Delightful example of a period house from the colonial era. Newly renovated, more than a hundred years old, home of a school head master. This house features early wood work of windows doors and columns. Has 5 double bed rooms and a single bed rooms, all with ensuite shower rooms. There are three d/b rooms in the upper floor and two d/b rooms and the single bed room in the ground floor. All rooms have hot water and free wifi access and all d/b rooms have AC. All the household equipments like refrigerator, washing machine, irons, hair dryers, coffee makers, microwave oven, etc. are available in the villa.

In addition to this old colonial type house, there is a new building with 8 modern rooms. They all have AC, hot water, balconies facing swimming pool, mini fridge, etc.

There is a swimming pool and a spacious garden to relax in with cup of tea. Walking distance (100 m) to attractive beach of Mirrissa. Five minute walk to Mirrissa fishing harbour where you can find many kinds of fresh seafoods. You can also have a taste of fresh vegetables, a variety of tropical fruits ranging from mangoes, pineapples, bananas, etc found in the area.

Stayed here recently as we had a whalewatching excursion locked in.
The hotel is a bit of a mosaic with bits added to what is a very old original structure.
Design is nice though with a lovely garden and large pool at the rear of the hotel.
Room was clean, very large (we had two double beds in our room) with a bedroom, massive bathroom / changing room and toilet. It had everything that we wanted from a hotel room for a couple of nights.
WiFi worked well although had multiple networks throughout the hotel site.
Staff were super friendly and only too happy to help with any local advice etc.
It is well located as it sits midway between the Mirissa harbour on one side and the beach on the other and is no more than 3-5 minute walk to either. Really good if you are going whale watching at 5am and its pitch black 😎
Also wanted to call out how hospitable they were when on our last morning they realized we were going to be leaving without any breakfast. They rushed us into the breakfast and pulled together a quick feed and coffee for us so we didn’t go away hungry 😎👍
Friendly team, good mid-range hotel in a great location.

We stayed at a hotel nearer the beach first night but the music was to loud from a club nearby so we moved to Handagedara instead and that was a very good move and saved our stay in Mirissa.
The distance to the beach is just 5 min walk on a not too busy little road so it didn't matter that we weren't beach front located.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is amazing.
We asked if they could cook a special request dinner. We wanted a big grilled fish which wasn't on the menu, no problem. Someone went to the market and showed us a big fresh red snapper which the cocked for us to perfection the same night.
It is clean, inside as well as outside and the pool area is just perfect.
We stayed 4 nights.
Highly recommended.

This place was just wonderful. The staff gave us such a warm welcome when we arrived including the owner Priyanga. All throughout our stay the staff were very helpful and couldn’t do enough for us, always with a smile on their faces. The room I stayed in was huge - I booked a triple room for myself and daughter and we were given a free upgrade to a family room - it was massive, more like an apartment and had a great balcony with amazing view of the pool.
The breakfast every morning was the best! We got to try local dishes every morning and anything else we requested they made to order. We also got a packed breakfast when we were up early going to a safari which was very thoughtful of the staff and also even on our transfer to the airport on our way home.
The location is extremely convenient being so close to Mirissa beach and all the lovely bars and restaurants.
We had a fantastic time staying here I would recommend, and will definitely be returning.
Sally, Scott and Lara 😊

When I realized we were being gouged at another hotel I walked in Handagedara hoping for a 5 night booking. The owner was very kind and apologized for the price I was paying elsewhere and did everything in her power to get us a room. Even though they only had a standard room left it was clean and comfortable. The AC worked wonderfully and the staff kept it clean (no easy task since we at the beach most days) and replenished. This is a family run hotel and the owner takes pride in everything she does and will bend over backward to make you feel welcome. The pool is gorgeous and the whole aesthetic is amazing especially for the rates - great value.

Perfection. The rooms and pool are stunning, breakfast is good considering it’s included. Location is perfect because it’s very close to the beach with little music noise.

The family are brilliant and arrange anything you request. They even beat Google rate on money exchange. We will return!!

Great hotel. Quiet location but 5 minutes walk from Mirissa beach. Super friendly and helpful staff who helped us plan trips. Rooms were nicely decorated and spacious. Lovely balcony overlooking pool to relax on. Lovely pool with sun loungers so you can chill by the pool. Good breakfast included offering western and Sri Lankan options. They also had a generator which was great as we went at a time where there were lots of power cuts. So we always had air-con and wifi connection.

We stayed there three nights and would definitely recommend this hotel. Rooms were very nice with balcony overlooking the pool. Bathroom was updated and shower had hot water with good pressure. Pool was clean but can get busy and there could be more chairs. Breakfast is good but choices are limited. Nice location as it is only a 5 minute walk to the beach

We stayed four nights at a family room and we were very happy with everything.
The lady owner was very sweet the all stay, always asking if everything was ok with our stay.
Breakfast is very complete and the egg station is a very good idea.
The property is very well located, very near to the beach of Mirissa.
For sure a place to came back to

Lovely hotel great location only 5 mins stroll to beach , pool was lovely and clean , breakfast was nice. We also ordered pool aide lunch on occasion which was of a good standard . Staff very friendly, good spa facilities.
Rooms were large with nice size balcony and decent toilet / shower room .
Our WiFi didn't seem to work after 9 pm but was OK during day when we used it.
Fridge in room also not working but tbh I did not report it as regular fresh water provided

One of our more expensive bookings for our Sri Lanka trip. Place had a nice pool, breakfast was ordinary and the room was unfortunately so loud from traffic as the balcony door would not shut properly. Water was not hot in the bathroom. For what you pay vs the rest of the country was a bit of a let down.
