La Souqueto, a Tripadvisor 'Travellers Choice' award winning B&B, has received over 240 5* reviews. Our authentic, boutique B&B is a restored town house and sits in the centre of a thriving, medieval village in the heart of the Languedoc, Occitanie. Amenities include a village shop and highly rated small restaurant. One can walk or cycle out from our back door down an avenue of Playne trees to the stunning Canal du Midi. The gin clear waters of the River Cesse are a stones throw from the house too. Carcassonne and Beziers airports are just 50 minutes away and our region boasts over 5 airports including Toulouse, Montpeliers, Perpignan and Girona. Our B&B accommodates up to 6 people in 3 rooms and our self catering apartment (sleeps 4) with sun terrace is the perfect place to enjoy an extended Spring, Summer or Winter holiday. The quiet, stunning beaches on The Med are just 40 minutes from the back door. We are surrounded by vineyards and wine Caves for tastings and we also organise 'long weekends of wine' tours throughout the year. If it's food you have come to sample, we can recommend the very best places from Michelin stars to wonderful local family restaurants. Our village car park (a few seconds from our B&B) offers FREE parking.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

From the moment we arrived at this beautiful B&B we were made to feel really welcome and at home. Jon and Mel are wonderful hosts - recommending lovely restaurants and information regarding the local area They couldn’t do enough for us. The accommodation is lovely with obvious attention to detail. Breakfasts were delicious (especially the scrambled eggs). The village is lovely and peaceful with a well stocked local shop and the restaurant serves fantastic food. There is a lovely walk down to the canal. Highly recommend and will definitely try to return.

Jon and Mel were the perfect hosts for our week exploring the region from the comfort of the apartment at La Souqueto. Very chilled and lots to explore, based on their extensive local knowledge. A week is not enough, wish we could have stayed longer.

Mel and Jon’s attention to detail was perfect. From the minute we arrived we felt at home and comfortable. If it could be done they found a way to make it happen. The town was delightful and full of older homes some rehabbed and some very rustic. Close to many other towns including Narbonne.

We stayed a week in La Souqueto’s Tastefully styled apartment. Jon & Mel are such lovely hosts. They recommended some lovely restaurants and gave us some valuable information on the local area. We also spent time on Bella Mia their beautiful classic boat- on the canal-du-midi which Is a must do! To experience the canal du midi- and it’s pretty canal side villages. We will definitely be returning! Mark & Maura

This was our 4th stay at La Souqueto and there is a reason we keep coming back. This time we brought along my sister and her husband who didn’t understand why we keep coming back to the same place.....until they stayed there and now also want to return! By now it feels like a second home, being welcomed by Jon and Melanie who are the kind and gracious hosts of the chambre d’hotes. They always make our stay so comfortable. One of them is always in the dining room with a beautiful breakfast table set with delicious breads and croissants of course, jams, yogurt with granola, and fresh fruits. We enjoy our breakfast conversations so much that it’s hard to push away from the table. However, Jon and Mel will have some interesting site or walk suggestion and we go out and explore. This stay they offered dinner service as it was a Monday and off season, limiting our restaurant options. Their dinners with wine were excellent with the butternut squash soup and duck breast being a real stand out. We always sleep well here with comfortable beds and pretty rooms. Bathrooms are bright and roomy with soft bath sheet size towels on heated towel racks and a much appreciated full size hairdryer. The website is an accurate portrayal. My sister stayed in the newly remodeled apartment and they agreed they could make it a home base for a longer stay. So many things to do in the area from outdoor walks and ancient sites, to market villages, to bigger cities like Carcassonne, Narbonne and Beziers, and of course the Mediterranean. Looking forward to our next stay, as much for Jon and Mel as the Languedoc! Thank you Jon and Mel for your hospitality!

We stayed 2 nights with boating expedition on the Canal du Midi both days. My mother, daughter and I could not have been more pleased with both our accommodations and the high point: a tour on the hotel’s beauty of a boat. My mother is 91 and not as agile as she’d like- so this was perfect. We enjoyed perfect hosts and tasteful and homey surroundings, lovely lunches at canal side restaurants

Jon and Mel are great hosts. The room was comfortable and beautiful and the breakfasts were great. My husband and I arrived with no set itinerary and Jon and Mel pointed us in a great direction each morning. They highlighted the best places to go on rainy days so we were never stuck for somewhere to wander because of the weather. Because of their expertise, we saw beautiful sights and ate wonderful food at restaurants we never would have found on our own. Thank you Jon and Mel, we can't wait to visit you again!
