We were super lucky to be able to book a room at Esprit D’ici for five nights during NYE in the most popular Mirissa beach area. There were so many good reviews leaded us to the booking , but our in person experiences were even better! The moment walked in the hotel lobby , we were looking for someone to help to find back my friend’s phone ( he forgot it in the car and we couldn’t speak the local language to make phone calls), the owner’s daughter and her cousin both amazingly friendly and professional, helped immediately, as the result the driver showed up in hotel lobby with the phone. It was the first moment , we felt like their long time friends already :) And after the phone event , we started notice how beautiful and spacious the hotel is, is as described in other’s reviews , but better in person once again :) 2nd night during our stay , was the grand opening of their rooftop and there was a bbq party. We were sitting among the hotel owner’s family table , everyone was so welcoming and loving , offering drinks and explaining the culture of Sri Lanka , made us part of their beautiful family :) The staffs in the hotel are amazing , helpful and attentive but always make sure that we have our personal space being respected. The front desk gentleman ( I forgot his name) , offered so many insight suggestions , and very helpful and always there when we need to ask a question, on our last day , he arranged a car with the wonderful young driver to drop us back to Colombo to catch the flight . The vibes of the hotel and people always been so warmly welcoming and professional meanwhile they are so enjoying working together. The hotel owner is a great wonderful gentleman, I can see that he is really caring and loving what he is creating in the hotel, that is why everyone is happy( including his staffs and guests). I can not recommend enough to stay at Esprit D’lci Hotel, great place to be. Thank you everyone and we miss Sri Lanka already !

Having travelled to various locations in Sri Lanka over 10 nights, I had booked this hotel for our final 10 nights to chill and relax. Our room was huge with a large balcony area overlooking the sea. Comfy bed, good quiet air con and very clean. I asked about a fridge for the room which was put in within minutes of my asking. The owner is a true gentleman and nothing is too much trouble. The staff, happy and courteous and always greeted us with a smile. Unfortunately the whale watching was suspended the day we got there due to restrictions for Covid 19 being put in place. We had a week of going to the lovely beach before things started to change on a daily basis. A curfew was imposed last Friday so was confined to the hotel. We were so well looked after by the staff at the hotel, we spent our days around the pool and I have to say the meals we had at the hotel for the last 4 nights of our stay were absolutely delicious and plentiful. The owner sorted out our airport taxi for our flight yesterday at a very reasonable rate. In the circumstances we were facing, I would not have wanted to be anywhere else and will certainly return next year to stay. A huge huge thank you Esprit D’Ici for looking after us so well, we both wish you and all the staff good health and happiness.

We were in a bit of a pickle, when we arrived in Arugam Bay to find that the whole place was abandoned during the off-season. Desperately we looked to move to the south coast the same day, and thanks to the flexibility of Esprit d'Ici's staff we were able to take a taxi to Mirissa the same evening (they even held back some food for us and heated it up when we arrived really late in the evening). Most memorable for us was the staff: so kind, helpful and friendly. Really laid-back atmosphere, especially with the garden on the 'jungle-side' and all the monkeys jumping through the trees there. The pool is equally nice, though it was not the cleanest we've seen, and it's a bit small if the hotel is fully booked. It didn't matter to us though. It's also a short walk to a lovely little beach where one can easily snorkel with turtles (just don't disturb them please, travel responsibly!) It's a 15 minute walk to the larger beach, but it's nice to be out of it as it can get noisy and busy. Room was really well maintained, and very clean. All in all, great experience, would recommend.

We spent 2 nights here with family. The rooms are enormous, clean and comfortable. The staff is very accommodating and the breakfast was very good. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice in it's jungle setting. The location is a very short tuk tuk ride to the main beach and a variety of hotels. Good value for the money. Bring bug spray!

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Upon arrival we wrestled greeted with welcome drink. We made a mistake while booking and needed to change for a bigger room, so manager did the best he can do and we got a very spacious room with a beautiful view to the sea and coconut hill. The place is very calm even it’s located by the main road, you don’t notice the noise..all hotel surrounded by the beautiful garden, close by you can see monkeys, land monitors, geckos, different birds. The pool is clean and refreshing, staff very friendly and helpful. Food at the restaurant is very tasty and prices are reasonable ☺️ at breakfast not too much selection, but just enough: friesh fruits, pancakes, fresh fried eggs, toasts, juice, coffee :)
We used their laundry service, the clothes were nicely cleaned and folded 🙏
At the main hall theres plenty of activities such as pool tables, chess, darts, soccer table, book shelves..so you don’t get bored if you spend evenings at the hotel ☺️
Location is very convenient, 3 min walk to the beach where you can just chill around, rent equipment for snorkelling, take a guide to see turtles, climb a coconut hill, visit the small temple.
To visit center you can either walk 10-15 min, or use a tuk tuk service that will take you anywhere you need.
Rooms are spaciuos, clean, beds equipped with mosquito nets.
All in all our stay was comfortable and fulfilled our expectations for the price they offer 🙏
And they gaved us a bottle of water when we were leaving to refresh on the way ☺️

Beautiful and very clean rooms. Very comfortable beds. Rooms are quiet as off the main drag. UK plugs in the rooms made life easy. Fantastic staff and customer service, and they were very accommodating of a big group. Above all - fantastic hospitality. We had a baby with us and they tried very hard to accommodate this and provided a lovely and comfortable cot. Great food at the restaurant. Amazing rooftop where you can have sundowners. Good accessibility to the beach- 10 minute walk or few mins by tuk tuk. Overall good value for money.

Only 2 minor negatives - could do with more towels, a hand towel in the room would have been nice, and they seemed to run out of pool towels. Also lots of mosquitoes by the pool and downstairs at the restaurant (but none in the rooms and all the rooms had mosquito nets). Wouldn't stop us going back though.

A lovely family run hotel with super helpful staff who bend over backwards to help and provide for their guest's needs. The rooms are big and very clean and the hotel atmosphere is very relaxed and is ideal for families, with a large lobby area with plenty of seating, books and games. The hotel is situated about 5 minutes from Mirissa beach on the main road, but it is nevertheless very quiet There is a pool too which is ideal to cool off at the end of the day, surrounded by trees and bushes and with monkeys in the trees.I would have no hesitation to return again to this hotel as it is very clean, excellent value and there is a friendly professional team of people looking after you.

The break fast and the hall room is very nice. The staff and owners are very friendly. location is view is also nice but little far from the main beach (1.2 km), the most happening place of Mirissa. The owner has a great books and plants collection. The rooms are big and clean. However, the swimming pool needs to be renovated.

This was the fourth time we stayed here and we were not disappointed. The rooms are clean and spacious, breakfast was very good and the staff were amazing,to the extent that the owner arranged for an item of lost property to be collected and returned to me three hours away.
I would again highly recommend this hotel for location, cleanliness and value for money as well as being looked after by a great team of people.

We stayed here for two nights and weren’t quite sure what to expect from a hotel classified as one-star. We had a great stay, slept well and enjoyed the fact that the hotel was about 1km away from the main beach in Mirissa. We’ve arranged to stay another two nights later this week. Customer service was great and the staff were very good. Breakfast nothing special, other options in Mirissa if you’d like. No hot water on our last day, but we hope this will be sorted later in the week. Good value for money.

How far are you from the airport? Thank you

Mirissa is quite a drive from the airport - it would really depend on the time of day. It will generally be 2-3 hours, there's a freeway that takes you most of the way. Just as long as you're not caught in bad traffic (really common in Sri Lanka, especially for holidays, such as Poya days)

We had a sea view room and another room along the side. The hotel is set back from the road; it's fairly quiet in the sea view room but the side room is definitely quieter. If you book a side room, book one close to the front (opposite end away from the pool) and you'll still have a partial ocean view. The other side rooms don't have good views.

Hello. We took the train from Colombo to Mirissa, so I don't know if the hotel has airport pick-up. The train ride often went along the coast, and first class seats are available ( if you take the train, enter from the front of the car and sit to the left - the side without track sim the opposite direction- for good views).
