My dad and I were warmly welcomed in the village and were able to join this little paradise for about a week. I have such warm memories of our stay. Freshy made breakfasts in the morning served by forever smiling faces. Delicious buffet dinner at night and so many moments shared with the team.
The chalets are beautifully built, spacious and comfortable. The outdoor shower and the hammock were my favorite spots. The crew went out of their way to make sure we had everything we may need. They could even arrange a driver at pretty much anytime of the day for us to go around.
The kite lessons were great. I received all the personal attention I needed and always felt safe. The shack on the kite spot is perfect to chill and relax and delicious lunch is provided everyday!
A really nice boat trip and fish barbecue was organised for us on a not so windy day, they really made sure we enjoyed every single bit of our stay. Loved the capoeira classes in the morning and to watch the sunset from the margarita bar after a day of kiting.
The vibe, the people, the place, it was everything we could have hoped for.
Thanks so much to Ruben and the team for creating this place and having hosted us like family! I can't wait to come again!

One year ago, I had one of the most beautiful vacations. Everyone was so nice and always made me smile, which was really easy in this atmosphere of chilled people doing what they love. The kite lessons where really good and fun, with a teacher who always kept pushing me to do better, while having patience and understanding of the challenges of a sometimes gusty wind and an exhausted body.
Their trips to near islands were nice and if you have the level to go there do it, definitely a big recommendation.
The bungalows where minimal and beautiful, the outdoor shower was a highlight and really refreshing after a kite session or time at the beach.
The staff was friendly and attentive and the food they made was delicious.
If you're a kitesurfer go there, you won't regret it!
Even when you're not, you can have a lovely time at the beach watching the kite surfers or just reading a book or staying at the village in a hammock to unwind.
Thank y'all so much, I have only good memories when I think about that summer in Sri Lanka!

Daniel and I Had an amazing time in The Margarita Village. The Bungalows in The Village have their own Garden with a Natural Rain shower... Perfect start of The day. In The evening all guests have an incredible Dinner together. We stayed 9 days and Had 6 windy days. For me it was The First Kite experience and with The Help of The motivating and funny instructors it was 100 % fun to start my Kite Journey. But also days with No Wind are memories on their own. You can do a River Safari with The boat, chill in your hamock or Party all night with The Margarita Team. You can also participate in Yoga or capoeira classes For free ( donations are Welcome though). I can definetely recommend to stay there.

It was really great to stay at Rubens place: they took care of us and were always helpful with everything we’ve needed. The Christmas BBQ night was delicious and fun, the place has a great chill vibe. The dog Tommy and all the animals were a great addition to the place. The rooms were big and comfy, the shower outside exotique:) thanks again for this amazing stay!
P.S. buy a local mosquito spray, so that you are perfectly prepared ;)

If you walk long enough, eventually you will reach the edge of the world. There, a long strip of sand stops the sea from falling into the sky, while a strong, warm wind blowing from the ocean keeps you from flying away.
Strange men and women live there, seemingly gliding over water, attached to large colorful kites that propel them into the air and that seem to be extensions of their very bodies. If you ask nicely, with a big smile and an open heart, they will teach you how to glide and to fly.
In this secluded place called Kalpitiya, the sand is warm and the coconuts sweets. Just behind the tree line, at the end of a long dirt road, cute wooden bungalows welcome the wanderer. It is a place wild and free, far from the realms of men, where the sun, the wind, and the chants of the roosters dictate the passage of time.
Kalpitiya is a dream, an enchanted place, an anti-chamber of heaven, and I cannot wait to go back.

Stayed in the MKS village for one week in the end of December/beginning of January. Had a lovely cabana with an outdoor shower, with delicious breakfast and dinner. The kiteschool has a nice rooftop bar to hang out.The IKO kite instructors were excellent, special thanks to our kiteinstrutor Ken who did a really good job by teaching us kitesurfing. We definitely will continue with kitesurfing!

Everyone wants to ensure we're happy. Fantastic food, excellent kite spot at the lagoon, good vibes only!

Thanks to the MKS team for this journey!

We’ve been there for one week, taking some Kite clases, yoga and relaxing in their beautiful beaches. You also can find good food there and some restaurants around. Best place in Kalpitiya and best crew ever. Thanks to Ingrid, Ruben, Bernard and the rest of the team.
We’ll come back soon!!

Stayed in margarita village for 3 nights, writing this review as leaving and have not enough good words to describe my experience here.
Came for the kite surfing lessons and leave feeling leaving a bunch of new friends behind, thanks to Ingrid, Ruben, Eusebi ,Javi, Blanca and all their amazing team... excellent kite surf teachers, yoga mornings overlooking the lagoon... enjoying a beer in the sunset with the other students and crew... didn’t feel alone a single moment.
My bungalow was extra size for one person could actually accommodate more than 3 people, outdoor shower and bathroom which I love... adorable pets to cuddle.
They also have free use of bicycles to move around in between the village and kite school.., they organise your lunch an the beach on request and delicious dinner at the village... we even went all together on dancing my last night to celebrate other friend leaving and Nick’s( my adorable kite surf teacher) birthday on my last night.
Keep on the good job guys!! Thanks for the good vives and hope to see you all soon.

Love ❤️

Isa

PROS:
1. Great spot for kitesurfing with a safe lagoon for beginners and consistent wind
2. Rueben is one of the head teachers and a reasonable guy that makes an effort to keep guests happy
3. They have plenty of kiteboarding coaches so you have lots of personal attention
CONS
A. The mosquitoes and sandflies are ravenous. Bring lots of bug spray and even that might not stop the sandflies
B. The food is not great. Every breakfast had burnt toast. How do they burn the toast everyday?

Kite surfing was something I wanted to try since seeing it in Australia. So when my friend Benny recommended trying out in Sri Lanka it was an immediate yes. Then we found Margarita Kite School and from day one it has been an absolute gem of an experience. The margarita village resort is a simple yet beautiful mini paradise that is environmentally friendly. The kite surfing instructors are charismatic, friendly professionals that care deeply about your improvement and the staff go the extra mile to ensure you are well serviced.

Highly recommended for a fun, exciting experience you won't forget!
