On arrival we were taken up to the balcony room by staff who were extremely welcoming and helpful on arrival, even went into town to get us a few beers.

A huge range of wildlife can be seen on the grounds including monkeys, peacocks, monitor lizards and some beautiful birds. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Located just off the main road, it is wonderfully serene but close enough (5min walk) to the hustle and bustle that you don’t miss a thing! A huge thank you to you all at The Secret Guesthouse!

Tucked away, this was a real find! We had the bungalow which is in its own garden, with a fantastic porch and a huge day bed in the garden!

The host provided delicious home cooked food, sent to our bungalow each night which meant us and the Hashbrowns settled in for a very cosy evening.
Moon villa has two bedrooms and bathrooms plus a kitchen. Perfect for a family or friends sharing. It's attached to a lovely spa and a five min walk to the beach and the rest of town is close by.

We stayed 5 nights in the Moon Villa and what a treat it was. The house is wonderfully beautiful, the little attentions of the staff were so much appreciated, breakfast was great and the spa is highly recommended (even with children). Just go to the Secret Guesthouse, don't hesitate.

We stayed for one month and found the Secret Guesthouse a most relaxing place with real privacy. The Cabana as well as the Bungalow - we experienced both - are quiet places with beautiful gardens, lots of birds and other animals to watch from the terraces.
Both places are tastefully done inside and outside with fancy details, antique elements and a stunning bathroom in the Bungalow.
Best: The Spa is next door and a hidden paradise itself. They offer great massages, relaxing on your own terrace afterwards makes it all the more beneficial.
Can only recommend the place 7 walking minutes away from the beach.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights and we had a pleasant and relaxing stay. The room was superbly presented and decorated, and the bathroom large with a great hot water shower. We experienced problems with the toilet during our stay, but this was attended to immediately and we found the owners friendly and helpful.

There is a tranquil and calm feel to this guest house, and it was pleasant to sit in the garden with a pot of tea, hearing the birds. Breakfast was a very good spread, with a variety of offerings - one morning we had the best tasting pancakes which were delicious with the accompanying fruit - alongside eggs and fresh, home cooked bread.

The guest house is a short walk from Mirissa beach, but this is part of the charm, and the location ensures peace and tranquility.

I had a few massages at different places around Sri Lanka, and I have to say that the treatments I had here were really the best. Being a practitioner myself, I am picky, but I truthfully say that booking a treatment here will be well worth your money. It is like a proper holistic spa, very unlike some of the other massage establishments in other parts of the country.

If you enjoy body therapy and you are travelling around Sri Lanka, then it is is worth going to Mirissa just to visit this place.

We loved this beautifully decorated house in a tranquil garden filled with birds and monkeys in the overlooking trees. We stayed in the twin room witch was large and sportlessly clean with a huge modern bathroom and glass doors opening up onto a seating area with a lily pond. The rooms were made up every day with fresh flowers placed on the bed! The breakfast was one of best we had with lots of variety. The house is at the end of a residential lane way filled with happy laughing kids who engage you in conversation when you walk past. We tried out the spa which was fantastic and done in a bamboo screened off area of the garden.
Would love to return here one day!
P.S. All this and great value for money!

We based ourselves here to see some of the south coast of Sri Lanka and absolutely loved it. The guesthouse is just a few minutes from the beach yet incredibly peaceful. The family running it are friendly but discreet, the service is good and the food is fantastic - breakfast included Sri Lankan specialities and the optional dinner is well worth staying in for. We also made use of the spa, where you get a discount if you are a guest, and loved the choices of treatment. We even had assistance with booking trips and getting tuktuks so all in all we could not fault the welcome we received. We would wholeheartedly recommend this guesthouse.
