Having read about The Old Convent in an article about foodie breaks I knew it was somewhere we would enjoy. We decided to spend our wedding anniversary here as a treat and from the moment we arrived it was a chilled out experience. The property is beautifully preserved and decorated. We enjoyed tea in the drawing room during the day... More

We go here whenever we need to escape the hustle and bustle of life. Peace and relaxation abound and Dermot Gannon's food is excellent. Christine runs a wonderful house and there is walking on the doorstep, with plenty of visitor attractions

First visit to the Old Convent, beautiful house, warmly welcomed and an efficient check in and orientation. Rooms were beautifully decorated and very comfortable, we loved visiting their sitting room for tea and cupcakes in the afternoon and met with other guests. Upstairs a little 'Aladdins Cave' contained everything your might need for a relaxing stay, books, DVD's and players,... More

We are still in the room and I just couldn't wait to write this review. The Old Convent is just outstanding. Great location, the best food and lovely rooms. The staff are so friendly. The 8 course tasting menu was delicious. Good fresh food. My worry was that it would be overly pretentious but it was far from that. Well... More

We absolutely LOVED this place. From the minute we walked in the door we fell in love with the charm and feel of this once functional Convent. We were greeted with tea/coffee service (cupcakes too!) and given a tour of the spaces. Wonderful touches like a Kitchen for all the guest to use which had chilled water/tea/coffee & snacks. Our... The Old Convent met all of our expectations, over and abundantly! The bed, the room, the huge tub. It was nothing short of spectacular! The owner and hostess, Christine, was kind, sweet, adorable and accommodating. Her husband, the chef, served an 8-course meal that was fit for a king....or a really nice nun! The grounds are beautiful too. If you... More

My husband and I went here in October and I just booked again for next month. We stayed in the Loft last time, which was a lovely, spacious room with gorgeous views of the mountains. But if you've been to the "OC," it goes without saying that the 8 course tasting menu is by far the highlight of the experience... More

This was our 4th or 5th time eating here - it gets better every time. The menu is just perfect and the whole evening is such a wonderfully relaxing experience. Christine and the staff are so welcoming. It is one of my favourite places for a treat.

Glasha is very well signposted from the main road and if you miss the first turn don't worry you can just take the next one. Glasha is a beautifully maintained farmhouse surrounded by lush dairy land and the Comeragh mountains. We were warmly greeted by our host Olive O' Gorman on arrival, and shown to our room with jacuzzi bath.... More

Having been here in March 2015, decided to return for my wife's birthday this year. Stayed in The Professor's Suite this time. A lovely atmospheric bedroom with a four poster bed and an adjoining sitting room. Nice cosy shower room ensuite too. Food for both dinner and breakfast was excellent. We opted for the wine flight - basically 4 wines... More
