Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had booked to stay at the Poldark Inn based on value and location, we wanted to be in Trebarwith Strand during the day.
The Poldark inn was a simple but welcoming place when we arrived, a kind host behind the bar gave us our key to the room and explained a few things. A pleasant stay in a comfy bed, complimented by good breakfast in the morning.
Would happily come back here.
It served its purpose for us.
Thank you.

We have just returned from a much-needed break in Cornwall and are so pleased that we picked the Poldark Inn as our base. Not knowing what to expect (post-lockdown) we were greeted warmly and immediately made to feel welcome on arrival.
Guest and staff safety were obviously prioritised and the measures taken to ensure this were clear - whilst leaving a comfortable and friendly environment in which to dine, drink or just relax.
Our room was clean, spacious and ideal for our needs. The food was to die for and very reasonably priced (even without the EOHO discounts).
Adrian, Tracey and Ryan (and their staff) were a joy to meet and to spend time with.

We will certainly visit again when we next venture to Cornwall.

We felt safe in the warm, spacious accommodation and in the bar/restaurant areas. Adrian was very attentive and friendly regardless of whether we ate a full meal, snack of "proper cheesy chips" or just had a few drinks. He and his family clearly work hard to keep things running smoothly in difficult covid times.
The open fire added to the relaxed atmosphere of this old style traditional pub bar area.
The basic accommodation could be regarded as dated. but the warm, clean, well equipped, beautifully tranquil, apartment with its easy parking made for a very enjoyable, comfy value- for-money three night stay.

Excellent stay!!
We had a few nights away for our mini moon!
We were welcomed warmly, our room was clean, comfortable, had all that we needed without having to ask, services provided were explained via instructions within the room which we could read at our leisure..
It was quiet in our room, the room was spacious and perfectly serviceable for our needs.
The Poldark Inn made a great base for us to our in either direction too!
The food from the restaurant was great quality, piping hot, fab portion sizes too!
The beer was cold, reasonably priced and the company within the bar was awesome!
We had a fabulous time and really couldn’t fault anything about our stay!
Thankyou so much to everyone for your efforts, it certainly wasn’t unnoticed..
we will be back!

Friendly welcome, Very clean room and amenities. The bathroom was really good with a power shower or bath if you want it. The food was really nice, the chips were homemade and not frozen like most places. Very dog friendly. The breakfast was excellent, with a quality sausage and bacon rashers and a pot of fresh coffee. Would definitely be happy to recommended for the price.

Very restful and enjoyable stay for 3 adults and a dog. The apartment was roomy, well equipped and spotless. The bed and bedding was top notch, and we all had the best sleeps.
Tracey and Adrian obviously take great pride in catering for the locals and holiday makers alike and everyone could not have been more helpful and friendly. It was great to be able to go into the pub at the end of a busy day exploring, for a pint or 2 of their well kept beer ( and cider ) and a tasty meal. The food was homecooked, hot and plentiful. Probably the best home made chips I had every eaten
Can highly recommend - we will be back !!

Lovely location but needs some work . The owner was lovely and helped us when he could . I don’t want to go on about things in this day and age that don’t matter but to point out that nothing was in the room on an extremely hot day made it unbearable . The owner had said that it’s normally very cool there which is good but on the day we arrived it was 33• and with a room facing the sun the room was like a furnace , I had to message the owner for a fan which he did bring over for us but tbh I shouldn’t have to ask in the first place . We left early in the morning and didn’t stay for breakfast ,. The hotel is very tired in most places it’s very clean but needs some updating . It’s like stepping back in time which is lovely but it’s not for me . The bedding and bedroom furniture were all very tired .

Very comfortable room in the main building. Spacious and very clean. Hosts and staff all extremely friendly and helpful. Ideally situated to explore this beautiful part of the country. Despite being accommodated in the pub it was very quiet and peaceful. Food all home cooked with very generous portions. All in all highly enjoyable.

Stayed here for just one night in Sept and had evening meal and breakfast. The stay was pleasant enough and the staff were friendly, but the place seems to be stuck in the 70s, which incidentally is the average age of the guests. The postage stamp sized television in our room gave us a good chuckle, but the bathroom mirror made up for it by having an integral clock and thermometer! The room was clean enough, although we did find an empty hula hoops packet underneath one of the bedside cabinets. Perhaps that had been there since the 70s as well. Evening meal was ok, but nothing special as was breakfast. Would we stay again? Probably not.
