Mount Cinnamon offers a variety of accommodation to suit different tastes and budgets. The main house occupies the summit of the cinnamon clad hill and is a modern version of an estate bungalow enjoying panoramic views in all directions. There is a swimming pool in the garden court and a sculpture gallery in the undercroft. The cinnamon museum sits half-way...

Calm and quiet environment, not worth for overnight stay. Outing with the kids not recommend as there can be a sort of slightly dangerous landscape. Windy outside so that you can stay just lying under the sun, but warm though

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was so great. We were upgraded from the museum to the main house and were the only people there. We didn't mind it at all and had the pools and everything to ourselves. The room was beautiful and the bed was so comfortable! Incredible views all around and really delicious food. We...

Delicious food. Delicious views. Spent two nights here. Lovely place, marvelous staff. Blessedly far from the beach. The rooms are spotless and the pool is divine. Fallen frangipani blossoms float on the surface. The library in the executive suite has a lot of local information.

Prior to booking a room at the Mirissa Hills, my partner was told that it was situated 2 kms away from the beach. Upon arrival, the receptionist/waiter/cleaner/driver gave us a room in the Bungalow and told us that it was 5 kms away. I don't mind staying in isolated places at all. What is a major concern for me is...

I am not going to repeat all the totally justifiable praise heaped on Mirissa Hills by other reviewers because actions speak louder than words. We first had 5 nights at this Place 3 years ago and knew before we left that we would be returning to Sri Lanka specifically to spend much longer at this very special place. After many...

Fantastic location And warm hospitality adds to the charm...though it seems on a little expensive side, its worth a experience if you are with your family. It also has a very traditional touch.. one of the best moments i remember in Sri Lanka We stayed one single night in Mirissa and used this hotel. The location is excellent overlooking the...

We stayed in the Museum at this wonderful hotel. A magical place, very atmospheric in a beautiful situation in the heart of a working cinnamon plantation. The staff were charming and attentive, our room extremely comfortable with wonderful views. The infinity pool overlooking the natural forest was stunning. It was only a two minute easy walk to the top of...

I stayed at Mirissa Hills for one evening and tried to extend, thank goodness they did not have the extra night I needed available as I would not stay here again. I agree with most of the other reviewers that have stayed here that this place has potential- good hardware, but lacks the software/maintenance. Positives: Nice architecture- layout of the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to Mirissa Hills, one of the finest cinnamon estates southern Sri Lanka can offer. Spend your time wining and dining in our fabulous restaurant, famed for the magical local cuisine and western surprises, or enjoy a night in one of three totally unique and boutique luxury villas aboard the estate. At the top of the hill you will find yourself transported into an architectural jewel, designed by the infamous C. Anjalendran, protege to the late and great Geoffrey Bawa. Mount Cinnamon has panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. Enjoy high tea of scones and cake whilst your eye wanders from paddy fields, mountains, jungle, all the way to the Weligama coastline. The contrast between contemporary and modern is done flawlessly from the flow of the building to the furniture that adorns this spacious home. The second property, called The Cinnamon Museum is home to a boutique restaurant (currently being renovated) where you can try the all the delights Sri Lanka has too offer, experience a traditional English high tea with cakes using our very own cinnamon. Western dishes are also available and are truly a gourmet experience. Come for the day and enjoy the beautiful views whilst relaxing by the infinity pool, lose yourself amongst the cinnamon trails or stay in one of four rooms decorated with hand chosen works of art and modern bathroom facilities. The final property is stooped in historical charm, over one hundred years in age, The Bungalow is the original estate building. The walls and floors are adorned with traditional furnishings to transport you back in time to by gone Ceylon. We also have a luxury tent perfect for a nights "glamping" experience, wake up amongst the cinnamon and enjoy a coffee whilst admiring the view of our whole estate. So join us for the day, book a room or occupy the entire property and enjoy a relaxing experience in the heart of Sri Lankan culture. ... more   less
