Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The pub itself is full of character, warm and welcoming! I just wanted to say thank you so much for going the extra mile with my dietary requirements for our party on Friday evening! The food and service were amazing and definitely started our Christmas Season with a bang!

A beautiful coaching inn with tasteful, in keeping en-suite bedroom with a touch of elegance. Lovely to have a cushioned window seat, an extra furry throw if needed, wicker baskets on the bed holding fluffy white towels, environmentally friendly, quality toiletries in the bathroom (full to leave, not take away sizes), fresh milk and water in the fridge. Not a large room, but cosy and comfortable with floorboards slightly warped with age. The mattress didn’t suit either of us well, but that was probably just us. Excellent breakfast pre-ordered for a set time, from a good choice, but a breakfast basket option offered if you wanted a lie in past 9 am (weekdays). Big choice of lunch and dinner items. Superb Ploughman’s Platter at lunch with dill pickles and piccalilli so good we wish we’d asked the make. A lovely treat to get liver and onions in the evening, rarely seen on menus these days. A very relaxing ambiance in the oak beamed restaurant and lovely, helpful, staff.

Excellent traditional English pub in the middle of the countryside. Great staff, really friendly, friendly locals and great food. Rooms are clean, spacious, warm and comfortable. If I'm down this way on business, it has become my go to hotel and restaurant.

My husband and I came here for a meal during our stay in Dorsey and had the most amazing dinner. The menu was full of amazing dishes it took us ages to decide what to eat. I am sure whatever we chose would have been brilliant but the Katsu Curry and the Pie were what we went with in the end. Thoroughly recommend for a fabulous quality meal!

Six of us stayed for one night in August. We all found our rooms to be comfortable and well-equipped. The food was very good and there was an excellent pub atmosphere. Staff were friendly, helpful and courteous. Our experience would indicate that he Crown is a reliable, no-fault choice for a place to stay and/or dine.

The team here are fantastic, I stayed for a week business trip in nearby Gillingham and was pleasantly surprised to find the team here are lovely, the room was great and the food even better! I was working from 6:30 in the morning and wasn’t able to attend breakfast so the team prepared lunch for me instead throughout the week and they actually had this ready for me outside my door every morning without me even asking more than the first time! Please give the whole team a thank you from me!

Really enjoyed the food at The Crown. The menu is very expansive and all cooked well with the option to change things around. The service was casual and good with some friendly conversation. I would recommend trying the pies which were really good.
