Really enjoyed staying here! Service, room, facilities, entertainment and food were all first class! The Taroko tours were well conducted and we learnt much about the place from the fun-loving guide. Evening entertainment like campfire concerts, outdoor aborigine dance performanc

This architecture of this hotel is amazing - as if built into the Taroko gorge itself. We attended a free evening local band playing on their rooftop and the setting was unbelievable, sitting overlooking the gorge. Unfortunately, we only stayed here for one night as part of a t

A beautiful zen mountain retreat for nature lovers.. spacious, luxurious rooms. One of the best buffet spreads with healthy gourmet dishes. The spa was super, everything smelled so good. Very kids friendly - with a rubber duckie kids pool, fun games and play room, kids toiletries

If you are staying at the hotel and dinner is not included in your rate, do you have to book ahead for dinner or can you just show up?
Suggest you reserve the seats first, otherwise you might not have your favorite timing for dinner and restaurant. Two dinner time, one is 17:30-19:10 and another one is 19:30-21:30. There is 20 minutes to clean the area in between.

Can I know how long is the Journey from the train station to the Silk Place hotel Taroko? Will the journey be bumpy and cause motion sickness? I have heard many of my friends saying about the journey to Taroko is bumpy. Can the hotel buy train tix for us?
It's less than an hour, around 40 mins. I personally think it's not too bumpy but I guess it depends. You can request hotel for pick up but not sure if they will buy ticket for you or not.

The Honeymoon Studio rooms do not appear to specify "Garden" or "Gorge" view like most of the other room options. Which way do the windows in these rooms face?
As far as I can tell from photos online, the Honeymoon Studio does face to the outside (not to the inner court), but I don't think you can see much of the gorge, just trees close up. If the view is very important to you, choose The River View Suite.

We plan to stay at Silks Place in late March/early April and have a few questions. 1) What is the weather like during that time? 2) What is the best way to travel to hotel from Taipei? Train? Which one? (We are 2 adults/2 teenagers.) 3) If interested in taking the gorge tours, how early should we book them? Thanks.
1)March is spring season. Stable weather, not cold not hot. It’s a great time to go hiking. 2)You can take train or flight from Taipei to Hualien. If you like to see more about eastern of Taiwan, I suggest you take train to Hualien, beautiful!!!! 3) The hotel offers scheduled pick up service US$16 per person for return, and half day tour $16 per person. Please book your tour 1-2 days in advance.
