We spent two nights at the hotel during the Sinhala/Tamil New Year weekend in April 2024. Our accommodation was a family room with two king-size beds and an ocean view. Waking up to the soothing sound of waves and the sight of the vast ocean was truly delightful. The room was clean, and the patio offered ample space. The beds and pillows were comfortable, and the quality of the linens was superb. Access to the beach was conveniently just across the street, though the elevator was out of service. Nonetheless, we enjoyed the exercise of taking the stairs, and the hotel graciously provided helpers for those needing assistance with their belongings.

The staff is very friendly and kind and ready to assist. Complimentary breakfast and parking added to the convenience. With numerous restaurants just a 5-10 minute walk away, and the hotel offering lunch and dinner options, we never hesitated to explore the area after dark; it's a safe neighborhood.

I highly recommend this place to anyone.

Stunning place to stay , this was our third year staying here for over 2 weeks . The staff were so helpfull and friendly and all of the staff treated myself and my wife like part of the family , cannot say enough for the Manager Mr Adrian Vandort , and his assistant manager , reception staff and the room cleaner who i will say was most helpfull all of the time , nothing was a problem for any of the staff . If you have a problem climbing stairs well don,t bother and don,t moan about it as before you book you can see the stairs , so please don,t complain about the stairs , which a few people have . Will say that the food was very good and my wife and myself would like to say a big thank you to the chef for her wide range of cooking . Adrian is probably the most helpfull manager we have come across and nothing is a problem for him , even getting up at 03.00 to call us for our trip to Yala Park , cannot fault the man . Hope you people who read this will fully understand what a great complete staff this place has .

I was there in last February with some friends of mine from Saudi Arabia. We were planning to stay only one night but we extended our stay for 4 days in that hotel. Rooms are very large, clean and have a large balcony almost same size of the room. All the rooms are facing the Indian ocean & have a panoramic view of the Mirissa Bay. They serve very nice food in the restaurant. Hotel staff are extremely helpful and very friendly. We had a memorable stay in Silan Mo. I recommend this hotel to anyone who goes to Mirissa. One thing to remember that you have to book very early as hotel is full almost every day.

We stayed at Silan Mo in a panic after a bad guest house experience - they were very kind in letting us stay at short notice.
The location was perfect - across the street from the beach, which in Mirissa is actually better than being on the beach (a bit noisy).
The hotel is quite striking in terms of design - like a ziggurat built into the cliff - it is modern but has charm, and when you're in your room, it feels like a malibu beach house - you can only see the sky and the ocean.
The rooms themselves are great - big and modern and not fussy.
There's a pool on the roof, but you'll probably head to the beach every day - we only used it once.

Wonderful hotel close to the lovely Mirissa bay beach. Staff all very friendly and attentive. rooms cleaned every day to a good standard. Comfy bed and large room and terrace with lovely views of the ocean. Always hot water available for shower.

Beautiful roof top pool, although a bit of a climb up lots of stairs. Would have been nice to be welcomed with a drink after such a climb !!!

Food in the restaurant was always good, and the service from all the Restaurant staff was excellent, even the trainees were eager to please.

We loved every minute of our stay. Thank you.

Room Tip: Lots of stairs, so if not so fit ask for a low floor. We were on 3rd floor which meant 2 floors...

Hotel is very comfortable with ocean views available. Staff are very helpful. The pool is located on the rooftop. The rooms are well equipped and clean. The hotel is built into the side of a hill .Access to all floors is by stairs only which are fairly steep. There are no lifts. The porters will take your luggage to your room, but you have to take yourself there. There is a safe deposit facility at reception which is secure, but no room safe in each room. You need to be an able bodied person to stay at this hotel. The restaurant is ok for lunch but for dinner it is better value and a better overall experience to eat out.

A well placed hotel with the most amazing views of the sea. In general this hotel is a little tired and the rooms could do with cheering up. The food was mostly good. The staff are the friendliest and nicest people we have ever met.

We stayed here for 8 days as a base for whale watching in February 2013. The hotel is actually quite new and is a good slighlty cheaper alternative to the Paradise Beach Hotel where I stayed in two previous visits to Mirissa. The staff are extremely helpful and freindly throughout from the manager to the cleaners. They even paid the TV subscription that allowed us to watch the test match between India and Australia! They were happy to organise one of our whale watching trips which included dropping off and picking up at the harbour.

The rooms are clean and tidy with good A/C. The views across the Welligama bay are fabulous. The food is fine although not as good as the Paradise Beach. I think they would benefit from putting on more Sri Lankan fayre in the evening buffets. They serve very cold Lion beer which is always a bonus!

There is a pool on the top of the building and that's great although the sunbeds and parasols need replacing!

I'd certainly stay here again and would recommend it.

Do the rooms have a hairdryer?
Answer from Tony W

Hi The issues we had with breakfast during our stay were: 1. The table settings were not cleared and made available to guests in a reasonable timeframe 2. The variety offered to eat was satisfactory although lacking in variety, the main problem was it ran out quickly and would take too long to be replaced. (Staffing and distance to the kitchen issues). 3. The toaster was faulty, so further reducing your choice 4. There were not enough cups made available and the tea and coffee were not replaced in a reasonable timeframe Towels, the room, the staff we had no complaints about, It was the large number of flights of stairs you had to climb to get to your room and the lack of Internet as you went up to the rooms that we found difficult. Hence our comment that older or disabled would struggle. More toiletries (one small bar of soap) and replacement of bottled water would have been a nice touch. .

I think best solution is contact the front desk and ask them to call a doctor. In the hotel they might have only basic medical supplies, but the girl in the front desk was always very helpful and she will manage to find a list of doctors for your friend to call... Good luck!
