in our next visit to Taipei.

Staff could not be more polite, we were greeted by each and every staff we met. A male staff even bowed to us after sending us into the lift.
Everything at the mini bar was free and I do mean EVERYTHING.
The hotel offers three different breakfast sets, not to be compared with the variations you get at a breakfast buffet in five-star hotel, yet the dishes are nicely cooked and served warmed upon your order, and in large portions too. There is also a buffet table with very fresh fruit, crispy salad and some dim sum.
If you plan to book this hotel, be sure to know that it is not right next to any MRT station, however there are several buses that run between the hotel and Shilin MRT station (takes 5-7 minutes only), so in a way it is a serene getaway from Taipei's hustle and bustle. Or, you can take the taxi, costs roughly $90-120, still pretty cheap. Right opposite to the hotel is a 24hr convenience store (Family Mart). Very near to the National Palace Museum and the Former Home of President Chiang.
The only little flaw that I hate to point out is, because the staff pays so much attention to details, they actually didn't turn on the air-con in rooms because the didn't want us to feel freezing. It was really rather warm and stuffy in the room, in fact too warm to wear long-sleeve (it was 12 degree C outside), so we asked if they could make it cooler. A staff answered very politely that the air-con was not on, only the ventilation.
I still rate the hotel 5/5 because the same thing might not apply to other rooms and we opened the window eventually. Hey we are from Hong Kong, maybe we are just too used to the ubiquitous chilly air-con.

I stayed there last summer, 2022 and I paid the set rate imposed by the government which was 1000 nt. I’m not sure what it would be now but my guess would be 1200-1400 nt.
