Have you ever dreamed of experiencing life in a Mediaeval Irish castle in all its glory? Surrounded by horses, musicians, dogs, feasting, artists and wonderful thought-provoking stimulating conversation? If this is you then you must stay at Ballaghmore Castle. This is not a hotel, but a way of life. Not, perhaps, for tourists who like the sanitised cleanliness and ersatz...

As a Fitzpatrick descendant I looked forward to visiting the area of my ancestors. It was not a disappointment. We had a delightful and enlightening visit. We slept well, had delicious breakfasts and our host, Grace, was very knowledgeable about the history of the area. It was a delightful visit.

I stopped by the castle to enquire about bringing tourist groups to tour the castle, as I am involved in the tourism industry. When I arrived the owner was not at home so I waited. Within a few minutes she arrived back and without any apparent reason and before i could explain my reason for being there she launched a...

Three families together stayed a week at Ballaghmore and it was a high point of my life, seriously. Grace and her family could not have been more hospitable and the castle is amazing. It's very simple but quite adequate in the amenities, as they wanted to keep it as quaint and historic as possible. The grounds are beautiful. Loved it!

A group of us recently spent the weekend at Ballaghmore Castle for a stag party. It was truly fantastic. We felt like we were transported back in time as we all sat in the incredible banquette hall in front of the fireplace. Originally we had planned to leave the castle to visit the nearby town but we could not bring...

There are castle hotels and then there is Ballaghmore Castle. Our family of seven were amazed, delighted and spellbound when we first walked through the door of the castle and into the past. The exterior and interior of the structure lived up to the numerous pictures we previewed. Our grandchildren will remember forever eating in the banquet hall, sitting by the fireplaces and...

We recently hosted a hen party in Ballaghmore castle. It was such a novelty to stay in an authentic castle that has been restored. Stone staircases, heavy wooden doors and Gothic arches were some of the wonderful features of the castle. The views from the roof over five county's was amazing. The grand banqueting hall is very atmospheric with lanterns...
