Went on what we thought would be a luxury overnight to Kilmokea House and felt really swizzed by it. We decided to have the evening dinner, which is a three course meal for €50 each. I am vegetarian, so will describe my meal. Main course was a butternut squash, in fact half a roasted butternut squash on a plate. Most...

We'd a great time in the coachhouse for the weekend. We arrived with 4 couples, 1 8 year old, and 3 toddlers so a full house. We'd left ourselves short of rooms but Emma and Mark accommodated us at short notice. Very authentic and homely rooms. We'd a fantastic stay, great pool (lovely and warm, a good size) tennis courts....

We went to Kilmokea to celebrate my parents 70th birthdays. People attending ranged in age from 1 to 70. The owners are very welcoming and flexible. The gardens, which are incredibly creative, offer something for both children and adults, with child friendly features including a fairy grove, a Viking logboat and a carved dragon. The house features a well heated...

This is a lovely Irish Country House close to the town of New Ross. The gardens of the house were amazing. The room was superb with a four poster bed and roll top bath alongside. Good linens and towels and spotlessly clean. It was very quite when we arrived and there was only one other couple in the dining room...

Emma and staff very friendly and welcoming. Beautiful gardens and fairy wood so great for children. Has a pool which is a great bonus. Stayed in adjoining stables very atmospheric. Had breakfast in the garden conservatory which was a great start to the day. Dinner was tasty and in the main house and opera music playing in the background adds...

Travelled here for a one night weekend stay. Found it incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived. As there had been a cancellation, we were upgraded to a larger room with stunning decor - something from a movie! Would highly recommend it! Many thanks to Mark and Emma

We enjoyed 4 nights at your charming country house. We enjoyed the peace and tranquility of it all, especially the beautiful gardens and woods, only disturbed occasionally by Peter the peacock! Good luck to you both in the future.

We stayed for three nights in late summer 2015. The ambience is charming . Service is appropriately discreet yet available and warm. A lovely place to relax for a few days . The pool was an asset and the evolving garden is a delightful place to potter.

Lovely house and gardens. Rooms retro but that's part of the charm. Excellent organic dinner created by our hosts. Had a completely relaxing aromatherapy treatment with Emma before checkout. Only small gripe is the €10 charge to use the jacuzzi in the spa, have never encountered this before! However all in all a very enjoyable stay.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
When you arrive at Kilmokea, your energetic young hosts will feed you with enthusiasm, beauty and home grown food in their fine house and fabulous gardens. With its heritage gardens and long history, Mark and Emma could not be more gracious, welcoming and so very helpful. The Kilmokea experience includes a cosy up by the log fire and savour a delicacy of sweet treats with Afternoon Tea on arrival. Indulge in a leisurely swim in the indoor heated pool open from April to September Awake each morning to a deliciously fresh breakfast and make the most of the magnificent gardens that span seven acres of stunning woodland where peacocks strut by the Italian loggia, paths and bridges leading past a trout lake and you can watch coastal birds swoop over the estuary. As well as a Jacuzzi & sauna, there is a gym & tennis court for those looking to keep active. Bedrooms in the main house are in relaxed good taste: thick carpets, lovely beds, smart antiques, delicate fabrics to match their floral names. The rooms in the converted courtyard suite are simpler but just as inviting. Our self catering options are available all year around and our outdoor leisure facilities remain open for our guests to enjoy. We welcome you one and all to this remarkable oasis. ... more   less
