We stayed here at the beginning of March for three nights at the end of our tour of Sri Lanka. A totally different experience from the latest reviews so I wonder if management has changed since Covid. The hotel is situated right at the end of the beach on a peninsula and so when you are in the restaurant or round the pool or on your balcony you are on a level with the surfboarders waiting for a wave. You can leave the hotel by a gate which leads right on to the beach as long as the tide is out. We found the hotel very clean, our room was cleaned every day and we always had endless hot water in the bathroom. Room large with a lovely patio with comfy seats and a hammock. Breakfast was cooked to order every day and we had fruit, pancakes, eggs any way we wanted them and pots of tea. We found the manager charming and very helpful and he helped arrange a whale watching trip and snorkelling with turtles trip both for a very reasonable price. The noise from the clubs along the beach does carry at night but once we shut our doors we slept soundly. We would definitely return.…
Was really looking forward to staying here as our final stop during our honeymoon. positives first: the staff were so helpful and kind and the location of this ‘guesthouse’ is just idyllic..that’s where it all ends. The place is a shambles, don’t know if it is under new management or the likes but they do not know how to run a hotel or guest house. The place is a mess and I certainly would definitely question the cleanliness - I attempted breakfast once and then couldn’t even face a coffee the next morning. Can’t believe it was 180 dollars a night we felt completely ripped off but there wasn’t even an opportunity to complain as the manager was no where to be seen at check out - hence why I have to leave a comment here. We stayed in some amazing hotels during our Sri Lankan visit at a half of the cost. A hostel would be of way better standard. Very sorry to say I would actively encourage people not to stay here...even the pool was filthy.…
I am Chief Public Prosecutor for Delhi Police, India. location is 10/10, staff very simple, polite, humble, service boy Chanaka helped my husband and treated when sea warm bite his foot, food tasty at
Terrible noise from the bars during the night time - impossible to sleep until bars closing time. This hotel would also need a lot of renovation. Staff is helpfull, but seems to be quite inexperienced. No warm water in the bathroom. I would not recommend this hotel.
Spent 5 nights chilling at this wonderful spot after 2 weeks of culture and site seeing. Not sure how “boutique “ hotel is defined but not what I was expecting, however, the rooms are fantastic and the location, right on the beach with incredible views are worth it. We didn’t have dinner there as too many lively choices on the beach, breakfast was excellent. We used the hotel taxi service for a day trip to Galle which was very good, used them again when we left to Negombo and I think this time it was subcontracted out and the car and driver left much to be desired, good job I had google maps or driver would never have found the hotel. That aside, another wonderful experience of the country and the people.
